Chapter 19 – Attack of the Vampires

When they arrived at the western walls of Shinjuku, they saw the attack by the vampires. Atsushi won't believe that the vampires would utilize the use of helicopters and modern weapons. "What in the…?" He pretended to be shocked since he knows that plot in his previous life. When the helicopter fires at them, the Shinoa squad luckily dodged its attacks by hiding.

"Man, this is crazy!" Atsushi commented.

 "Yeah, it was," Kimizuki responded.

Then, when the vampires descended down, the Shinoa squad starts to fight back, with Atsushi's mountain spirit giving him some strength to activate his Aura ability.

When the soldiers of the Imperial Demon Army see Atsushi's ability, they were stunned for they never seen it before.

 "What is that?"

 "I had no idea."

Yuichiro and the others noticed that as well, but didn't question it all.

Later, when the first wave of raids is over, while the soldiers are recovering, Atsushi was at an empty room with a mirror in need of some alone time. He was talking to his mountain spirit, who appears in the mirror. The reason why is that he wants to know more about his mountain spirit. He asked the mountain spirit about her history of being with him.

"I had been protecting you and being within you even before the downfall of humanity had happened," answered the mountain spirit back.

 "Oh, okay," Atsushi replied.

He then tilted his head slightly downward. "I remembered that time I got almost killed by a beastman when I was young, but a building fell on him, and I managed to escape."

 "Oh, that would me."

Atsushi was stunned to hear that. "Wait, it was you?"

His mountain spirit then giggled. "Yes, remember?"

 "Oh, right, right."

After that, Atsushi said to her, "Hey, uh, do you have a name?"

To that the spirit thinks for a while, before she replied, "No, most of us spirits don't have one."

 "Is that so?"

 "Yes."

"Okay, would you mind if I give you a name?"

 "Really?"

Atsushi then smiled. "Yes, sure."

"Okay then. What name to be exact?"

Atsushi then contemplates for a while as the busyness outside of the room keep on being hectic.

 "Oh! Saya."

 "Saya?" his spirit responded back.

"In Tagalog, that means joy. Is that good?"

Eventually, his spirit accepted that name with happy and accepting gratitude. "Yay! I'm now known as Saya!"

Atsushi was happy to hear that.

Meanwhile, Yeager reported all of Atsushi's happenings to Krul Tepes, his stepsister.

"Oh, that ability?" Krul replied back.

"Yes, it's called Aura ability," said Yeager. "Can you not hurt him? Because he has so much to live for."

In response to that, Krul Tepes granted his request out of concern for her stepbrother and promises to inform her vampires about it.

With that, Yeager turned around and left the place, being optimistic that she will do that.
