Chapter 227

After they were done, Jackson's wound was already treated. Now there was no turning back, he introduced all his hostages under his care to her. Looking closely, She couldn't find any girl who was around the age of 16-17 years old based on Phil's description, his younger sister would be around that age, that's in the human world.

"Jackson, are these all the hostages you have under your care?" She asked

"Yes they are" he replied

"I guess not, it seems you want to die at my mercy, some people ain't present here and this wasn't our argument"

Jackson was shocked to hear this, how did she know this? Just reading his thoughts, Selom couldn't help but frown "I had given you the antidote to your daughter's poison. She isn't supposed to be alive, I had every right to kill her during the war she had brought to my own doorstep. You came here suggesting something else about a fight and it is evident to everyone that I won. And here you're being a cheat" she said, nodding her head in disappointment.

Jackson knew of the fact that Selom couldn't know much about his hostages. It was his hostages, " I don't know what you mean by some hostages not being present" he said looking as confused as ever. His looks were so convincing that Selom almost fell for it.

"Dad, it's bad enough we've gotten ourselves in so much mess, just let everything go. Give her what she wants" Cecilia said with a slight frown. She didn't have to be told about anything, she just witnessed the whole scene which had happened earlier, and knew better. Selom sounded more like someone who knew what she was talking about and it would be better to comply easily if not they could get themselves in more trouble than expected.

Jackson, listening to his daughter's words, felt a little bit ashamed of himself. They lost so much already and he didn't want them to lose more. The only hostages which were left were Phil's family, he didn't take them out because if he gave them to the pregnant woman he would lose his grip on Phil. He wouldn't be able to control him again. To him that would be another great loss he wasn't willing to give. But losing Phil was far better than losing his daughter, she had stooped so low to ask for his life to be saved. This was because he was all she had, he didn't want to disappoint her " I still have some hostages under my care" he finally admitted after so much reasoning. He had weighed all the pros and cons properly and lucky enough he made the right decision. And handed over the last hostages in his care to Selom.

After all this has been sorted out, Selom picked the properties she was interested in, to his surprise she wasn't as greedy as he expected. After all she was wealthy herself, so this was understandable. After selecting what she wanted she also sent a man which she wanted under her charge and that man was none other than Phil himself. Selom knew he was afraid of facing his family now, so she tried sorting that out using Lylic's help, her friend was the best when it comes to such matters. Everything was going well as she planned and she was happy about it.

Jackson felt all this was Strange but since he couldn't explain things further he forgot about it, there was no evidence and it was difficult for him to have a soy amongst his men. He just assumed Selom was more powerful, so she was well informed. But he was indeed in deep regret, if he hadn't gotten into this fight in the first place, he wouldn't have lost so much like he did now. Now he was indirectly, Selom's slave and there was nothing he could do about it. Jackson later left with the Old man and all the other men he brought with him. But two things stayed behind, Cecilia and also Phil. He had lost his own daughter and would find it difficult to explain things to his wife. What would he tell her?

Later that day, Selom retired to her bed to get some rest. Lylic handed Phil's family over to him, his mother and younger sister immediately hugged him the moment they saw him and they couldn't control their tears. Lylic had to give them so space so she immediately left. This was a reconciliation between a family, she couldn't interfere. She hadn't lost contact with anyone of her family members before but she kind of understood the pain. She had helped Phil overcome his fears and had also help his mother too. She also felt very guilty and blamed herself for everything her son went through, this was because she had held him back. To her she thought that was the only way to protect him but she didn't know it was killing him and wearing him out. All this experiences brought both parties into a realistic realization and made them understood things better.  Lylic's Job was to help them out of the world of sekf blame and she didn't that perfectly well.

But she couldn't just leave, she needed to spoil someone's day and the only person who came to her mind was Cecilia. She was always good at spicying things up, she just wanted to give the girl a little trouble. She didn't have to look anywhere to find her, just as usual, someone who was a stranger in a big mansion would stay at a corner all alone waiting to be called.

"Follow me immediately to my room" She ordered looking at her with disdain.

Cecilia had no choice than to follow her to her room. Getting there she was dumbstruck, it seems ever where in the whole mansion was exquisitely designed. She was impressed with the interior design, it seems there was more to see.
