Chapter 31 – Sparring for fun

 Then, Mikaela came to Atsushi and asked him for a sparring session. "Woah, really?" Atsushi was surprised to hear that. Mikaela then seriously nodded. This causes Atsushi to be excited.

Saya is, as always, ready for her vessel.

 And so, Atsushi and Mikaela had a sparring session. Mikaela goes first by lunging at him. Saya then immediately gave Atsushi strength and power to activate his Aura ability, shrouding him in a blue aura. With that, Atsushi unsheathes his halberd and clashed with Mikaela.

 "Wow, you're pretty strong with that sword, Mika-kun," Atsushi said to him as he enjoys the sparring session.

Yeager, Krul Tepes, and the other vampires watch it with amusement.

 "You can do it, Atsushi-kun!"

 "Beat him up, Mikaela."

Mikaela said nothing and tries to push forward.

But Atsushi dodged that in time and swung his halberd, firing a wave of blue aura towards Mikaela.

Mikaela then dodged that, too, and responded with a counterattack.

The sparring session lasted for a few minutes.

At the end of it, both sides are exhausted. Mikaela was a bit thirsty for blood, so he gets a vial of it from his pocket. He then uncapped it and drank it, before tossing the empty vial aside. This regains some of his strength, but he doesn't want to continue to fight. Atsushi, meanwhile, was exhausted.

 "That was…" he commented as he pants heavily, "…intense…"

 "Wow, you did great," Saya said to him with enthusiasm.

Atsushi then sighed. "Yup, thanks…"

"Good game." Mikaela let out a slight at him, before he puts his sword in its scabbard. "I'll win next time."

Atsushi then positively nodded and sheathed his halberd. "Yes, good game as well."

It was a tie, and neither side had won.

Yeager and Krul Tepes were impressed that they became that strong.

The other vampires liked it, too, and admired Atsushi a lot for his strength and character.

The sparring session of Atsushi and Mikaela was over, but both of them enjoyed it.

After that, Krul Tepes and Yeager are now discussing about matters that are private while Atsushi, Saya, and Mikaela are spending some time together. The other vampires are with them. At this point, Atsushi is friends with them, and when being in the outside world, he pretends to be against them. But the ones that doted on him are Mikaela and Crowley. It seems that the Imperial Demon Army didn't know that side of Atsushi and Yeager at all; not even Yuichiro or Guren knows that, too.
