"Well, that went better than expected" Raze said as he climbed down the tree.
Over the last few minutes, a couple of creatures seemed to be moving towards the smoke. Too bad for them; they were all sniped by Raze before they even knew what hit them.
It's a bit of a shame that he didn't get any new beast shards, but as long as he wasn't dead, he didn't mind.
After all, there were plenty of opportunities to gain shards in the future, but only one life.
The racoon meat was done cooking, so now all that was left was to eat it and leave the area as soon as possible.
Thanks to his [farsight], he was able to observe the nearby monsters, and from what he saw, they didn't look that strong, but since he wasn't that strong either, they could still pose a threat to him.
Another interesting thing he had observed was the goblins in the forest, or rather, the lack of them.
That's right, even with his [Farsight], he hadn't seen even a single one, and if not for the scene of hunting he had stumbled upon by accident earlier, he wouldn't even know that there were goblins in this forest.
'It seems the goblins are a lot smarter and more coordinated than I initially gave them credit for'
If he had to guess that the goblins spent most of their time in their settlement, wherever that is, and only came out in big groups to hunt,.
Even he had to admit that this was a very smart tactic, as while individually the goblins might not be that dangerous.
Their insidious intelligence, weapons, and lack of self-preservation instinct when faced in large groups are not enemies anyone would want to face, and this obviously included Raze himself.
At this point, he was pretty sure that he was supposed to kill the heir of the goblin tribe in order to clear the floor.
While he didn't have any conclusive proof for his assessment, he was pretty sure that it was true.
'Oh well, I don't need to concern myself with all of this right now; let's just move on to the food.'
Finally, he put out the fire that he had painstakingly created in fear of it attracting more beasts.
As he took the meat from the wooden tool, it looked well cooked, almost as if made by an actual chef.
Of course, this wasn't actually the case, and honestly, Raze didn't even think it was cooked completely, but it didn't matter as long as it was edible.
It felt a bit weird to eat something that so closely resembled the racoons from his previous world, but it was much better than the alternatives of eating the dog like monster or goblin, which resembled small and very horrid-looking humans and would probably give him at least 20 different diseases.
Deciding to stop thinking about it, he took a bite.
As he tried to chew the meat, it felt rubbery and was hard to bite through, but with a bit of effort, he succeeded.
'This shit so ass'
The meat felt uncooked, unseasoned, grimy, and full of fat; never in his whole life had he eaten something so disgusting.
The taste almost made him puke it out, but he didn't, as he needed sustenance to survive.
It took a few very long seconds for him to finish it, and once he did, he had to take some long breaths just to relax and mentally prepare himself to eat the rest of it and not barf.
**
"God, that was awful," Raze complained after finishing the food.
Eating the meat that he had cooked was definitely one of the worst experiences of his life and something he never wanted to repeat.
Alas, he could do nothing but shudder in horror at the realisation that he needed to eat this monster meat for as long as he was on this floor and potentially until he completed the tutorial.
It was at this moment that Raze vowed to himself to learn cooking once he managed to get out and always carry food in his inventory.
'I hope I didn't get any diseases from that shit I just ate'
He hoped, though he wasn't that convinced.
"Anyways, let's get moving."
He had already removed all traces of his presence in the area and was preparing to go to the river he had seen with his [Farsight] earlier.
That's right, he finally had the solution to his water problem.
He had seen a few monsters around the area earlier, but as long as he was careful, he should be fine, or at least he hoped so.
