Serene and The Six Realms

Synopsis Princess Serene who belonged to Fae Realm had her life taken a 180-degree turn when she decided to join an institute full of vampires, werewolves, and witches. Being of Fae's kind, she attracted love and hatred from these creatures. But, the person who captured her heart was none of these three beings but an entirely different being..... Her world was basically divided into six realms: Fae (where fairies dwelled) Haxum (where witches and warlocks lived) Lycanus ( abode of werewolves) Wampir (where vampires were settled) Folkshel (where common or non-magical people lived) Dark ( where all kinds of mythical creatures and monsters lurked) Centuries ago her forefathers formed an alliance to deal with the threats posed by the Dark Realm. It was a horrid place where all kinds of mythical creatures and monsters lurked. They kept invading other realms so it was barricaded using a powerful boundary spell. But, after about 5 centuries of peace something evil was rising in the dark realm and everything in our world was about to change... .............. Excerpt So, that's what you believe? That your existence pains me? And that you are using me? Tell me, did you ever ask me to do something for you?" His voice seemed to be on the edge of being hurtful. I didn't know what to say to him and seemed tongue-tied. That feeling of hopelessness when you want to do something but you can't creep up on me. "You spoke with each other, determined my fate and decided whom I was supposed to love. At least let me choose the person I want to love. Have I asked you to love me back?" His words hit me like a tornado shattering my heart into millions of pieces. I couldn't understand why he wanted an unrequited love so much, which would only bring him heartbreak, over and over again. "Answer me, please." His tone was playing on the border of hurt and endurance. "No....you didn't." These were the only three words I could say to him, I wanted to say so much more but my whole body was trembling and my heart was racing so fast right now. I knew he could hear it. "Then let me be Serene, please let me be. You don't want me to bother you? I won't. I already keep my distance as you made that abundantly clear the last time. But, please don't take my will. Let me decide whom I want to love. And, one last thing: your existence is not a source of pain for me. Don't ever think like that again and stop letting others put words into your mouth." With these words, his gaze held mine for a brief moment. The agony in his eyes was indescribable, and then he swiftly turned around and left. *********** Take this journey with Fae Princess Serene to find out how she juggles life decisions. Chapter 4

Serene's POV

Zian and Crimzon left while I went to see grandma. Her room was on the ground floor to the left of the dining hall. I knocked on her door. "Come in," she answered sweetly.

I opened the door and went in. Her face lit up as she saw me and I quickly went over to sit beside her on the bed.

"Back so soon, didn't you and Zian go to have a fun day out," she asked me.

"Yes, Grandma we did. But, while we were out in the forest something happened. I need your expertise on that if something like that has ever happened before," her face fell at my serious voice.

"What happened my dear?" She asked me in a concerned voice.

I narrated the whole incident and then waited for her response.

"Are you alright my dear?" She was shocked and hugged me tightly.

"I am alright grandma but I can't wrap my head around it."

"Well, in the entirety of my life I have never heard of any such incident. Some people have died trying to enter the Dark Realm but they went of their own free will as much as we know. People like thieves and bandits try to get in. Maybe to get hold of some creatures which they can control or sell. But never heard of someone being controlled to enter it." She told me while I was her mind was engrossed in making head and tail of what has happened.

She continued: "But, the Fae who prepared the spell along with the witch was from our bloodline. She was our ancestor and was the most powerful Fae of her time and even today her name is written in golden words. It might have to do something with our blood because it was used in the spell and the same blood runs through your veins. That's the only thing which comes to my mind."

"Hmm, I see grandma. I will try to find the answer and soon I will be leaving here, so I needed to know what exactly has happened to me. I have heard that my new institute has one of the biggest libraries in our world, therefore, I will have more chances of finding an answer there. "

"Be careful, my child of whomever you trust and entrust your secrets. You will meet all kinds of people there with their own agendas. So, take heed and trust your gut. I believe in you. Meanwhile, try to stay away from the Dark Realm and never go there alone, " she cautioned me.

"I will grandma, I absolutely will," I assured her.

" Can you tell me more about this ancestor of ours who came up with the spell to seal off the dark realm? I have read a bit about her in our history books but I don't know all the details. And, how all this could be connected to me." I asked her curiously.

"Her name was Sahala and she manifested a great power, some kind of shield, like you but different in some aspects. She also wielded a crossbow just like you. From what I have read about her in a lot of aspects you two are quite similar. But, she had a tragic life and the loss of her husband pushed her to take some drastic measures and it's believed to be the turning point in her life which lead to the sealing away of the Dark Realm. It manifested a special power in her which was unfathomable and was used in that binding spell which held on even after her death." Grandma explained it to me in detail.

" I see. Is it possible that I inherited her powers but can bring about the opposite effect?" I asked curiously.

"Anything is possible my dear. But, your heart is pure and it can't be corrupted. I highly doubt that you are some harbinger of bad news if that's what you are thinking about. " She reassured me.

"Don't think too deeply into this. Try to relax and enjoy the time you have here. Soon, you won't be able to with your new institute and overload of studies." She patted me on my shoulder and I smiled.
