Storage Room

Raze walked through the settlement, doing his best to avoid attracting attention, not that it mattered after all the goblins had much bigger problems on their hands at the moment.

A large chunk of the whole settlement was mostly in ruins.

Goblins were still running away and dying hopelessly as the ant monsters ravaged everything in sight, trying to find their kids.

And as the perpetrator of all this, Raze casually strolled through, trying to find the son of the chief.

But on his way, his attention was caught by something quite curious.

It was a mud statue at least 12 metres in size, depicting some sort of ferocious woman.

Her face was obsessed with a skull atop her head, but still, from what little was exposed, it was easy to tell she was supposed to be pretty.

She was covered in blood, and her clothes had tears here and there as she stood atop the corpse of some sort of giant wolf with her spear impaling its heart.

"Wow, that's one detailed and well-made statue." Raze couldn't help but admire the craftsmanship of the statue.

It felt really odd and stood out in a place where only goblins were supposed to live, as the figure on the statue resembled a human.

'This was most likely built by humans'

But why?

And who is the woman it depicts—some sort of hero or goddess?

Raze was left quite shocked by the sight of the statue, as it only raised his curiosity about this floor.

But he didn't have time to stand around and just daze at some statues just because he was a little curious.

He had to keep moving, which is exactly what he did.

After a few minutes of walking and searching, he came across one of the two things he had been searching for.

It was a seemingly empty warehouse with no door.

But Raze wasn't tricked; after all, he already knew what was contained inside this floor.

As he entered the room, he had trouble seeing anything due to there not being any source of light inside.

Maybe this was because goblins had no problem seeing in the dark, which made them not need light sources in their house.

But it was fine; the little light entering from outside revealed the location of a staircase leading down and the complete emptiness of the room.

Going down the stairs, the light from outside eventually got dimmer and dimmer until he was in complete darkness.

Once it got completely dark, Raze activated his inventory and took out something he had prepared over the last few days specifically for this moment.

It was a wooden stick with his old hoodie wrapped on top, and strangely enough, a light fire was burning on it.

Thats right, Raze had just taken a burning stick out of his inventory.

Over the past few days, he has been doing all sorts of experiments with the applications of his innate rune; one of them involved trying to store live fire.

While that experiment failed, he managed to learn something else from it.

It was that the state of any item put in his inventory would be completely the same when he took it out, no matter how much time had passed.

It's almost like the concept of time doesn't exist inside it.

What this meant was that food inside would never go bad, and burning objects would still keep burning when he took them out.

And this was just naming a few of the obvious examples. Raze already had some other ideas regarding this property of his innate rune, and he was sure there were still many others he hadn't even thought of yet.

But that was enough about his inventory; the purpose of his makeshift fire torch was just to let him see things in his vicinity.

'I should be careful with this fire since most of the structures on this floor are made of wood. If I end up accidentally setting fire to something, I might get find out'

Reminding himself to be careful with the fire in his hand, the stairway finally ended as a completely dark room came into view.

Thankfully, with his fire torch in hand, he could see, and once he did, he almost wanted to jump out in joy.

He had finally found what he had been desperately eyeing since pretty much when he first entered this floor.

And that was obviously the weaponry of the goblins.

His arrow problem was soon about to run out as he could see all sorts of weapons, ranging from swords, spears, shields, daggers, and whatnot, lying around.

It's almost like asking him to take it.

It would be a lie to say that he wasn't disappointed, as the total number of weapons was quite a bit less than he expected.

Maybe because most of the soldier goblins already had weapons, and this was just all spares.

Not that it really mattered, as even just this was more than enough for him.

"Don't mind if I do."

"I can't believe this," Raze muttered in amazement, seeing his inventory.

At long last, he had finally solved his arrow problem and could now freely use his bow however much he wanted.

This was without even mentioning all the extra weapons that he had now.

He could already feel his mouth salivating just imagining all the different ways he could use these weapons.

Collecting every weapon here had definitely been a massive hassle for him and taken a lot of his precious time.

But it was definitely worth it, as it had skyrocketed his overall combat ability.

Not to mention, the goblins should still be busy with the ants without their chief here.

After all, he purposefully chose this moment to execute his plan when the chief was away.

He was pretty much done here; now all that was left was searching for the heir of this place and leaving.

And yet he didn't, instead moving towards another entrance that somehow led him even further down than he already was.

Some strange sounds were coming out of the floor, and strangely enough, there was even light coming out of the floor, which managed to pique his curiosity and lead him to steal a peek inside.
