Chapter 30: Time-Space Distortion

After sealing the infinity pool on the 42nd floor, Alex and Kai thought Silver Moon Apartments would have a period of calm. However, fate seemed to have other plans.

Late that night, Alex was awakened by a strange vibration. He sat up to find the entire room trembling slightly. The wall clock was spinning wildly, sometimes fast, sometimes slow, its hands even beginning to rotate counterclockwise.

"Kai, wake up!" Alex nudged Kai beside him, "Something's wrong."

Kai immediately sat up alertly, "I feel it, the energy flow of the entire building has become chaotic."

Just then, their room door suddenly disappeared, replaced by a mirror. The reflection in the mirror wasn't their bedroom, but the scene of the lobby.

"Is this... a time-space distortion?" Alex said in surprise.

Kai nodded, his expression grave, "It seems the Void forces have finally begun a full-scale invasion. We need to act quickly, or the entire Silver Moon Apartments will collapse."

They carefully passed through the mirror into the lobby. But the situation here was even worse. The ceiling and floor constantly exchanged positions, when the elevator doors opened, there were rolling waves inside, and the reception desk had turned into a giant hourglass with sand flowing upwards.

"God, this is insane," Alex muttered, looking at the chaotic scene around them.

Just then, they heard screams. Florea was being pulled towards a suddenly appearing black hole, her vines gripping tightly to the floor, but obviously not able to hold on for long.

"Florea! Hold on!" Kai shouted, as he and Alex immediately rushed forward.

Alex concentrated, trying to control the black hole with his abilities. But this black hole seemed unaffected by him, instead growing larger.

"It's no use," a voice came from behind. They turned to see Leo's apparition floating there, his expression serious, "This isn't an ordinary time-space distortion. The Void forces are eroding the foundation of Silver Moon Apartments."

"Then what should we do?" Kai asked anxiously, while using his shadow powers to wrap around Florea, trying to pull her back.

Leo pointed to the center of the lobby, where a giant clock had suddenly appeared, "That's the core of time. You must stabilize it, or the entire Silver Moon Apartments will be pulled into the time-space turbulence."

Alex and Kai exchanged a glance and nodded. They struggled through the constantly changing terrain, finally reaching the clock.

"What now?" Alex asked, looking at the wildly spinning clock hands.

"We need to synchronize it," Kai said, "with our mind power. Remember what we learned in the Mind Library?"

Alex nodded, taking a deep breath. They reached out, touching the surface of the clock. Instantly, a powerful energy flowed through their bodies, and Alex felt as if he was experiencing all of Silver Moon Apartments' history.

He saw scenes of the architect creating this building, countless residents' laughter and tears, every battle against the Void forces. These memories and emotions converged into a powerful force, beginning to stabilize the chaotic time-space.

However, just as they thought they had succeeded, a dark force suddenly emerged.

"It's Zack!" Kai exclaimed, recognizing his brother corrupted by the Void forces.

Zack's figure flickered in and out of the distorted space, his laughter echoing through the lobby, "Foolish brother, you think this can stop the Void's invasion?"

A black lightning bolt shot from Zack's hand, heading straight for Alex and Kai. Kai immediately deployed a shadow barrier, but under the influence of the time-space distortion, the barrier became unstable.

"Alex, focus!" Leo's voice sounded in their ears, "Use your connection, create a stable space!"

Alex closed his eyes, feeling Kai's presence. Their heartbeats gradually synchronized, their breathing becoming uniform. Slowly, a golden light dome formed around them, isolating the chaotic time-space outside.

Zack's attack dissipated upon contact with the light dome. He let out an angry roar, "Impossible! How could you..."

But before he could finish, he was pulled away by a suddenly appearing force, disappearing into the distorted space.

With Zack's departure, the time-space of Silver Moon Apartments began to gradually stabilize. The lobby returned to normal, Florea landed safely on the ground, and the giant clock disappeared.

Alex and Kai collapsed on the ground, breathing heavily.

"Did we... did we succeed?" Alex asked weakly.

Leo's apparition floated to their side, a satisfied smile on his face, "Yes, you did it. You not only stabilized the time-space but also created a powerful defensive barrier. Zack and the Void forces won't be able to invade again for a while."

Kai struggled to sit up, "But this is only temporary, right? They'll come back."

Leo nodded, his expression turning serious, "That's right. This invasion was just the beginning. The Void forces are gathering, and the next attack will be more fierce. You must be prepared."

Alex held Kai's hand, feeling the power flowing between them, "We will be. Whatever happens, we'll face it together."

Kai returned a warm smile, "Yes, we're a team, we'll never be apart."

As they stood up, Alex noticed new runes appearing on the lobby walls. These runes glowed with a soft light, seeming to express Silver Moon Apartments' gratitude.

"It seems Silver Moon Apartments has acknowledged you as its true guardians," Leo said, "It will provide you with more power and protection. But remember, greater power means greater responsibility."

Alex and Kai smiled at each other, then nodded solemnly. They knew the road ahead was still long, with more challenges waiting for them. But at this moment, they felt an unprecedented unity and strength.

When they returned to their room, Alex noticed the night sky outside was more brilliant than ever. The stars seemed to be cheering for their victory.

"You know," Alex said softly, leaning on Kai's shoulder, "Despite all these dangers, I still feel lucky."

Kai gently stroked Alex's hair, "Me too. Because I have you by my side."

They smiled at each other, then shared a gentle kiss. In this warm moment, all fears and anxieties temporarily dissipated. They knew that as long as they were together, there was nothing they couldn't overcome.
