Maya

"it's you"They said at the same time as Bethany covered her mouth as looked at her best friend Maya.She never thought she would see her this soon and most especially this place.

"Maya it's you... Oh my goodness it's you Maya!"She said and Maya nodded while her eyes swelled up, Bethany stood up as they embraced themselves in a long time hug with tears falling from their eyes.

Maya cried as she hugged her tighter while Bethany words were choked.Its was as if they were parted for eternity and finally found each other.

Words couldn't be expressed as the girls hugged for only God knew.Maya still found it hard to believe that she was Bethany right now not after everything that happened this past few months.

She never thought she would be able to see Bethany again not after what happened.The both of them had different questions and thoughts but they kept that aside as they focused on their reunion.

At long last they disengaged from the hug as Maya looked at her best friend which she thought she would never see again."It really is you Bethany, oh my I.. I never thought..."

Bethany took her hand and held it before she confronted her to calm her nerves."It's me Maya I never went anywhere."

Maya shook her head as she did not believe her words."But we were told you were died which I didn't believe at first but seeing you here it's a little shocking."

She voiced out her thoughts she did lie about how she didn't believe that night when Natasha told her she was gone.

"It's a long story Maya I would tell you but not now,"Bethany looked at her friend once again before a genuine smile found its way to her lips."Ah, I missed you so much."

"I missed you too,"Maya never felt this happy for a very long time she thank the Lord for bringing Bethany back and been able to see her.

Maya cursed as she couldn't find a taxi in the cool evening, she had to run some delivery's before she had to go home since her boss did it to punish her for talking to a customer too long whom happened to be her' bestfriend' 

She felt reluctant to leave Bethany but they promised to met each other to talk more and for the times they missed.

Since there were no signs of a taxi coming she clutch her bag tighter as she walked down the lonely and quiet street.There was only a few street lights that were on, the night suddenly felt eerie to her.

Nevertheless she continued walking only to be startled by a shriek sound she looked back but saw nothing.Then she saw a shadow behind her but as she turned she saw nothing.

Was she now seeing things? Or had sge drank too much alcohol lately? She rubbed her eyes as she shrugged maybe she had been thinking too much.

But the feeling of being followed never left her body suddenly she was yanked away harshly as she feel down she winced.

Then she saw the stranger bringing out a pocket knife and her adrenaline boosted up she quickly stood up and began to run.

'Who was that person? What did he want from her? What had sge done wrong? Why was she been chased?'

She continued to run for her dear life as she knew the stranger was almost close to catching her.She ran with all her might and strength but she suddenly stumbled and feel to a slippery ground.

"AHH!!!"Her scream was heard as she the person coming closer to her.She held onto a stone for support as it was a dead end.

She didn't know where she had ran to while been chased but one thing was for sure this was the end of the road.She was shaken in fear as she prayed for a saviour to come.

The stranger with the knife squatted down as he didn't care whether she fell or not but he suddenly frowned as if something was wrong.

Has he caught the wrong person, why was her different then abd why did her voice nor sound like her."Your not her."That was all it was needed for the stranger to run away as he failed his mission ignoring Maya pleas and cries.

Leaving Maya all alone in the windy night.
