"GOING SOMEWHERE?"
My eyes flickered between Xeros and Nikolai. Both had serious expressions, but it was Xeros who worried me. . His eyes were narrowed, rigid and cold as his finger rested steadily on the trigger. For the first time, I was genuinely afraid of him. My blood ran cold as I watched the way he almost morphed into a different person. He didn't spare me a glance as he stared Santiago with the most terrifying glare, I had ever seen on him.
Nikolai and I locked eyes briefly. He shot me what was probably supposed to be a comforting smile, but all it did was make me feel more nervous.
A bead of sweat trickled down Santiago's forehead. "Xeros, what a lovely surprise," He laughed. "I was actually going to pop in and say hello before I left -"
"Cut the shit," Xeros growled. "I'm not here for any of your bullshit. We're taking Isla and that's it."
