Chapter 2 New Home

It was the following day, and Jade was sitting in a wheelchair on the curb next to the hospital with Dr. Palmer, waiting for her mother to bring the car around so they could go home.

Jade was thinking about her plans for the future. She knew the battle of New York was going to happen sometime in the next couple of months, which meant the start of the Avengers. She plans to get her stats back up, hopefully to what she had before or better by then, so she can help. She plans to join the Avengers at that time and gain access to all of the Avengers to siphon.

She was also considering attending college and getting a job or internship at Stark Industries. Christine brought her out of her thoughts.

"Dr. Palmer: You know, Jade, I will miss you dearly. The hospital won't be the same without your spirited presence."

"Jade: I will be honest with you, Christine. im happy to be out of this place, but I will miss you."

"Dr. Palmer: Here is my number and address if you ever feel like talking or visiting. My doors will always be open to you. After all, we are friends."

"Jade: Sure, I will take you up on visiting when I fully get better and have free time, and I will text you once I get a phone. Of course, we are friends, Christine."

Just then, Jade's mother pulled up in front of them in her car.

"Mother: All right, Jade, sweetie. Let's get you home. Your father and brother look forward to seeing you finally healthy."

"Jade: Alright, Christine, see you around."

"Christine: Yeah, see you soon, Jade. I hope you feel better soon."

...Time Skip 1 Week...

Jade woke up to birds chirping outside her window and the sun coming through her window; she slowly sat up and stretched. After a bit of just enjoying the morning, she checked her system

She was a little disappointed with her progress, but her parents haven't been letting her out much. The people she had been in contact with didn't have very high stats; they only had skills she already had. But that was going to change today because her parents finally let her go out on her own and do what she wanted.

She planned to see about joining a martial arts dojo, and after that, she was going to Midtown School of Science and Technology, which was the school she did online classes with, to pick up some paperwork so she could apply to go to college. With all those things, she would have plenty of people to siphon tonight.

She got up and went about her morning routine, and while she was in her bathroom, she had this idea to see if she could manipulate the electricity in the walls through the outlet; when she tried it, she seemed just to absorb it, and after some trial and error, she was able to use it. But suddenly, she got a notification from her system.

Energy Absorption: You can absorb most energy and either use it or replenish your magic or stamina with the energy.

That would be a convenient way of reducing the amount of food she would need to eat to use her magic and her siphon skill. While she finished getting ready for the day, she was humming a happy tune at getting a new skill.

Jade walked down the stairs and into the kitchen, her hair in a French braid still humming.

"Jade: morning, Mom, morning Ty."

As Jade said this, she stopped because she saw someone she wasn't expecting. If she had a guess, it was Peter Parker because she knew he was the same age as her brother and that they were friends. He also looked like a young Tom Halond.

"Mom: Ohh Jade, good morning, and sorry for not letting you know, but Peters's aunt and uncle both had to work, and they did not have anyone that could watch him, so they asked if he could stay over here for today."

"Jade: Oh, that's no problem; it's nice to meet you, Peter. You have probably heard of me. I'm Ty's sister."

"Peter: Yeah, it's nice to meet you finally, and I'm glad you're finally better."

As he said, we shook hands.

"Jade: By Everyone, see you later. im going out for the day."

She pulled Peter's stat sheet as she left the house.

Jade was super happy because Peter was the first person to have a stat that would give her a good boost from just one person. She was probably going to do his biology skill, but that would be for the latter. She got on the subway heading to Chinatown because she had found a dojo that taught multiple martial arts and had good reviews on the internet. But for some reason, she couldn't stop thinking that the dojo's name sounded familiar.

She stopped in front of the dojo, and the sign said Chikara Dojo. She went inside and stopped to watch as a woman was teaching a group of kids. She was honestly impressed that the kids knew what they were doing, which meant they had a good teacher.

After about another 15 minutes of teaching, the class ended.

"Group of kids: By sensei."

After all of the kids were gone, the teacher sensei came up to me and introduced herself, and I finally realized why the dojo's name sounded so familiar.

"Sensei: Hello, My name is Colleen Wing. What can I do for you?"

"Jade: Hi Colleen, im Jade. I was looking for a dojo to learn at, and I saw this place had some good reviews on the internet, so I came on over."

"Colleen: Well, Jade, you came to the right palace. Do you have any prior experience with martial arts and any goals you want to achieve?"

"Jade: I have some experience in hand-to-hand combat, but im not formally trained in any martial arts. As for goals, I am looking to learn to defend myself and gain some muscle."

"Colleen: Well, I say let's do this; we will have a short spar to gauge your skill level and know where to start you. Dont worry, I will go easy on you."

"Jade: That sounds fine to me."

She directed me to where I could set my stuff, and while doing that, I checked her skill sheet.

While my back was still turned, I smiled because I just hit the the jackpot.

"Colleen: Okay, let's Start."

....time skip 10 minutes...

Jade was on the floor panting from the spar Colleen, and she just had, and to be honest, that was one of the most brutal fights she had ever had. Even Xay, her Small knife instructor, didn't push that hard, and combined with her lower stats, she was used to fighting with mad rather than a hard fight.

"Colleen: Okay, I have a good gauge of your skills and how to proceed with teaching you. I Would have you come two to three times a week around three in the afternoon if that works for you."

"Jade: That works for me for now. My schedule might change in the future, but for right now, that works for me.

....Time Skip to the end of the day....

It was the end of the day, and Jade was lying on her bed, preparing for her siphoning that night and getting her babies all set for the night.

That right, Jade grew a small tree for her babies and put it behind a permanent illusion that only she and the bonded could see, though, so if any of her family comes in, they dont wonder where the tree came from, and the very colorful butterflies on it are.

"Jade: Night my babies."

"Ramoth: Night mama."

And with that, Jade made her selections and passed out for the night.
