Chapter 33

(Smiling) "Mom, I am okay, I am already at my apartment"

(Heave a sigh of relief) " I thought as much, I have been calling you and you weren't picking my calls. I Know you haven't had dinner, I am already in my way, you shouldn't be so careless with yourself now, you're already pregnant" Teresa said seriously, she didn't understand why her husband and daughter were so alike. They were both workaholics, when they were busy food wasn't an option to them at all. They would always make her worry over nothing.

"Pregnant?" Selom said, touching her belly. Oh Now she remembers, woah, she was pregnant and forgot all about it. Looking at her bed she frowned, just now she was sleeping soundly with her stomach facing the bed. This was really very bad. She has heard such sleeping posture wasn't good for pregnant women, why didn't she feel any discomfort sleeping in such a position? She had sponsored a Woman empowerment program and awareness, where a doctor spoke about all these things and changes, she still recalled the doctor's words.

"Hello, Hello Darling are you still there" Teresa said sounding very worried, she could hear the silence at the other end. She had been talking to herself and she didn't get a response from Selom

"Yes mom, I am here"

"Don't hang up on the call, till I get to your apartment. Stay in touch. Are you sure you are okay?"

" I am mom, Really" she said assuring her mother

"Darling, I have been talking to you for over 5 minutes but you weren't responding at all. You got me so worried, what happened?" She asked

"Mom, I just drafted into my thoughts. (Laughing) Funny enough I forgot I was pregnant." She said, sounding so sarcastic. She found it funny, things were happening to her and she either became the last person to find out about it or forgets about the whole stuff.

Teresa hearing this felt sad, Initially she had thought her little girl adapted to the news and accepted it. But it seems she was still trying to get used to the fact that she was already a mother now. She remembered the words Clara had told her "What Selom needs from you is your full support and encouragement. Don't keep such a face that would drive her into depression, this is the time she needs you the most" Those were her words. 

Thinking about it she didn't want Selom to feel depressed "Darling, it's a normal thing dear, I also made a lot of mistakes when I had your brother. I only adjusted when he got bigger around 6 months. That way, it was evident that I was pregnant and I had to act like those who were pregnant" Teresa said laughing. 

Those memories were very funny, when she found out that she was pregnant, Her Son Aaron, Selom's Elder brother was just 8 weeks old then. She had the habit of sleeping on her stomach, she also liked running then.
