Chapter 8

Tara met Dan at a party meant for writers and publishing houses. Tara was chosen on behalf of her company to attend the party, whereas Dan was an investigative journalist and had a personal invitation.

Dan was tall, charming and carefree. And it was enough for Tara to talk freely with the guy. Dan was really not that handsome, but his personality seemed to shine by the way he carried himself. His confidence was an armor he wore on him and it seemed to attract everything around him.

By the end of the evening both Dan and Tara realized that they liked each other and were compatible; they exchanged phone numbers and emails and promised to contact each other. And by the end of the month, they were a couple.

It was so easy being with Dan that she did not have any insecurities. He seemed to like her for what she was and she appreciated him for it. The fact that he was not overdemanding was a cherry on top.

The first few months they were together, they really enjoyed each other's company because it was seldom they could meet up; Tara was busy at the publishing house and Dan was trampling the world for his stories. During the times they spent together, they tried to make it up for the time they lost.

After a few months, Dan was given the task of writing a story in town and things started to become complicated as they started to see too much of each other.

Tara and Dan were complete opposites, and it was this what had brought them together in the beginning. But with each moment they spent together, they wished the other was a little different. While Dan spoke this out jokingly, Tara took these seriously and was loosing her patience with Dan.
