Chapter 32 -- Disease

"So have you decided what to tell everyone ?" Adam asked Lex as they walked together towards the village hall, that was where the meeting to discuss Lex's condition was being held.

'What was that dream all about, where those memories or just some random dream ?. But a random dream can't be that specific so they must have been memories. If that's the case, what did father do to have people want to kill me ?.And are the people who were after me the ones who killed him and mom instead? When my father told me to be careful when he was in the system, was he talking about these people? then who helped me escape? is it the same person who has been paying my school fees and expenses all this time ?'

Lex's head had begun to hurt as all those questions circulated in his mind, he desperately needed answers but had no one to turn to... except.. {I can't help you. I was programmed after all that happened and i was not given any information on the matter}

{Angela ! you're back! im so sorry for what i said} {.....} Silence.

Lex sighed as Angela went back to ignoring him, but at least she spoke to him, so he knew she was still there. Lex started wondering when his father would come back. Apparently he had used too much energy for Lex to escape the ambush back at the cave so he needed to recharge.

Lex was really curious about his father, his most burning question was about how his consciousness or soul or whatever was still around after his real self had died long ago.

"Lex!!! Dude?!!" Adam's voice snapped Lex back to reality as he finally lifted his head after walking with it facing the ground, deep in thought.

"What's wrong Lex ? and don't say it's nothing otherwise.....i don't even know what I'll do" Adam warned.

"I had a dream about my parents" Lex admitted.

Adam was stunned. He had been waiting for this day but never thought he would see it so soon. The day Lex would finally open up about his parents.

"Are you okay ?" he asked with concern.

"Yah I'm fine but I don't wanna talk about the details of the dream, it's too long a story." Lex told.

"Whenever you're ready, I'm just happy you opened up to me, even if just a little bit." Adam said with a warn smile, prompting Lex to smile back.

"Hey i just thought of something, you know this mystery of who gives you money every month right ? , well after you told me that story of your father i thought, what if it was that man who works for your father, I think his name was Alfred?."

Lex had to admit that Adam was onto something. It was the only plausible explanation, but Lex had no way to track him down anyway.

"You know, you might be right for once" Lex said

"What do you mean 'for once' im always right." Adam retorted.

"Anyway, i was asking what you are going to tell everyone, are you gonna lie , tell the whole truth or twist the truth ?" Adam inquired.

Lex had thought about it for sometime and decided it was best to hide his race from the world. His father had lived without telling anyone, including his own wife for many years. Lex knew that it might have been very hard to live with such a secret but his father did it and there had to be a very valid reason for that. A reason far more dangerous than the military.

His father also told Lex to be careful, Lex thought he meant to be careful of the military but now another thought came into mind. What if there was something else out there hunting him , something too dangerous for him to handle. Lex was still way to weak to do anything if he was attacked by even a small organization much less something with more power than the military.

There where also the people who had killed his parents. Lex was sure that they where still looking for him. In his previous dreams, his mother had told him to run away, which meant that whoever killed them was after him. In his most recent dream he discovered that he had something that would put his life in danger, probably the same thing his parent's killers where, or most probably still are after.

Somehow the killers had lost track of him, and if he told his team the secret, something might happen, causing the secret to leak out of his group. If that happens those people may find him and definitely kill him to obtain whatever it is that he has. Lex even wondered if it might be his dragon blood that was the target of the killers.

"No i am not telling anyone anything, I need to think of a lie" Lex answered Adam, who didn't reply and just nodded.

The duo arrived at the hall and proceeded to enter. As they did they noticed that the whole team had already arrived and where looking at the two with stars in their eyes, all except for Michael.

'Oh i guess it has finally registered to them that we are now rank two Cultivators' Lex thought after seeing the looks of determination on the team's faces.

Two girls from that group stood up and ran to the open arms of their respective significant other. Linda and Tina probably did this to mark their territory, most likely to Mia, who was watching with the smile of an Angel. That smile though, was most likely perceived differently by the two girls in Lex and Adam's arms.

"Okay we get it girls can you please sit down" Laura said with a light smile on her face.

After the girls sat down, all eyes where on Lex, and Adam who was for some reason still standing beside his brother.

"Hey guys, I'm sure you are all wondering what happened to me yesterday, i hear you where all worried, some more than others" Lex smiled at Linda and took a deep breath before resuming.

"My parents where killed when i was about 7, i saw both of them die before my very own eyes, and almost everyday I get nightmares about the incident. The night after we got our systems though my father came to me in a dream. It didn't even feel like a dream at all it all felt so real.

During this dream he told me a lot of stuff, most of which i have forgotten. However, what i still remember is that he apparently suffered from a rare disease called 'Dracaisis'--."

Lex's speech was interupted when a sound vame from his side. That sound came from Adam who seemed to be trying his best to suppress a laugh. He then covered his mouth with his hand as he faked a cough.

"Sorry captain, allergies, you may continue" He said to Lex.

"My father told me that there was a high chance that the disease may have been passed down to me as well, he said the symptoms are quite similar to a seizure and happen after every breakthrough."

"The last thing i remember is him telling me not to even try to cure it as it was impossible and made me promise not to tell anyone about this."
