Seju’s Past

Two years ago, exotic monsters first appeared in the Holy City Palace through an unknown teleportation magic circle.

The Benchu royal family led their warriors to fight the monsters using spiritual power, achieving modest success. However, as the monsters kept appearing unpredictably and incessantly, everyone gradually felt overwhelmed and casualties began to occur. It wasn't until a few months later, amidst the ruins of buildings destroyed by the monsters, that a new generation diva of the Kingdom of Light, Sheryl, who was also another proud student of Yoko, sang out in despair. At the same time, monsters nearby, upon hearing Sheryl's song, surprisingly stopped in their tracks, standing stiffly in place, vulnerable to attack. This was when people began to realize that monsters could indeed be influenced by song. Subsequent real-world tests led to the following observations:

1. Monsters only appeared inside the Holy City Palace and couldn't breach the protective barrier of the palace.

2. Only the songs of a few individuals had the ability to weaken the monsters. Different people produced varying degrees of weakening effects.

3. Only songs performed live could weaken the monsters. Recorded songs played from tapes or other media had no effect. Amethysts with teleportation abilities could transmit live songs to the battlefield, albeit with some loss in effectiveness.

4. If spiritual power was infused into the songs, they could produce a stronger weakening effect on the monsters.

Although the origin of the monsters and the reasons behind these phenomena remained unclear, fighting the monsters and attempting to investigate any clues seemed the only viable approach. Led by Yoko, the Kingdom of Light promptly organized a diva squad capable of combating the monsters, with Sheryl being one of the core divas. However, the available divas were few, far from sufficient. Shortly after establishing the above observations, the royal families of the Kingdom of Light and the Kingdom of Purple announced a diva selection under the guise of a joint concert, in hopes of discovering more divas to join the fight. The royal families also covertly collected information on divas with some fame worldwide, secretly testing their songs with teleportation amethysts to gradually establish contact with potential divas, hoping they would pass the selection and join the squad.

Yoko was the initiator of the entire diva project. Kimoon had also been tested in secret, to Yoko's pleasant surprise. Therefore, despite Kimoon not participating in the selection, Yoko included her in the final list of a hundred and personally went to the Kingdom of Purple to welcome Kimoon.

After the final performance validation, learning the truth, and making a choice, about one-third of the divas decided to join the fight. To prepare the divas for battle at any time, the royal family arranged for experts to provide various types of training over the following weeks. The divas also lived together in the Moon Inviting Palace, guarded by the royal guards.

Kingdom of Light, Holy City Palace, Moon Inviting Palace

Kimoon was also residing in the Moon Inviting Palace, more precisely, she was forced to live there. She had calmly accepted the information passed down from Zui Ai. She finally confirmed that Benchu Zui Ai was indeed her mother, accepted herself as the twin sister of Ruo Pu, and accepted her identity as a member of the Benchu royal family. Though she didn't understand why she was treated specially. Why couldn't she, like Ruo Pu, grow up happily as the beloved daughter; why, as a member of the Benchu royal family, was her identity hidden and she was excluded from the royal family. But Kimoon had long been accustomed to her uniqueness and turbulent fate, she wouldn't actively seek answers. Since her mother and the royal family had abandoned her, she would just as they wished, not initiating contact with them.

"But now they want me to take on the responsibility of fighting as Benchu Kimoon, how ironic," Kimoon murmured, drinking alone in her room. At this moment, she wished Seju was by her side. Kimoon couldn't help but think of Seju. But she knew that Seju was currently assisting Yoko, preparing for the divas' training and battle.

Seju had visited Kimoon not long ago. Besides the routine sexes, although they were both sober at the time, it had become their habit and a way to alleviate loneliness; Seju even confessed her identity and past to Kimoon.

It turned out that Seju was Yoko's younger daughter. Like Kimoon, she was a "criminal" hidden by the royal family. Kimoon felt a sense of sympathy for Seju amidst the surprise.

Seju shared with Kimoon that her relationship with Yoko, though not as distant and estranged as Kimoon's with Zui Ai, was more like a superior to a subordinate, a command to be followed, rather than a mother-daughter relationship. Seju, having grown up in the Holy City Palace as a member of the royal family, enjoyed the privileges and noble status of a princess, just like Kikyo and Zui Ai, but she could feel the disregard, sometimes even disdain, from other royal family members. Although protected by Yoko, ensuring Seju a worry-free life and healthy growth under the guardianship of several attendants, she knew in her heart that she was not truly a member of the Benchu royal family, and her princess identity had never been announced to the outside world. Seju was merely a princess within the palace walls.

In her youth, Seju had loved a girl. This girl had given Seju warmth and love she had never felt before, becoming Seju's only attachment and purpose in life. However, due to a mistake Seju made, they had a falling out and broke up. But their love was too deep, and for several years they continued on and off. More precisely, the girl would return to Seju's side during breaks with other partners, seeking temporary rest and comfort. And Seju, always waiting alone at the same spot, hoping for her beloved to finally forgive her and return for good.

But in the end, the girl met someone she could spend her life with. She completely broke off with Seju, leaving her world forever. Seju's world began to collapse. Just when Seju was lost and despairing about life and the future, Yoko appeared in time, giving her an order: go to the Kingdom of Purple, take care of a child named Kimoon.

Now, Yoko was asking Seju to help her build and lead a new diva squad. Therefore, Seju came to say goodbye to Kimoon, resigning from her role as Kimoon's manager to join her in battle as a commander of the diva squad.

"Of course, we can keep in touch as always," they suggested to each other.
