“You said they don’t break out the booze until eight,” she pointed out. Though work ended at five, and she only lived a few minutes away, she wanted as long as possible to change into her costume. It wasn’t much, but she wanted to spend some time on her hair and makeup, to ensure she reallylooked her best. Eric would definitely be seeing a side of her he hadn’t before.
Eric laughed. “No, no, the booze comes out at five. The guy brews his own beer, so he practically hands you a cold one when you walk in the door. The kids just hide out in the den around eight or so, when he turns on the TV so they can watch Halloween specials. Don’t worry, you’ll get plenty to drink.”
“What are youdressing up as tonight?” she asked.
He gave her a wink. “You’ll have to wait and see.”
