Chapter 19

In the morning, Daniel and Lily got up with refreshed smiles on their faces before they went and showered together. It didn't take long, just 10 minutes.

After that, they had breakfast and went to the living room to relax a little while drinking some high quality tea.

"Darling, I want to talk about something important." Suddenly Lily spoke making Daniel look at her with a calm gaze.

"Sure," He said but his tone implied that he knew what she was going to talk about.

"That woman that entered the kitchen yesterday when we were cooking lunch, who is she?"

"A woman?" He said while tilting his head slightly but Lily didn't buy it at all and looked at him with deadpan expression without saying any other word.

"*Sigh* well, it's a slightly long story,"

"Brief it in 20 words."

"Well, she is a woman who I saved her life in the past from some people who was trying to kill her and her daughter, and because it was dangerous to live in their old house I offered to take them in and live in the mansion. But I found so much potential in them so I trained them."

"I said 20 words."

"You are asking the impossible." Daniel said before giving a kiss on her forehead making her expression soften and gained a red hue on her cheeks.

"*Sigh* What is her name?"

"Shuri."

"Clearly this Shuri is in love with you, no, she is deeply in love with you. You know that, right?"

"Yeah, why asking the obvious?" He asked with a slight confusion.

"Nothing, just want to know what is your opinion regarding her?" She asked back.

Daniel shifted his gaze to the TV that was turned on but didn't make any sound because it was muted.

He was musing a little.

Lily didn't say anything and just looked at him waiting for his answer. No sounds were heard and only the sound of the birds chirping was heard.

"I didn't think about relationships since I got to this world. The only thing that was in my mind was finding you, that was my only concern. Me saving her and offering her to live here in the mansion was an idea that came to my mind suddenly, I don't know why I told her to stay here but I felt that I would regret it if I didn't. I could have let her go anywhere other than here like going to Kyoto, it's a safe place and she could hide there. But maybe it's in my personality or something I don't know," Daniel said with a look that was mixed with confusion and uncertainty.

It was just an idea that came to his mind at that time. He didn't know why he told her to live with him here in his mansion but as he said, be felt that he would regret if he didn't.

It was as if something telling him to do it, motivating him.

Weird.

And strange.

Is it his desire or something else?

He didn't know and didn't want to anyway. What happened happened.

Looking at him, Lily felt something and wanted to make sure that her doubts were correct.

"Darling...do you like her?"

The sudden question made Daniel's eyes widen slightly before turning back to normal, but that didn't escape her observant eyes and never would.

Looking at his wife, Daniel smiled warmly at her before kissing her lips and taking her in his embrace by wrapping his arm around her waist and rubbing it slightly to feel how slim and smooth it was.

Lily didn't object on what he did, after all she was his and she loved him so much above all of that.

"What do you think would happen if a normal person lives under the same roof with a woman he didn't know?"

Lily just looked at him and didn't say a word.

"At first they will keep some distance because they don't know each other but slowly and after some time they will start to open to each other and start to get to know each other. Then slowly the distance between them will lessen and become closer and closer until they fall in love with each other, like a person cultivating a plant, he need to take care of it well so it will sprout and become a beautiful flower in the future. Relationships work the same way."

"Yeah, I know that well, but the person in what you said is a 'normal' not 'you'." Lily replied.

"Do you mean that I'm not normal?" Daniel said with confusion but his eyes hid a teasing smile behind.

"You already know the answer so stop pretending and tell me right away, do you like her or not?" Lily said with firm voice but it wasn't loud at all, still gentle and loving.

"Yes I like her but," he said straightforwardly before looking seriously and intensely at her making Lily feel her body heat going up and her face flushed from his sharp and intense gaze.

"You are and still the one who could make my heart beat and race like crazy, you are the woman who changed my life and turned it upside down, so take the responsibility for that~" Daniel said with the most charming smile that Lily had ever seen. And hearing these words made her feel how loved she was and how he cares for her. The proof was that he didn't make a move on Shuri or didn't say he liked her all this time before he met Lily.

Lily buried her face in his chest before muttering with husky voice "You're unfair~"

Daniel after all, although like that, he was a very observant person so he knew how Shuri looked at him. At first he didn't care about it as he was busy looking for Lily but as time passed he began to observe her more and see how lovely and caring she was, but he didn't have time for these feelings, his wife took his top priority and nothing mattered to him than her. But he still observed her and her gestures that were gentle, caring and somewhat cute.

But now with him finding her, he could rest his mind that was busy with Lily's whereabouts and could look more at these feelings that he knew very well, he knew himself better than anyone else.

He liked her and that was given as the time they spent together wasn't by any mean short. It was years you know.

Lily looked up at her husband, still in his embrace not backing away.

"Although I don't know how do I feel when my husband liked another woman but I know you very well and I know that this is quite normal in this world after all the strong take it all and you are by all means strong, very strong that I bet that there is anyone who could beat you, maybe Ophis or Great Red could put a fight against you but not matter what I can't accept this easily, I'm not that kind of women who liked to share, I just need sometime before I make a decision. And I think you need to continue training your powers because no one knows what the future hold for us, maybe there are some enemies who are far stronger than what we could imagine." Lily said.

Daniel nodded "You could take the time you want. And don't worry, I'm already planning to increase my training to gain more power so any unpredictable enemy couldn't harm those who I care for." His tone was calm.

Lily didn't say anything and just cuddled with Daniel while snuggling in his embrace and sniffing his smell that made her feel good.

'Yup, my husband is the best~ No he is the perfect man out of all men in the universe or else I won't have fallen in love with him in our previous life and still love him more and more~ Oh gosh I think I'm falling even deeper~.' She thought. Somewhat crazily.

After some time cuddling and whispering words of love and affection to each other, Lily found it was time to go back and report to Heaven about what she had found. It was enough that she stayed a whole day with him, but still she didn't want to leave him, she wanted to stay beside him. Just the thought of him being away from her made her go crazy.

'It's decided, once I go back I will quit and pack my things and spend my whole life with darling~ Yup, a perfect plan~'

Unbeknownst to the thoughts of his wife quiting the work in Heaven, Daniel just hugged her and gave her kisses that made her giggle cutely.

"Darling, it's time to go back, but don't worry, I will be back soon after, okay? So wait for me."

"Take your time." Daniel said with a smile before he kissed her lips and forehead making Lily smile widen.

She really loved his kisses.

Then she stood up and,

Swooshhh!!

Suddenly, a blinding golden light engulfed Lily before she disappeared going back to Heaven.

She secretly marked this mansion so she could go back anytime. And Daniel knew about it and let it be.

He sighed as he felt like a huge burden was lifted off from his shoulders. He finally found his dear wife, the woman who turned his life upside down and made his heart a mess for someone who didn't believe in love and always thought about it as wasting time.

But then suddenly, he got a notification snapping him out of his thoughts.

There were some people in front of the mansion, two persons to be exact. A woman and a little girl.

Daniel knew who they were as he expected them to come, after all there was a deal between them.

[Lead them in] Daniel commanded.

A shadow soldier appeared from his shadow and knelt before him before disappearing in the shadow again to execute his King's order.

In front of the gate, there were two persons, a woman and a little girl.

The woman was wearing a blue and white French maid outfit with long sleeves and a white maid headband over her head with red lipstick as a cosmetic accessory. She had back-length silver hair that features a long braid on each side with small blue bows at the ends, while the rest is let down which ends in twin braids and her eyes are red making her look more beautiful.

She appear to be in her early twenties with voluptuous body that could make men drool over and arouse their desires.

She was Grayfia Lucifuge, the maid that serves the house of the Gremory and the strongest queen in the underworld.

Beside her a girl who had a beautiful and cute face with striking crimson hair that reached her hips with an ahoge that made her look cuter.

This girl's name was Rias Gremory, the heiress of the Gremory Household.

"Rias-sama, for some time you will be training and living here in this mansion until you get stronger."

"Um." Rias just nodded making Grayfia look at her with a slight surprise because she expected her to protest and refuse to train as she always hated to train.

But looking at the bright side, the girl agreed and was willing to train so she didn't care about the sudden change.

But secretly,

'I must get stronger or else my life will be in danger.' She thought.

The reason for her sudden change in mentality because she was exposed to the truth of the world she was living in. A world where the survival for the fittest, a cruel and cold world. At the time when her father was talking with her mother in the living room about engaging Rias to Riser, the said person was secretly listening to what they were talking and was shocked to know what her father wanted to do with her.

She knew that her father hated her but not to this extent.

Anyway, from that day she locked herself up in her room and began to cry because she realized how cold the world was and how her father that was supposed to love her, treated her like a trash.

But when her mother talked to her about the desire to become stronger, a determination that wasn't there before began to appear igniting her spirit.

And seeing this Venelana proposed the training and she immediately agreed. That was done between the mother and daughter so no one knew about Rias's sudden change.

So with determined expression, Rias clenched her small hands into two fists.

Suddenly, something appeared behind them alerting both of them, making Grayfia take Rias behind her and stand in front of her. She didn't attack immediately because she knew that this thing in front of her belonged to the man living in this mansion.

[My Liege is waiting for you.] The shadow solider said with deep voice making Grayfia sigh and nod at him.

Rias on the other hand had a curious look on her face while looking at the shadow in front of her.

Then he led both of them inside the mansion.
