Waking Up

In a dimly lit hospital room, Naia opened her azure eyes to see the plain ceiling. She felt a little whoozy and disoriented, unsure of where she was.
The sterile scent of chemicals surrounded her, and she could hear rhythmic beeping around the room combined with gentle hums of what she would later learn to be medical equipment.
And… she could also hear a soft snore.
She blinked the lethargy away and turned her head to the source of the sound.
It was a young man, handsome in a different way from the other men she had met. He was sleeping while sitting on a chair next to her, and he was bent a lot due to his height.
He was very tall and big, but somehow his sleeping face was endearing and cute.
His large hand was holding hers, and she couldn't help but notice its good shape and roughness. Compared to the other men, his hand had a lot more signs of labor.
