Chapter 270

"Now you know how to be sincere" He said glaring at her. He wasn't going to buy this at all.

"You know I am the most sincere one amongst all of them" she said proudly

Suzan and Stephanie were speechless but Roselle and Selom weren't, this was because she said nothing but the truth. Lylic was actually the kindest among them.

She was always very sincere that no one could deny the fact. Steve had no choice than to accept her hug, she made him helpless but he wasn't going to stand up, his butt hurts from all the dragging even though the floor was smooth, it still made contact with his ass. The fiction was undeniably strong that his ass felt very hot. Looking at how busy Suzan and Stephanie were he already had a rough idea of why he was dragged here. Using the word 'brought here ' makes the whole ruthless act seem nicer. So 'dragged' was the best word to use.

"Big brother, you can stand up now," Lylic, who was still giving him a hug in a squatting position, said. She was already so tired and her knees were beginning to hurt.

"Oh really? Should I?" He asked

"Yes you should,'' she replied back with a smile. Seeing him about to get up, she stood up immediately as well and walked to the bed to sit beside Selom.

"Ma'am " Steve said looking at her, it wasn't actually his fault he was closer to Roselle and Lylic than Selom. He knew she was a star, a role model but he had no idea that she was his cousin until Dr. Teresa identified Selom as her daughter.

"Dr. Steve " Selom replied with a smile

"How are we doing today? Your belly has grown so big. You're already Seven months gone, you just have two months to go and that child would be born into the world." He said walking up to her with a warm smile. If he had a relationship to fix, it was his and Selom's. It was his responsibility to fix their relationship, he wanted her to feel free around him and call him 'Big Brother ' just like Roselle and Lylic.

"Thanks for the compliment, I have to apologize for our first meeting, it wasn't nice" she apologized, this was actually the right opportunity. Ever since she left the hospital after the news of her pregnancy she had no reason to go back, so she missed the opportunity to apologize. She remembered blaming him for what happened.

"There's no need to apologize, I hold nothing against you. Anyone in your shoes would have done worse and I also felt very sorry that such a thing happened. The hospital is working endlessly to find out what happened. And you don't have to worry, I can assure you that the culprit would be dealt with if he or she is caught "

"Steph, take Suzan to the room beside yours " Roselle Instructed. It was now time for real business. Stephanie and Suzan immediately left the room, they understood the siblings needed their private time together. "Dr. Steve a good massage won't kill" Selom said smiling at him, understanding her point he sat beside her and continued the massage from where they had stopped. He placed both her legs on his thigh and began the massage.

"So tell me, I know you have something to say. You just sent the girls out" Steve said

(Clears her throat) "About the pregnancy, Roselle is responsible"

"What!? What do you mean?" He asked again.

"I meant exactly what I said, Roselle got Selom pregnant "

"How?"

(Chuckling) "You are a doctor so that shouldn't be the question you should be asking me" Lylic replied.

"Roselle….." Steve said, looking at her. Seeing her silence, he already knew the answer, she was indeed very responsible. "This means you were actually the one, what are you to gain out of this?" He asked

"A lot, I could ruin her career and I would get a child" Roselle replied proudly, she sounded so good and confident in herself. It was as if the act was something to be proud it, it was like she just saved the life of the president of the country from getting shot, so it is something to be proud of.

"Speechless", "You really are something, Why would you result to such a means?"

"What should I have done? Kill her"

"Ouch, Careful with my legs, I said you should help massage not to dislocate my bones" Selom said with a slight frown, it was painful. 

"Sorry" Steve apologized

"Why are you so surprised with her words? It shouldn't affect you at all, if you really know Roselle you would know she has a problem with words. She doesn't always mean what she says" Selom said. She hasn't gotten used to calling him Big Brother, like she used to when she was still a kid.

 According to the human world, she was about 7 years old and that's about a hundred years old on earth. This is how the things work, immortals barely age, it could take a hundred years in the human world, and it would feel like just a year in the Heavenly realm. When it's a year there, it's already a century on earth. So over a century, even Immortals living on earth would still Maintain the same stage with just a tiny difference.

It wasn't as if she lost contact with her family, she didn't but Selom chose to learn things on her own and travelled round the world to gain experience and when she got back to her hometown in the human realm, she was too busy to go around mending her relationship with her family. And a lot contributed to this as well. Then they could vividly remember a scene which almost got them in trouble, there was a human child who was born around the time Selom, Lylic and Roselle were according to the records in the human realm 5 years of age but after 10 good years, the human child became 10 years Old but Selom, Roselle and Lylic didn't seem to age even in the slightest. 

They never knew the boy had a memory of them when he was just a toddler. Another 10 years later, the human child became a teenager and was surprised to see the three girls still looking so little. He was more mature and looked older than them while they looked the same. This got him so curious that he started digging too deep 

Unknowingly to them he began snooping around and it almost got them into trouble , he was a Science student and wanted to use them for experiments. He told other humans about it but they didn't believe him, they had no choice than to have his memories wiped off. But since the girls were not pleased with this idea, they decided to relocate to avoid attraction. 

It wasn't their fault that they could live longer, it was how the supreme planned it. They believed that they were the only Immortals living on earth but later as they moved and travelled round the world they found out they were more but rarely from the heavenly realm. What this meant was that, other Immortals they found were not from the heavenly realm, some were slaves who escaped from other unknown realms and others were from different clans of the demon realm. So growing up all she had was her family and her sisters, Roselle and Lylic. But when she noticed the relationship between them was breaking up, she decided to sacrifice herself and the only way of doing that was to move far away from them.

Her relationship with Steve wasn't cold,it was freezing to her; he was more like a stranger and she wanted to work on it for the better. But it would sound weird calling him Big brother. "You don't have to think so much about it, I was the one at fault. When you moved away I would have kept in touch just like Roselle and Lylic did but I was thinking you did that because I was different from you girls" Steve said sadly

"Can you read my thoughts too?" Selom said surprisingly

(Smiles) "Of course I can, I may be half human half immortal but I get skills too"

"Can you read mine as well?" Lylic asked

(Scoffs) "What sort of question is that? You all know he has been reading our thoughts since we were kids" Roselle replied

"He did? How come I don't have such memories?" 

(Smirks) "You're too stupid to remember " Roselle said looking at Lylic

"Woa woah, all's good. Roselle, why on earth would you think of such a thing?"

"Has she ever thought of anything good in all her years of living?" Lylic was the one to respond. And such an answer rendered them speechless.

"She has never thought of anything good indeed" Steve said with a smile, all Roselle thought about was evil and you could easily mistake her for an offspring from the Demon realms.

"Whatever, all the evil I think is meant for my enemies, and when some evil is directed to people like you, it's all for your own good" Roselle said looking at Selom

"Speechless "

"Speechless "

"Speechless ", "I am very surprised, this is actually the first time you've said something nice, I love the new you " Lylic couldn't help but comment.

"Now let's talk about Eva" Roselle said coldly

(Sigh) "You all don't like her? " He asked and to his surprise they gave an affirmative nod.

"Did you in any way read her thoughts?"

"No, I don't need too, she's really very nice"

"That's because you are blindly by love, and when this happens you Begin to see things which are not there and things which are present you don't see them" Roselle responded

"It's weird hearing this from you, I don't see you as someone who has tye experience "

(Laughing) She sure does, how did you think the relationship between Roselle and Selom become so sore? It was because she fell in love with a boy doing college his name is Phil, she was heads over hills for him and that was indeed surprising and guess what?" Lylic said looking at Steve with a funny smile on her face. She loves keeping someone in suspense as always

"What happened next?" Steve said sounding very interested in whatever she was about to say

"The guy in question fell in love with Selom and he didn't pronounce his love secretly. He did it in public In Front of the whole school and starting from that day Roselle made Selom her enemy. So she's well experience and you can see the result of such enmity " she said pointing at Selom's belly

"She was indeed blindly by love, I think hers is worst, she lost her senses in the process " 

"Speechless "

Selom and Lylic immediately burst into laughter. This was indeed the case.

"Why haven't you tried reading her thoughts?" Now it was Lylic's turn to ask questions.

"Because I don't have the ability to" Steve said with a long sigh 

"What!?" They all shouted in shock

"Yes, and I think it's a good thing"

"She's special?" Selom asked, there were cases written in the historical books where there were some special human beings who had their thoughts to themselves, it was said that only the supreme and the Ancient Immortals could read their thoughts. It could be that Eva's case was similar to the stories in the historical books. But if that was the case then….

"It can't be possible, if it was based on that, I won't be able to read her thoughts too"

"This made sense, could it be that you were the only one who had access to her thoughts, because I did not bother myself" Selom said looking at Lylic

(Scoffs) "I read her thoughts as well, so Big brother is there something you are not telling us?"Roselle said looking strangely at Steve

(Sigh) "I can read human's thoughts"

(Laughing)" You are joking now right?"

"I am not"

"How could that be possible? You could read all our thoughts but can't read the thoughts of Mortals? I have never heard of such a thing" 

"We read almost all the books having almost everything about being a mortal and also an Immortal, could it be that you haven't gotten to that level yet" Selom couldn't help but make such suggestions.

Roselle was quiet, she could be called the deepest thinker amongst them. But how was it possible that he could read their own thoughts but not the humans? "Big brother, could it be that it's limited because you've fallen in love with her? There were myth also in the heavenly realm where you wouldn't be able to read the thoughts of someone you've fallen in love with" 

Hearing this Lylic and Selom gave a positive nod, this is because they were aware of such a thing too. They've also read it in book and it was a practical thing too with their parents.

"That's not the case, I haven't bothered reading anyone's thoughts until I meant Eva, at first I thought all it needs is trust, I needed to trust her and later I gave her my full trust. There was a point I wanted reading her thoughts but I felt I would be betraying her in the process and I would invade her privacy. It got to a point I just have to do so, I had no other option but I found out that I couldn't. The only ability I had then when I tried was feeling her heartbeat, I could hear her heart beat but I couldn't read her thoughts, I tried getting into her head but I couldn't " He said with a long sigh

"What happened then?" They all asked

"I tried several times but I still couldn't so I thought she was special so I forgot all about it. But something changed, I had a patient about the Age of 8, she had leukaemia. I suddenly got attached to her during the whole treatment process, I asked her what she really wanted, the little girl gave me this reply 'Uncle Steve I don't really have anything I want, I already have everything ' But how could a little girl with such an ailment say those words. Nobody has everything and some things are just not enough, so I tried reading her thoughts but I couldn't. So I felt it wasn't just Eva, to confirm this I tried reading every human's thoughts but couldn't. But I could read your mom's thoughts and even mine" He said looking at Selom.

"Woah, that's Strange. The best option is to ask the old man. He has answers to everything, he could tell us what it is. It actually strange that you could read our thoughts but not theirs " Lylic suggested

"But did you in any way relate this to Aunt?"Selom asked

"No I didn't, I didn't see any need to" he said sadly, he didn't feel the need to at all.

"You're just afraid because you know she would take the whole stuff into something very different " Lylic said, she could see through his worries.

"Yes that's why I didn't tell her, she would be too worried over nothing " he said sadly 

"Aunt wouldn't think much about it these things happen and if you have told her she would have given you a logical explanation for it "
