God And The Devil

As I stood there, frozen in shock, Father Gabriel slowly emerged from his hiding place. He approached me, his eyes filled with compassion, and gently took my arm. "Come, my son," he said. "We need to get you out of here. You're not safe."

I nodded, still in a daze, and let him lead me away from the carnage. We walked through the empty pews, the only sound being the creaking of the old wooden benches. As we reached the entrance, I saw the police cars pulling up outside, their sirens blaring.

Father Michael opened the door, and I stumbled out into the bright sunlight, gasping for air. The officers rushed towards me, their faces filled with concern. "Daniel, what happened?" one of them asked.

I tried to speak, but my voice caught in my throat. Father Michael took over, explaining the events that had unfolded. As he spoke, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. Maybe, just maybe, I would finally be safe from Sam's grasp.

But as I looked back at the dead bodies in the church, I saw something that made my blood run cold. On the floor, scrawled in bloody red letters, was the name my mom used to call me: "Danny."

I knew then that my nightmare was far from over.

As we walked away from the church, Father Gabriel turned to me and asked, "Daniel, can you tell me what you really think happened?"

I shook my head, trying to process the events. "I don't know, Father. It's like...Sam the mastermind behind this carnage had some kind of mind control over those people. But that's impossible, right? I mean, scientifically speaking?"

Father Gabriel's expression was grave. "Daniel, that was no ordinary mind control. This was something sinister, something supernatural."

I scoffed. "Supernatural? You mean like ghosts and demons?"

He nodded solemnly. "Yes, Daniel. I'm afraid so. And it's clear that Sam is not just any ordinary human being."

I felt a shiver run down my spine. "What are you saying, Father?"

"I'm saying that Sam may be something much darker. And if that's the case, then you need to be prepared for what's to come."

I shook my head, trying to clear the cobwebs of confusion clouding my mind,

"But what does this have to do with anything? Why are you talking about the supernatural?"

Father Gabriel's eyes locked onto mine. "Because, Daniel, if you believe in God, then you must also believe in the Devil. And if Sam is indeed the Devil incarnate..."

I felt my anger rising. "What are you saying? That Sam is the Devil? That's ridiculous!"

Father Gabriel's expression was calm. "I'm not saying that, Daniel. But I am saying that you need to consider the possibility."

If that was the case, then I needed to ask myself what that made me?

I felt like I'd been punched in the gut.

The only logical explanation I could come up with, for Sam's merciful behavior towards me, was that Sam was my biological father aka Samson Forge. The idea sickened me, but I couldn't shake it off.

Father Gabriel placed a hand on my shoulder. "Don't overthink it, Daniel. Not everything can be understood by the human mind. Sometimes, we just need to have faith."

I looked at him, unsure of what to say. Faith? I wasn't sure I believed in anything anymore.
