Lydia wandered up into possession of the notorious Alpha Lucian of the shifters pack.  There, Lydia learns more about herself and the secrets her father has been keeping. Alpha Lucian is a merciless man who succeeds with efforts. But he is also the lonely Alpha without a Luna.  Despite that Lucian does not want a mate, he no longer believes in mating, or a bond at first sight as he calls it, and prefers desire over a intimacy. Lucian has been disconnected from his wolf for many years after an incident of the past which caused them to lose their Luna. However he is left speechless when his wolf finally awakens, every hair on his body in shock once his possessive wolf feels an instant connection to the young girl.  The only problem is… She is forbidden. ~~~~~ I flinched but was pulled back to him, "You may only be  a girl, Lydia. But it is your heart that shows who you are. You're lost, broken, once a scared girl who called wolf but no one listened. You're traumatized by the rage of your memories, by hate, but it is that which leads you to insanity." He stared into my eyes, his grip on my wrists tightening, "I wish to figure you out, little sheep. I will be the one to listen to you. I wish to see past this skin and see you, until we are not different but one. Please be one with me, Lydia." He whispered and my eyes widened. ~~~~~ ***Expert*** Her eyes met mine and I felt my pulse quicken, it felt as if electricity was coursing through my veins. This strange feeling

[LUCIAN: "THIS STRANGE FEELING."]

HER EYES MET MINE AND I felt my pulse quicken, it felt as if electricity was coursing through my veins. Those green saddened eyes ignited a flame inside me, one that grew stronger seeing her in despair.

Whatever this feeling is, I do not like it.

Longing and emptiness.

I didn't know what was happening. My chest burnt and I clenched my fist. It felt as though I was fighting for control over my body—to not go after her. She was so tiny and looked like a scared little girl with her knees clutched to her chest. And for a second I wanted to pull her against me and hold her as she cried.

The voice in my head continued to scream, 'Save her!' Those two words sounded repeatedly. Could this control be…my wolf? No, it couldn't be, my wolf and I have been disconnected for years. He couldn't possibly be back. Why was he back?

The aching feeling in my chest did not cease and his voice screamed even louder.

'You must not let her die, Lucian!'

"Stop!" I shouted, my voice echoing through the small room. My wolf, he was back and he was rebellious. I could not fight the transformation. I groaned as my bones cracked and shifted until I was on all fours. 'We must save her.'

My wolf growled and we sprinted toward the girl. I lunged at the black wolf and toppled over him, snapping at his neck. My wolf was angered. The wolf struggled against my weight, he was much smaller than me and I saw fear in his eyes. He knew he could not have won. He kicked at me but his attempts were futile. I clamped my jaw down on his throat and twisted my head, snapping the rogue's neck effortlessly.

The rogue's body went still and I turned to the crying girl. There was fright in her eyes, something I did not mind but my wolf on the other hand did. Her chest rose and fell harshly and she raised her hand to hide her face from me. My wolf was furious, hating that she was injured.

I shifted to two feet again and stared at her but she looked away.  The hairs on the back of my neck stood from close proximity. Her breath was against my lips and our heartbeats mixed together creating a rhythm. I lifted my hands to her face and she flinched. I sighed inwardly and placed my thumbs on her cheeks. Her pale skin was soft and supple and I wiped the glossy tears from under her eyes.

I could not have denied the goosebumps that crawled along my skin when I made contact with her, a volt of electricity that spiked my heart rate.

Why has my wolf taken a liking to her, after all this time, why has he returned and for such a feeble, weak girl and human nonetheless. That angered me.

I narrowed my eyes at her, confused and irritated, "You're eyes." Her eyes captivated and comforted me, warming my body. It was a feeling I've never felt before.  I tilted my head at her and lowered my thumb to her plump pink lips, tracing it, "Who are you?"  What was the reason for my wolf protecting her? She is simply an intruder, an unwelcome human who disrespected my territory. She does not belong here, no matter how my wolf reacts, I can not accept this.

She leaned into my touch, her eyes fluttering as she tried to stay awake, but she had lost too much blood. She was tiny but she sure was strong, having gotten through that crash at the forest and now the deep scratch on her leg, it took much to stay conscious.

I smelled the blood on her body, it was different but I could determine what it was.

"What shall we do with her, Alpha?"

I looked down at the unconcious girl, and once realizing that she was still in my arms, stood and balled my fist, "Wasn't you the one who decided to spare her life. I should be asking you."

"Oh it's just that I did not expect you to agree with me. Why the sudden change of mind? And what would the pack think? I only wanted to spare her life but you seem to want her to stay with us. I am not sure about the escalation of this."

"You are right." I said,"She would be useful, and as for the pack, I am they're alpha, if they were to find out, they should understand. They will." I looked down at the girl, "Besides I do not plan to keep her." I only need a few answers, once they are answered she would be of no use to me. There were advantages to having a human, this way I can have an inside view on the outside world.

She would be a spy and a servant….that's all she would ever be to me.

I turned to Hannah, my assistant and two trusted friends, Adam and Jason. "This is not to be known to the others or outside this pack. Her blood is not like the humans I have met, I do not think they will know unless she proves them otherwise. She shall be considered, if questioned, a late shifter."

"Are we to leave her here, Alpha. Her wounds may kill her." Hannah asked and I shook my head.

"Call on, Diann. She will be responsible to get her clothes and a suitable room."

Hannah left the room but Jason and Adam remained, they had questions but refrained from asking seeing my sullen mood. They knew not to interfere in such times.

"Speak."

Jason, as expected for such a chatter, stepped forward and scratched the back of neck, "A human, huh?" He tutted, "Never knew you to be the one to ever allow such here. Is there something bothering you, Lucian?"

"My wolf—" I cleared my throat, "Connor has returned to me."

Jason's eyes widened, he was as shocked as was, "But that's almost impossible, why did he return now?" He then glanced at the girl, he is the sharpest to stand at my side, it was expected that he caught on quickly. He lowered his voice, "Must it be because of…that girl?"

"I do not know but despite Connor's outburst, that girl means nothing to me."

"Alpha? You called on me? " Diann, a trusted doctor in our pack, entered the room.

"Yes." I gestured to the girl, "You are responsible for her, treat her wounds and get her tidied. You are free to use her as you must. Teach her to stand at your side."

Connor was not happy with my words.

Diann shook her head, "That would be no need, sir." She wrapped her palm around the girl's wrist, "She would not be able to do my work with such a weak frame. But I will treat her wounds the best that I can." She bowed her head and I gave her a curt nod before I exited the room, immediately greeted to coldness.

The girl was still on my mind, her soft skin still on my fingertips and her green eyes still of a spell to my body despite no longer being in the same room with her. Why was it that she had such effects?

What is this strange feeling…
