"This is way better than expected" Raze praised.

It seemed that his inventory was even better than expected.

Not only did it let him store corpses, which already had some interesting implications and possibilities.

But it also let him stack the same items up to a certain amount.

This was really good, as it allowed him to really optimise his 100 item limit.

Initially, he was a bit worried, as he thought he would be wasting most of his storage space with useless disposable items and weapons for his sub effect but, it seems his worries were for naught.

He would have still preferred a combat oriented innate rune instead of his utility one, but constantly complaining about what he had instead of using everything he had to its full potential will just get him killed.

And that wasn't something he could allow.

"Even with the corpses gone, it still stinks" he muttered in annoyance at the bad stench as he scrunched his nose.

Originally, he was planning on just leaving this area, but now he had another idea.

If his guess was correct, nearby monsters should be moving towards this area, attracted by the strong smell of blood that still permeated this area.

Raze took out the corpse of a headless goblin and placed it in a clearly visible position to entice any beast that came here to feast on it.

As for Raze himself, he left the area and climbed a nearby tree.

It was a bit tough at first, but he had some experience climbing trees as a child with his dad, and his enhanced stats made it even easier.

Before long, Raze was atop a tall tree branch, hidden from plain sight.

His plan was simple: wait and see what kind of monsters come and potentially hunt them down.

Using his gun in the forest was a big no go due to all the noise it would make, which would attract monsters.

Fortunately, he had gotten a bow recently, which he should be able to effectively use to hunt thanks to his class benefit.

But there was another thing he wanted to try, and that was to use the subeffect of his innate rune.

His subeffect was the sole combat applicability that his innate rune possessed, and before making any further plans, he needed to know how effective it was.

**

It had now been 20 minutes, and Raze had almost given up thinking that no monster was about to come.

Or so he thought, but he was proven wrong as a lone red hound similar to the one the gang of goblins had hunted showed up.

The wolf-like beast looked around, trying to gauge any threat, but it seems like the beast didn't possess much intelligence as it didn't bother to look up in the trees, meaning Raze was still unseen.

The beast relaxed, not seeing any threat, and rushed towards the lone corpse on the ground and pounced on it to feast.

It teared the dead goblin apart limb by limb as it feasted on it hungrily, not caring in the slightest about all the mess it was making.

Raze was once again unsettled by the extremely gory and bloody sight and even felt a bit unafraid, but now wasn't the time to be scared.

For the past 20 or so minutes, he has been waiting for this exact moment.

If he hesitated now, there was no way he could survive and clear this dreadful tower.

With his resolve strengthened, he activated the subeffect of his innate rune.

As he did, he felt a tiny, negligible, but still noticeable amount of energy that he presumed to be mana leaving his body.

Barely taking a single second, a bright, small blue portal formed in front of Raze.

The portal was slightly bigger than his palm and didn't make any sound while forming.

He was a bit worried the beast might notice the portal forming, but the beast seemed too focused on the corpse it was devouring to detect the threat.

Raze didn't know why, but he almost instinctively knew how to use this portal, almost like the knowledge was always there and had just gotten unlocked now.

With a single mental command, he sent the F grade steel knife he had obtained on the first floor flying.

Raze felt even more of his mana getting drained, before he even knew it almost all his mana was gone, which left him in a fatigued and exhausted stage.

Now, the question was: was it worth it?

The knife flew in a straight line towards the unsuspecting beast at an incredible speed, too fast for Raze to see.

~Whistle~

It whistled in the air, which ended up alerting the beast, but it was already too late.

In less than the blink of an eye, the knife made contact with the head of the beast, and before Raze could even process anything.

~Swoosh~

Blood and innards flew everywhere as the head of the beast exploded upon contact, killing it instantly.

[Ding! Climber has gained a new beast shard]

Raze couldn't believe his eyes at the sheer devastation caused by his power.

Before long, he was able to reel back his shock and almost laugh at the sight before him.

He climbed down the tree he was on as he moved closer to observe the devastation caused by his power.

Red blood and innards painted the ground and were combined with the green blood and innards of the goblin from earlier, which created a truly disgusting and eye-breaking scene.

Even the smell of death from before was enhanced multiplefold, which would be enough to cause any normal person to vomit.

And yet, despite seeing all this, Raze didn't do any of that and instead smiled as he whispered.

"Maybe climbing this tower might not be as impossible as I thought"
