CHAPTER 6

"Tenten, you will be stationed at the arena. Three out of nine Jinjurikis are in tommorow's event. So be ready if something goes wrong." Hokage was doing the last minute security setup for the arena. The other jonins were already assigned. Anbu has been assigned to guard the daimyos. The village security level has been increased to level five, the war level. Only those who are at the top like jonins knew the real reason. Orochimaru, the snake sanin and the traitor of the leaf. The tension is very high. Every jonin has been told to be prepared for the possible war.

After a month the day of finals finally arrived. Many people have reached the village just to see the exams. Many gambling dens came to surface in hopes of making some money. The entire village is bustling with people.

I reached at the arena in the morning, four hours before the start of the chunin exams. I was in my full battle gear with the scroll on my back and my bracelets containing Surume and Ichimonji. I knew the attack will happen so I came fully prepared. It didn't took long for people to fill up the arena. Half an hour before start of the event Naruto arrived as well. Surprisingly, just after the guests arrived, Sasuke arrived with Kakashi.

"Let the chunin exam finals commence." The Hokage finished his speech.

Everyone except for Naruto and Neji moved to the balcony.

Hayate Gekko, who was still alive this time, signalled to start the match.

Naruto unsealed his bo-staff instantly and rushed towards Neji. Neji activated his byakugan and did the same. They clashed with each other.

Neji was a close range fighter. But he is no one trick pony. Naruto fights in close and mid range. Both have fought against me. Our spars in our Genin days have given him experience against ranged weapons like bo-staff. Although it was first time for Naruto to fight a gentle fist user, but with his skills, he was able to keep Neji from gaining any advantage. As the fight continues with palm strikes and bo-staff, the crowd cheered. There are no flashy ninjutsu. Both opponents seemed to be closely matched. But that was not the case. Both Neji and Naruto have experience. Although Neji has a little more than Naruto, he has the superior strength and speed. Neji had to use much more strength in deflecting the unavoidable attacks than he used to while fighting me. Although Naruto hasn't landed any meaningful blow yet, but slowly but surely he was drained Neji's stamina.

In other hand he has gotten struck two times , but each time, he forced opened his tenketsu points with large amount of chakra.

After fighting for a while, when none of them gained any advantage, Neji started showing his cards.

"Eight trigrams vaccume palm !"

Naruto barely dodged the attack. And jumped back to create some distance. Then unsealing a kunai he threw it at Neji.

"Multi shadow kunai jutsu !"

One kunai turned to hundreds. I heard the gasps of Kurenai near me.

To Neji's credit, he immediately used rotation to deflect all the attacks. As the attack ended, Naruto rushed forward. Neji was panting heavily. That showed him an opening and Naruto wanted to end this fight. There was no fate talk in this fight. But pure show of strength, skill and determination. But Naruto forgot about one thing. It was a ninja fight. As soon as he closed the distance, Neji took his stance for eight trigram 64 palms. It was a trap to lure Naruto in.

But Naruto was no slouch. His reaction speed after sparring with me is pretty high.

Golden chains manifested from his back. There are nine of them. In an instance, they deflected all the 64 attacks.

Again everyone was surprised. Especially Kakashi. I could saw his surprise despite his mask.

"What are those chains Kakashi sensei ?"

Sakura asked.

".... Those are adementaite chakra chains ."

"Adementaite... ?" Ino asked.

"The chains that can restrain even a tailed beast. And don't ask anything else. Everything about it is classified." Kakashi warned.

Although everyone was curious, no one asked anything.

...with the kages...

"You have hidden him well, Hokage."Raikage Aye commented.

"What are you talking about ?" Hiruzen made a face like he is completely innocent and didn't know anything.

"Don't you dare, play a fool ! Blondie hair, blue eyes and those chakra chains that an Uzumaki should possess ! He's definitely there child. Minato and Kushina !"

The Hokage didn't say anything for a while.

"Hahaha ! I am looking forward to fight him in the future. If he is anything like his father !" Raikage laughed. It was a whisper. But there were rumours about the rivalry between fourth hokage and raikage to see who is faster.

"No, while Naruto kun have his looks, he is more like his mother. But I am sure there is someone else, you will find competing with your speed." The hokage smirked.

"Who ?" The Raikage gave him a surprising look.

"She is a tokubotsu jonin. Give her a couple of years to grow. And you will get another rival." Hiruzen was smug.

Raikage wasn't happy about it. But he didn't reply.

While both the kage were talking with each other, Orochimaru was frowning under the disguise of the Kazekage.

He didn't take account to this. Only pure blood Uzumaki should possess this ability. But it didn't matter anymore. Even with the adementaite chains it will be hard for them to restrain two tailed beasts. Kabuto was already targeting killer bee. So it would be only a matter of time.

...Naruto rushed towards Neji with greater speed. He has forced Neji to use rotation thrice in a row. So it's only a matter of time. Naruto continued his assault. He was even throughing some c-rank wind jutsu's just to keep Neji at a distance. It didn't took long. Neji was barely concious because of chakra exhaustion. A well aimed punch to the chin, knocked him down.

"The winner is Uzumaki Naruto !" As the proctor declared, the crowd errupted into cheers.

Neji was taken by medic nins. And Naruto came back to the balcony. The first match ended with Naruto being the winner.
