"MAKE YOURSELVES AT HOME."
Xeros shut the door as he ushered us inside from the cold. I looked around the familiar home, a fond smile creeping up on my lips. Why did this place feel more like home, than my own ever had?
Devin and I trudged inside, exhaustion taking over us. I flopped backwards on his couch, snorting a laugh when Devin imitated.
"Where do you want us to leave our stuff?" I asked through half-closed eyes.
"Just leave them here for now," Xeros shrugged. "I'll sort out where to keep them when I figure out the sleeping allocations. First though, I'll get you guys something to eat."
"No, no," I shook my head. "There's no need. I'm not hungry –"
I snapped my mouth shut when a loud grumble came from my stomach. I felt my cheeks heat up in embarrassment when Xeros and Devin tried to hide their laughs. I cleared my throat loudly, sitting up properly in an attempt to appear unbothered.
