Danzo Shimura

"Lord Danzo, we haven't been able to locate Shisui's body…" A masked individual on one knee spoke.

Danzo was seated in a dark room, not even a hint of light survives this void.

"I cannot be sure Shisui is dead if we don't see a body. Don't stop your search for his body!" Danzo instructed his anbu member because he understood just how bad it would be if Shisui was alive as he feared he might come for him but more, he wanted his second eye.

Danzo was pleased that Itachi was able to carry out the eradication of the Uchiha clan but Danzo was a rational man, he knew that there was no way that Itachi could have done so alone.

He must have had assistance but from who?

Danzo knew Orochimaru's whereabouts and how much he craved power, this included his peculiar interest in the Uchiha clan but Orochimaru wasn't interested in just part of their power, he wanted everything so Danzo could rule him out considering he was under the Akatsuki at that point in time.

The Akatsuki were still small and Danzo was in constant communication with Orochimaru as they shared similar goals and ambitions.

He was aware that the Akatsuki was still expanding, and this meant that they were on the lookout for even more members.

Danzo Shimura was a cautious man and had no intentions of overlooking any detail he might have missed.

A speck of life soon penetrated the dark room to reveal jara full of eyes within them but these weren't just ordinary eyes, they were eyes that belonged to the Uchiha clan.

The Anbu that left Danzo's chambers wore an oni-like mask and for him to be able to address Danzo up close like that showed that he was a person that Danzo trusted somewhat.

"It must be nice…" A voice said behind the Anbu, but the difference in this person's mask was that it was more cat-like in comparison with a feminine voice being responsible for those words.

The oni masked individual continued walking.

"Yoji Aburame, the one responsible for Shisui's death…" The lady said mockingly, prompting the Roof Anbu to stop in place.

"Watch your next words carefully, Hinoto," Yoji warned.

"Lord Danzo has questioned your competence. That must hurt your prid-!" Before she could complete her words, she drew her blade to block the kunai that Yoji hurled at her, deflecting it into the ceiling above.

"D-Did you just show emotions?" Hinoto mocked him once again.

"Who are you?" Yoji asked, looking past Hinoto.

The woman soon realized that Yoji had no interest in her but what was more shocking was someone being able to approach her undetected.

She immediately turned in that direction to see a young bespectacled young man with ash-grey and a cloak over his head.

"No need to be on guard, I'm Kabuto and I'm here on business for Lord Orochimaru," Kabuto said.

"That mask… Yoji Aburame, huh?" Kabuto thought to himself, he did his homework and recognized the mask pattern of almost every root member as this was their identification so to speak and he excelled at Intel gathering.

Yoji was an Aburame but not just any Aburame, he could use a special species of insect called "Kochū".

These insects had a slow-acting poison that paralyzed their victims before ultimately killing them but the terrifying aspect of it was the ability to disappear after the victim had died, leaving no traces.

Kabuto only heard rumours of his strength but he didn't know the exact mechanics behind his ability and had no intentions of finding out.

Yoji heard footsteps behind him and immediately got on one knee alongside Hinoto.

It was Danzo, Danzo looked right at Kabuto before turning around but this time Kabuto trailed his footsteps, walking past the Aburame.

"I have a bad feeling about this…" Yoji thought to himself but at that moment, a silhouetted head phased through the ceiling, mere meters from the deflected kunai was, to spy on whatever was going on below.

"He's the only survivor?" An elderly woman asked as she stood above an unconscious boy.

"I'm afraid so, Lady Saki," A nurse said and Saki's eyes squinted as she wondered just what level of trauma this boy must be going through.

This boy was no other than Sasuke Uchiha but Saki knew from his current state that he must have been involved in some sort of scuffle.

Did he encounter Itachi and why didn't Itachi kill him?

There was no way Sasuke was a match for him but she could ask all those questions when he awoke.

Right now, all they needed to do was make sure he woke up from this coma.

"Lord Third!" A nurse greeted in the hallway and Hirizen soon walked into the room to see Sasuke for himself.

"Sasuke Uchiha, eh?" Hiruzen thought; Itachi had spoken to him right before going rogue and he knew the value that Sasuke held.

Hiruzen couldn't trust Danzo not to do anything rash despite Itachi threatening him.

Danzo went behind his back and made such a drastic decision but Hiruzen knew deep down that this was necessary for the good of the village but was it really?

What if Shisui was allowed to use Kotoamatsukami on Fugaku Uchiha? Would things have turned out differently?

This was information that Hiruzen didn't have the option of exploring anymore, he had to make do with their current reality but he wasn't going to leave Danzo to his own devices and this was why he gave Kinoe (Yamato) the task of watching Danzo seeing as he was once in the root and had preexisting knowledge of how they operated.

"Was this truly the only way…" Hiruzen thought to himself as this made yet another orphan in Konohagakure.

But little did he know the fate that awaited the Shinobi world for an aberration that shouldn't exist in their time existed and that was Shisui Uchiha.
