"*Di~* Snivy, Grass-type, Grass Snake Pokémon.

Ability: Contrary (Reverses stat changes. Stats that would normally decrease increase, and stats that would normally increase decrease.)

Moves: Tackle, Glare, Vine Whip, Twister.

Snivy, the Grass Snake Pokémon. Always calm and collected, it doesn't get shaken easily. It photosynthesizes using the leaves on its tail to generate energy."

A mechanical voice sounded from the Pokédex.

"Huh."

Anko and Fuji both made a surprised sound at the same time.

"This is the basic information about Snivy? Ability? Moves? What do those mean?" Anko blinked, her eyes full of interest.

Fuji was quite intrigued. Snivy actually came with the move *Twister*.

The move *Twister* is considered an "egg move," which means Snivy must have inherited it from its parents. It's the only Dragon-type move Snivy can learn, making it quite rare.

Even more interesting, this Snivy had the hidden ability *Contrary*.

With *Contrary*, Snivy becomes more powerful the more it uses moves like *Leaf Storm*, which would normally decrease its special attack. Instead, the stat decreases are reversed, making Snivy's special attack skyrocket after using *Leaf Storm*. This could make it absurdly strong in battle.

In his previous life, Fuji had seen many people in novels describe their Snivy learning *Draco Meteor*, another powerful Dragon-type move. However, this was inaccurate—Snivy could only learn *Twister*, not *Draco Meteor*.

"Abilities are like passive powers, special traits that every Pokémon has."

"Snivy has two possible abilities: *Overgrow*, which is common, and *Contrary*, which is a hidden ability. Your Snivy has *Contrary*, the hidden ability."

"As for moves, these are the techniques Snivy currently knows, which are listed here."

"Most of Snivy's information is recorded in the Pokédex. If there's anything you don't understand, you can look it up in more detail there."

"Do you need one?" Fuji smiled and asked.

The Pokédex that Fuji sold didn't come pre-loaded with Pokémon data. Users had to unlock the information for each Pokémon they encountered, just like in Fuji's previous life.

Once the data was unlocked, though, it provided very detailed information about that Pokémon.

"Alright, bring me one of those. And those grass-type energy cubes—I'll take ten boxes."

Even though Anko still didn't understand everything, she waved her hand to signal her decision.

"Snivy, Snivy!"

Hearing that Anko had bought so many energy cubes, Snivy danced happily, its eyes full of excitement.

"Stick with me, and you'll eat the best of the best!" Anko rubbed Snivy's little head and grinned widely.

"The Pokédex is 10,000 yen, and the high-quality energy cubes are 5000 yen each, so that's a total of 60,000 yen," Fuji said, pulling ten boxes of the grass-type energy cubes from the counter and handing them to Anko.

"Alright, fine. But as an old friend, can't you give me a better discount?" Anko teased as she handed over the money.

Anko didn't usually spend much money—most of her earnings from missions went toward buying dango and red bean soup. This was one of the first times she'd spent so much money on something other than ninja tools.

"I already gave you a discount. What do you want, free delivery?" Fuji replied with a chuckle.

Snivy was one of the three starters from Unova, with great potential. Not to mention this Snivy in particular, which was incredibly talented. Its final evolution, Serperior, wasn't just strong but also looked elegant. It might even surpass Anko in strength one day.

After all… Anko was currently only a Special Jonin.

The potential of Pokémon was something Anko couldn't even begin to fathom at this point.

"Free delivery? Sure!" Anko said playfully.

"Yeah, maybe if you become the shop's manager one day," Fuji shot back with a grin.

"Dream on! Who would want to manage your shop?" Anko pretended to look disgusted, but her cheeks flushed slightly.

"I'm just in a good mood because I got Snivy today. If I weren't, you'd be in trouble!" Anko waved her fist at Fuji in mock threat.

"Yeah, yeah. So, you still have three more chances to draw Pokémon today. Do you want to try again?" Fuji asked.

"There are plenty of Pokémon that are just as strong as Snivy," he added, not taking Anko's teasing seriously. Conversations like this had happened plenty of times in the past—only back then, Fuji had been running a ninja tool shop. Now, it was all about Pokémon.
