Chapter 2 Novosibirsk, 55° 3′ 0″ N, 82° 57′ 0″ E Tolmachevo Airport

Andalas was sitting in the waiting room of Tolmachevo Airport for a flight to Paris. The flight would take about 20 hours with 2 transits in Moscow and Chișinău. One more hour before boarding time. He assessed his surrounding thoroughly.

Since leaving the cottage, while driving the car, Andalas noticed that the situation seemed normal. No mass paranoid considering that the whole world was threatened by deadly pandemic.

The airport also looked normal. People moved around casually. There was only one big billboard near the airport gate.

Novosibirsk is MS-free, avoid the slightest wound!

The point was to avoid interacting with an infected person if you have an open wound. Andalas kept that in mind.

As soon as the plane hit the cold Siberian air, Andalas was deep in thought.

First in the list was to free Cecilia and Akiko from the Interpol detention house. Certainly not an easy task. Interpol headquarters in Lyon was well guarded considering all detainees were allegedly major transnational criminals.

Andalas may need help as a distraction. During his transit in Moscow, he would call the Consultant. He only needed two men to carry out all his plans.

At the airport pharmacy, Andalas bought standard medical kit such as masks, gloves, mini oxygen cylinders, disinfectant and alcohol for hygiene purposes. Andalas smiled wryly when he bought these items. Those were also the basic gear of a hitman.

Andalas reached into his pocket. The little key was still there. Doctor Aslan was a planner. But he was confused about what this little key was for. Andalas hastily searched his other pocket. There it is!

He unfolded the neatly folded paper. Andalas used the X-One to take the picture of the contents of the paper. He didn't want to lose the important clues.

Insane! Hundreds of millions of lives had lost in such a short time because of these ancient viruses and bacteria. Andalas's felt disheartened. Could they stop all this mess?

Meanwhile, the Organization and OWC would continue to make sure that they fail. Andalas was imagining the smirk of the Organization's leaders. Their main goal was to make sure that the pandemic happened to create balance of the earth's carrying capacity in the number of populations. But did they realize that if they allowed the pandemic to continue, it could create new imbalances that no one could predict the consequences of?

Obviously, the OWC would gain benefits from the chaos, since its purpose was to establish a new world order. OWC wanted to topple down all governments in the world and replaced them with one government. They might aim for social equality and equity. But did they also understand that if the pandemic was allowed to happen, the possibility of no one survive wasn't impossible; or only a handful of human left at best. Then what was the point of having any kinds of government?

Andalas felt woozy. Those scenarios didn't include the race among the pharmaceutical giants to find a cure for the pandemic for giant profit.

Many conflicts of interest would occur here. Moreover, all governments in the world would certainly not remain silent so that they could quickly mitigate the chaos that was slowly leading to its culmination.

Andalas fell asleep in his daydream. In his short dream before the plane landed in Moscow, he saw cities in blazing fire.

Andalas was awoken by the announcement from the flight attendant saying that all passengers were asked to leave the plane to the waiting area. The next flight would be in three hours.

Once he arrived at the Domodedovo airport, Andalas saw the devastating impact of the pandemic. Everywhere medical officers were on standby and ready to check on passengers who were arriving or departing.

It appeared that the security guard was three times the usual number. There were fully armed soldiers wearing masks at all corners and gates guarding the medical officers.

Andalas didn't go unnoticed. His whole body was scanned using two different tools. Andalas thought this was similar to the pathogen detector, only it wasn't just one tool. The blue scanner was for MS detection, while the red scanner for BA.

WHO should have issued guidelines for one practical tool to detect all pathogens like Cecilia and Akiko's. Andalas didn't know that all the tools and equipment owned by the MS-BA-30 were special equipment made at Pandora. A very advanced research instrument and wasn't made on a large scale so that it was exclusive and very limited.

The airport speakers announced for passengers to start boarding the plane. Andalas interrupted his thoughts and walked to the queue. He sat in economy class in the very back corner for safety and, at the same time, allowing him to observe the situation freely.

Andalas decided not to board early. A woman with red hair and piercings on her lips and nose was queuing not far in front of him.
