The black shadow flashed continuously and then slowly settled in place.
"Oh, what is this? It feels so strange."
"Why does it feel like a ghost?"
Blinking her eyes, Kurenai looked at Fuji and asked.
Fuji also saw the Pokémon on the Pokédex and raised his eyebrows.
"Kurenai, your luck is really good. This is Gastly."
Fuji glanced at her, a bit surprised.
Goodness, she actually drew Gastly.
That's right, what was shown on the Pokédex was Gastly.
Gastly is a gaseous life form with a black spherical core. It has large white eyes, small black pupils, and a mouth with fangs. Despite its name, Gastly's appearance isn't terrifying. In fact, like Hoopa, it exudes a mischievous vibe rather than anything frightening.
"Gastly? Can you tell me more about it?"
Kurenai was clearly interested in Gastly and asked curiously.
"Gastly is a Gas Pokémon and a very unique one at that," Fuji said, recalling what he knew.
Indeed, Gastly is quite special. It's a Ghost/Poison-type Pokémon, and since it's made of gas, Gastly weighs only 0.1 kilograms—lighter than a pound!
"Gas Pokémon? How can gas be a Pokémon?" Kurenai asked, surprised.
"Really, Fuji, you're not joking, right?" Anko chimed in.
"I'm not joking. Gastly is said to have originated from the gas emitted by cemeteries, eventually becoming a Pokémon. It was born from poisonous gas. Ninety-five percent of its body is made up of poisonous gas, and the remaining five percent is said to be the soul of a person who died from the poison. It's a gaseous life form, almost invisible and intangible. It can sneak into any place thanks to its thin, gaseous body, but it's also easily blown away by the wind."
Fuji spoke from memory.
"Is that true, Fuji? You're saying souls and such things actually exist?" Naruto was shocked, unable to believe what he had just heard.
"Come on, Fuji, just because we're close doesn't mean you can trick Kurenai like this!"
"If you bully Kurenai, watch out. I'll beat you up," Anko said, raising her small fist in a mock threatening manner, though it seemed more playful than serious to Fuji.
"I'm not lying. Why don't I bring Gastly out, and you'll see for yourselves?"
"Our store prides itself on honesty. We don't do deceptive business," Fuji responded calmly, though not without a little humor.
Of course, Fuji wasn't irritated.
After all, Gastly is indeed a special Pokémon, especially since it's a Ghost-type. Such a creature has never been seen in the ninja world.
It was natural for them to be skeptical. Anko's doubt was more playful than anything, meant to ensure Kurenai didn't think Fuji was the type of person to exaggerate things for a sale.
That said, Kurenai trusted Fuji, and she didn't need Anko to come to her defense.
After all, facts are facts. Gastly is real, and once it appeared, they would all understand.
"In that case, let's bring Gastly out and take a look," Kurenai said, her interest piqued.
Just from what she had seen on the Pokédex, Kurenai was already fond of Gastly, despite its mischievous look. It reminded her a little of Hoopa, another mischievous Pokémon she liked.
And, in a way, it reminded her of Fuji himself.
Kurenai gave Fuji a second glance.
Fuji was very handsome, and when he smiled, there was a hint of mischief in his expression.
"Alright, give me a moment. Hoopa, keep them entertained," Fuji smiled before heading into the back room.
As Fuji disappeared into the other room, Anko couldn't help but ask Kurenai, "Do you think Gastly is really a gas Pokémon, like Fuji said? And that part about it being born from someone's soul sounds ridiculous."
Naruto nodded, "Yeah, it does sound pretty unbelievable."
"Well, I remember the Pokédex said that Hoopa has Ghost and Psychic attributes," Kurenai said, looking at Hoopa with a soft smile.
"That's right! Hoopa is a Pokémon with both Psychic and Ghost attributes," Hoopa said happily, flying around Kurenai in excitement.
Hoopa was pleased that Kurenai had remembered its information so clearly.
"Psychic and Ghost?" Anko frowned.
In the ninja world, there was no concept of "psychic" powers. From her perspective, "psychic" probably referred to some sort of ninjutsu or secret technique.
As for "ghost," Anko wasn't entirely convinced.
"So, Hoopa, are you a ghost with psychic powers?" Naruto asked curiously.
"Hoopa isn't exactly a ghost, but it does have Psychic and Ghost-type moves," Hoopa replied mischievously. "Hoopa's very strong, hee-hee!"
"Yeah, Hoopa is definitely powerful," Kurenai agreed with a smile.
Not long after, Fuji emerged from the back room, and following behind him was a floating, gaseous figure.
