Are you ready to embark on a new adventure to a high school campus with teen werewolves, where the competition is not between Alpha and Alpha for the territory, but an Alpha and a Sigma- or are they even competitors? David Matthew, the Alpha-in-training of the Eclipse Pack has been preparing to take over the leadership of his pack and over the disputed Crescent territory by fighting his prime enemies- the Alphas of the Orion and Moon packs. But his expectations are largely subverted when he finally comes face-to-face with the rumoured Alpha of the Moon pack for the first time, Nora Rovery. _ Nora Rovery has led a mostly secluded life uptil now- scorned by her father, disregarded by her mother and her existence largely hidden from the public eye, under a carefully-crafted web of lies. She has understandably set high hopes for her first day at the new high school- which promptly seems like a bad idea within the first thirty seconds of encountering the school bully, David Matthew. Come along on this ride with David and Nora, who are born to be enemies, but end up forging their own path, true to their rebel spirits.
Whoever had first started to spread the thought about everyday being a new beginning amongst the masses, Nora just wanted to tell them exactly how wrong they were! Because when someone is happy and has trust in themselves, then every second can be a whole new beginning to the rest of their lives.
Just like for her, the new beginning had promptly started at the time her father had asked her about him having been a good father to her or not. Because one half of her own soul wanted to scream and tell him that he had been the worst father she could have had, not just because of her own biased opinion but also according to whatever she had ever read in books! But then at the same time when one half was revolting, the other half of that very own soul was debating her perception, bringing attention to the fact that she had never seen real fathers apart from her own and Louis'. And similar to how the popular statement about everyday being a new beginning was only partially true according to her, then her father being the worst father could also lie on the same plane of ambiguity. He might not be the worst father ever, rather a strict one.
So when she had returned to her room after having lunch and telling him that she did not think so, all she wanted was to rush to Myron and Robin and tell them what had happened with her after she had returned home. But even when she was flying on the borrowed wings of that wish, she knew that she would actually have to wait till the next morning. There was no way that she could go out at this time of the day, nor did she have any other medium of communication she could use to establish contact with them. She still remembered how surprised Myron had been after he had come to know that she did not have a mobile phone of her own, and that she could not use the landline without her parents' permission, either.
But now, everything was good, either way. She should be heading towards the school in five minutes, as her father had asked her to wait in the car while he was just going to return with some important things that he had left in the house.
_______________
Robin was frankly quite unsure of the changes he had been noticing in his own behaviour after he had met Nora, apart from the one immediately enforced rule of only stepping out of the bathroom fully dressed! Because no matter what he was ready for or not, he definitely was not ready for another encounter with Nora in a towel.
But apart from that, he was really not sure why he had gotten fully ready almost half hour before the first class was scheduled to start. Moreover, he was utterly confused as far as his arrival in the classroom twenty minutes before the reporting time was concerned. And the most confusing thing for him, was that he had not even entered the class yet! Instead, he was waiting for Nora to arrive, going round and round in circles, traversing the corridor from the office to their class. But the moment he saw Nora's car entering the building, he rushed right into the classroom; because of her promise, he knew that she would also be heading towards the class directly, avoiding the invitation of any more adventure in her way.
But when it had been five minutes and he was yet to hear any sound or discern any other movements in their vicinity indicating Nora's arrival, he stood from his place once again, cursing someone in his mind- and Nora was definitely not that someone.
He was trying to be inconspicuous about his attempt at stepping out of the classroom and looking for Nora, when he saw her standing in the shade of a wall, and looking at someone. He quickened his steps as he moved towards her while imagining the worst, only to find that she was hiding from Myron, who was also looking at someone while hiding behind another wall.
Up to this point, he had been wondering what could be wrong with him; but now, he was sure that if he stayed mum through this and did not speak anything, then he should consider himself to be the perfect candidate for a mental asylum.
Performing the most crucial calculation of his life, he finally spoke after overcoming a difficulty in finding the set of words that would not hurt her in this situation of her doing the utter…. whatever anyone could name this act.
"Are you sure you come here for classes, and not for taking part in some kind of find- the- thief or treasure hunt game?"
He was confronted with a startled Nora, who herself did not know what had startled her- his sudden arrival, his whisper, or the thought of being caught by someone. Regardless of that, her mind bypassed the stage of figuring this out and skipped straight to the physical instinct to scream.
"Aaaaaaaaaa -"
However, before the true hazard could have commenced, Robin displayed that he had indeed performed a spectacular risk analysis, by placing his hands on her mouth. He whispered an urgent "Shut up!", commanding her to be quiet and then slowly removed his hand, when Nora finally blurted out;
"Holy Moon Goddess!! You have freaked me out!"
It seemed like every word had been spoken by her with the sole intention of getting a reply in the form of a perfect roast from Robin.
"Really? No way! I thought I would be helping you in gaining some more adrenaline, as you already seem quite into this mission impossible scenario of playing hide and seek -"
Nora interrupted his taunt, having gotten used to them long ago, and stated the reason she was lurking there so that she could go back to the task without wasting any more time.
"No! I am looking at the girl Myron likes!"
"Myron likes a girl!?"
Robin repeated her words in the form of a question. He was genuinely not able to believe what she had just said, and hoped to hear her voice in reply, either confirming or rejecting what he had just heard.
But before Nora's words could have materialised into this world and fulfilled his hopes, the two of them heard a voice that was completely similar to Myron's.
"What are you two doing here, while talking about me? I am pretty sure I heard my name."
