She Who Called Wolf

[WARNING: MATURE CONTENT] "Maybe we're not as different as you think." ~~~ Lydia isn't who she thinks she is, nor is she who her father says she is.  She's been lied to and by the one person she thought was supposed to care about her.  He wants her to be a hunter and has trained her to hate wolves but once the wolf Lydia killed took the form of a human boy, she was forced to abandon everything she once thought she knew.   She didn't know of shifters until an argument with her father left her bruised and running through the forest, and into banned territory no less. Lydia wandered up into possession of the notorious Alpha Lucian of the shifters pack.  There, Lydia learns more about herself and the secrets her father has been keeping. Alpha Lucian is a merciless man who succeeds with efforts. But he is also the lonely Alpha without a Luna.  Despite that Lucian does not want a mate, he no longer believes in mating, or a bond at first sight as he calls it, and prefers desire over a intimacy. Lucian has been disconnected from his wolf for many years after an incident of the past which caused them to lose their Luna. However he is left speechless when his wolf finally awakens, every hair on his body in shock once his possessive wolf feels an instant connection to the young girl.  The only problem is… She is forbidden. ~~~~~ I flinched but was pulled back to him, "You may only be  a girl, Lydia. But it is your heart that shows who you are. You're lost, broken, once a scared girl who called wolf but no one listened. You're traumatized by the rage of your memories, by hate, but it is that which leads you to insanity." He stared into my eyes, his grip on my wrists tightening, "I wish to figure you out, little sheep. I will be the one to listen to you. I wish to see past this skin and see you, until we are not different but one. Please be one with me, Lydia." He whispered and my eyes widened. ~~~~~ ***Expert*** Her eyes met mine and I felt my pulse quicken, it felt as if electricity was coursing through my veins. Those green saddened eyes ignited a flame inside me, one that grew stronger seeing her in despair.  Whatever this feeling is, I do not like it.  Longing and emptiness.  I didn't know what was happening. My chest burnt and I clenched my fist. It felt as though I was fighting for control over my body—to not go after her. She was so tiny and looked like a scared little girl with her knees clutched to her chest. And for a second I wanted to pull her against me and hold her as she cried.  The voice in my head continued to scream, 'Save her!' Those two words sounded repeatedly. Could this control be…my wolf? No, it couldn't be, my wolf and I have been disconnected for years. He couldn't possibly be back. Why was he back?  The aching feeling in my chest did not cease and his voice screamed even louder. 'You must not let her die, Lucian!' ____________ Cover is not mine, credit goes out to the rightful artist. [1-2 chapters daily] [Warning: This book may contain mature content.]

Through the forest [Part 2]

"I d-didn't know." I shook my head, "I'm sorry, I didn't…" The sight was horrible, making me physically and mentally sick. I spurred continuous sorries and then spewed into the bush.

Lucian coughed, blood running from his mouth. "…Why do…you kneel here before me and cry. You are not going to continue your running? There's a stake through me, isn't that the best opportunity for you to take leave?"

I chewed on my lip and looked at his state, "No." I said sniffling, "I do not know which type of person that would make me. This town is in no need more selfish persons." I stood and walked to him, keeping the ball in throat that I am was vomit down when I touched the bloody stake through his chest.

He groaned through his gritted teeth and I grimaced, emphasizing with hi pain. "I caused you this pain so I will help you out of it. Only after I will make my escape." I tried pushing the steak out but it pulled his flesh it. "What should I do?" I panic, seeking his face for guidance. "I'll only hurt you more if I am to push it out of you. Please you need to speak to me, Lucian." I tug at the collar at his shirt, forcing him to open  his closing eyes. "I need you to stay awake and speak to me."

I cupped his face and he opened his eyes. "Just focus on my eyes, okay. Don't look away." He did as I said and stared directly into my eyes.

Licking his lips he spoke, "Though pushing it out will certainly hurt me, that is all that can done. Go behind me and pull when I begin to walk."

I nodded and went behind him, fixing my grip on the stake and only started to pull when he began to walk. I heard groans as the stake was ripped out on him and eventually he was freed, falling to his knees. I rushed to his front and applied pressure on his gushing chest.

"You must go back."

"No." He mumurred and I cocked my head at him.

"No? What do mean no? Don't tell me you plan to continue ahead in this condition. You have lost far to much blood."

"There is no need to return," He removed my hand from his chest and tore a piece of his shirt. He held out to me, "wrap me, do it."

I frowned and took the cloth, placing my arms around his neck when  I knotted it at his back. "It is your funeral."

"This is the only chance I have. The more it is the delayed the more the lives that is lost." He pressed his palms into his knees and stood using a nearby tree to guide his weight.

I followed him, "Walking when you've lost so much blood will only make you light headed. Soon fatigue will start to hit, do you not understand the risks of this."

"You sound like a doctor." He did not take me seriously, "I do not need your opinions, Lydia. I have made up my mind and you will have no say in it. So please remain silent you irritate me."

I pursed my lips, "Irritate you? I am only trying to help—"

"I do not need your fucking help! You can not help me!" He shouted, "And have forgotten it is you who got me in this state."

"I understand that you hate me I do but—"

"But what? What would you like to add, girl? When would it be clear to you I care so little of what you have to say."

For once I had nothing left to say. My head was blank and I only stared at him. 'I care so little of what you have to say.' His words attacked my mind, my heart and soul. Shattered. 'I care so little…' The words rang continuously and I pictured them coming out from my father's mouth instead of his.

"Lydia?!" I heard Lucian called and snapped out of my thoughts. My heart was racing and my hands shaking. I looked around the forest reminding my self of where I was and where I wasn't.

I blinked and massaged my temples. "I'm sorry." I said barely above a whisper and he stared at me, confused.

I followed him in silence up until we reached a fenced facility.

"Here." I heard him say and he took my wrist, pulling me down so that we were hidden.

"Why did you bring me here?"

"That fence. I need you help me find a way inside."

"I don't know how to do that. I've never inside there before." I told him, "You can not expect so much from me. Even if we were to find a way across the fence, there's camera's lining every wall. We'll be caught in action."

"So you've been inside?"

"I..." It made sense lying, "I have yes but still no one can go inside without being allowed in." The facility was built by the mayor, a place for hunters and their research, one that my father is considered a member of, being the town's sheriff so I was sometimes welcomed in by him.

Lucian was desperate and insisted. "You're human. Go."

"Wait," I said suddenly, remembering a left out detail, "there is another way in." I stood, "A back entrance,"  Father usually took the back when he wanted to enter the lab directly. "I will back."

"Do you seriously believe that I will allow you leave alone to run off again?"

"Fine." I rolled my eyes, "Feel free to run your body to exhaustion."

We walked to back of the building and like I suspected the metal door had remained in its same position. "There." I pointed to it. I only needed to enter the numbers and from being at my father's side, I recalled exactly where he pressed his fingers and the numbers which registered on the lock he created. 5 digits—34962. I added numbers in, my brows knitting when the lock did not budge. I did it again but the results remained the same.

"Its not working." I shook and looked over my shoulder at him.

"What do you mean its not fucking working?"

"Like its not working. Its incorrect. Father must of changed it. The code has expired."

"Try it again!"

"I'm trying but its just not working—"

"Hey you two! What you do think you're doing over there?"
