Chapter 6: Second Trait

Thirteen Individuals covered by a dark veil of shadow were gathered in a big room on the highest floor of the Vestige Hall. You can't see much in their appearance except for the mark in their right hand. Every individual has different marks that seemingly correspond for every Zodiac in the sky.

They were all sitting in an orderly manner,  discussing something important.

"Someone managed to open that."

A man with a Leo's mark announced. You can't see much of his appearance but his large build couldn't be hidden.

"What!"

"How's that possible? We clearly sealed that."

The other twelve couldn't help but be shaken by the news. Clearly, it was something dangerous that even needed to be sealed.

"How many years was it, since it was last opened?"

A Woman with Aquarius mark asked.

"It's been a hundred years since it was first opened, and the one who opened it caused terror to all living." A man with a Capricorn mark couldn't help but worry.

"Should we kill him?" A man with a Sagittarius mark suggested.

"No, Let's observe first if he will be an ally," A woman with Libra's mark interjected, "If not, Let's kill him."

Five minutes away from the dorm of 1st Year was a training facility called the 'Rookie Training Center.' This 1000 square meter facility was filled with magical devices and equipment for exercise and training. It also has a Sparring Area made of high-quality material, so it will not be easily destroyed.

The amount of money needed to construct such an environment would be well over a hundred million credits, but there was barely anyone using the facility.

But just because the training facility was empty, it didn't mean the future of the students here was bleak.

While students were would-be Heroes that would come to receive the admiration and envy of billions of people, they were still teenagers. Simply put, there weren't many high schoolers willing to go out of their way to train on the first day.

"I knew you'd be here."

But an exception always existed. Even Hero Academy had a pervert who enjoyed training from the first day. Ye Xuan, who was drenched in sweat and wrestling with exercise equipment, widened his eyes at the sudden voice.

"Chang Sooyeon? You're also here to train?"

"Yeah, but I won't be as barbaric as you."

With a wry smile, Chang Sooyeon pointed at the suppression room. Seeing the terrifying cylindrical room, Ye Xuan frowned.

"That's a tough one. I can never last long there."

Ye Xuan wiped his sweat with a towel he brought.

Suppression Room is the latest cutting edge technology, it's the advanced version of the Gravitational Room. This room suppresses anything inside of it, the gravity, weight, physical strength, energy and even the mind. That's why it's the best room to train the body and mind.

"It's not like you can't, you're just not used to it. I used a spear, so I need to train there too. Plus, it's not that hard. I've been doing it since I was a kid."

"Since you're a kid?, How old? "

"I already forgot the exact time when I first used one but yeah, I have one in my house."

"… Aha."

Setting up a suppression room costs at least several hundreds of millions of credits. From what Chang Sooyeon said, it could be inferred that she's crazy rich. Well, as expected of the successor of the Chang Family, the descendants of one of the first heroes.

Compared to other kids with high status in life, Chang Sooyeon has a sense of righteousness and believed in hard-word and self-improvement but also has a twisted pride when it comes to Elysium

"…Oh, right. There's an interesting guy in our class now."

Ye Xuan mentioned, to which Chang Sooyeon tilted her head curiously.

".....Interesting? They all look mediocre to me. Oh, but there's that farmer or whatever, I don't remember his name.

"Uh, yeah, him....What with that look? Do you not like him?"

Like Ye Xuan pointed out, Chang Sooyeon face was stiffening frighteningly.

"Why the hell there's a guy like him in this prestigious school of Elysium. If he wants to be a farmer, he should just quit. The school doesn't need a guy like him."

Azazel chose a scythe as a weapon for combat, but others just assumed that he gave up and became a farmer instead.

"I think he's really serious about the scythe as a weapon."

"Bullsh*t, no one will use a scythe if they're serious."

For a moment, slight anger emerged from Chang Sooyeon's eyes. Ye Xuan's tone didn't sit well with her.

"…Kuhum. Sorry."

"Anyway, Do you know where Sierra and Tetsu is? Ciel is already asleep."

"Sierra's in the suppression room next to mine and Tetsu are mostly reading books in his room"

"What the..... She left me in the dorm for this and why the hell Tetsu likes to read books so much despite having a large build, isn't it the other way around."

"Well, I'm going now."

"Yeah, see you later."

"Please, I'm right next doors…"

Chang Sooyeon smirked and went into the suppression room.

The suppression room multiplied the gravity by a certain factor, thus increasing the pressure on one's bloodstream. It also restricts one's movement and energy causing the training in this cylindrical room required one to operate only their willpower under heavy pressure and gravity, and it was easily one of the most painful training methods.

**

Inside the dormitory room, I closed my eyes and held my breath.

No, I didn't hold it; I just couldn't. It's as if there's something unknown restricting me from breathing. The same goes for my eyes—I didn't close them by choice. I'm experiencing a stabbing pain in my eyes, as if a thousand needles are piercing them.

If I just know I will experience an excruciating pain, I wouldn't drink it.

A few minutes Prior.....

"What's this ring?" Confused, Azazel took the ring in the box and inspected it.

The Black ring doesn't have much difference compared to a normal ring except for some engraving I don't recognize.

Could it be.....

I sent some mana to the ring to confirm something.

Just as I expected, the ring reacted.

It was a dimensional ring.

Inside of the ring, are the five treasures I gained at the Vestige Hall.

Extracting the five treasures from the ring, I placed them meticulously on the table, scrutinizing each item.

[Twilight King's Severing Art]

[Grim Reaper's Hooded Robe]

[Twilight King's Scythe]

[Potion Awakening]

[Mysterious Egg]

Undoubtedly, these are the treasures acquired at the Vestige Hall, yet the mystery shrouding the last two intrigues me. Quill assures their significance, and I anticipate their unique utility to unfold in due time.

Still, I need to confirm their uses, especially the [Awakening Potion]. It stated that it uses for awakening the dormant trait, which I don't know if I ever had. For the Egg, it's already obvious that it's an egg of some beast for taming. So I'm left with the Potion.

I first brought the [Awakening Potion] nearer, swiftly bringing it to my lips and consuming its contents in a mouthful.

...!!!!

As I finished consuming the Potion, I felt my throat heating up, breathing became harder too as an unknown force is preventing me from breathing.

"Argh!!!"

Just as I thought it would not become much harder, I felt a stabbing pain in my eyes causing me to close it. I couldn't help but scream because of the excruciating pain I'm feeling.

After a few minutes of relentless suffering, the excruciating pain subsidies.

'Is it a success?'

'Status Window'. With a thought, A translucent blue sscreen appeared in front of me.

'It really works!!!'

A second trait appeared in my status window, and an SSS Rank trait no less.

Spirit Eyes, huh?

What can it do? With a thought, a description of the trait appeared.

-bestow upon their possessor the extraordinary ability to perceive the unseen.

Skill:

[Basic weapon art (D)]

Bestow upon their possessor the extraordinary ability to perceive the unseen?

Does it give me the ability to see spirits? If it is, it's theoretically possible for me to be a spiritualist.

Well, I will know about it in the near future.

For the Main course, I brought the Martial Art Technique [Twilight King's Severing Art] near me, a scythe technique used by someone named Twilight king.

Finding a Scythe technique is my business in the Vestige Hall after all.

As I carefully opened the worn leather cover of the book, a surge of ancient knowledge flowed into my mind. Words leaped off the pages, weaving a vivid complexity of expertise. I felt a profound connection to the Technique, as if the essence of mastery was now within my grasp. With each absorbed chapter, my scythe skills sharpened, and I successfully learned the first form of the Twilight King's Severing Art, the Severing Space.
