Chapter Three

Looking at her clothes and face, he wouldn't have know it was her if not for her voice. He clearly had OCD but looking at his beloved woman in cleaners clothes, how could he push her away. He had always dreamt of the day she would run into his arms but didn't expect it would be this way. But he was still happy altogether. He'll still appreciate even the little moments.

"What happened?" He asked in a stiff voice but there was a little warmth in it.

"I feel really hot...can you take me away?" She answered as she raised her drowsy eyes and looked at him making him feel like his soul was going to be sucked away. Her eyes were so clear and innocent that made him feel like a dinner corrupting an innocent soul. But what can he do? He was clearly a man in love.

Without waiting for another word from her, he carried her away and this time strode towards the elevator.

On his way from the hotel he called his personal doctor to meet him at his place. Since his house was in the city, it wouldn't take that long to reach and didn't go to his hotel room.

"Jin Chen, I feel so bad. Can you help me?" Yang Lifei seemed to have lost all her senses as she unbuckled her seat belt to put her hands on his chest while undoing the buttons of his shirt.

"Feifei...be good okay? You're going to be okay, I've called a doctor for you," Jin Chen was finding it difficult to drive with Yang Lifei all over him as he held on her hand with one hand and the other on the steering wheel. If this continued, they might get into an accident.

Good thing was that the drive was short and by the time he reached his penthouse, his doctor was already waiting for him since they lived in the same building to avoid inconveniences so grabbing his medical kit after coming fast from the engagement wasn't an issue.

When he got the call from Jin Chen to meet him at his place because of an emergency, only God knows how many red lights he had run.

Ye Mufan, Jin Chen's personal doctor and best friend, seeing him hurry into the penthouse carrying a blonde woman in a cleaner's clothes was shocked to no words.

Is Jin Chen crazy? He's carrying a cleaner back to his home on his engagement day!?

And what happened to his OCD today?

Damn it! He thought like he was seeing his friend for the first time.

"Chen, you..." He couldn't even find the words to describe what he was feeling at the moment. This guy had been madly in love with that Yang Lifei for so long and now he had a cleaner in his hands and not just that, an ugly cleaner!

Jin Chen ignored him as he strode towards his bedroom and placed her on his bed.

"Do something about her," he said coldly at his best friend before restraining the wandering hands of Yang Lifei. If he let her hands go, she might even tear off her clothes.

Seeing his friends cold gaze, he swallowed up his words and got to work. He first checked her temperature while asking the situation.

"Did you call me here for this? You already know the solution to her situation, why am I still here?" Ye Mufan asked in frustration. "If you knew you couldn't help her, why did you bring her here then, why not take her to her boyfriend?"

"She's Lifei," Jin Chen couldn't take his friend's rambling anymore and told him who she was.

"What? Why is she in a cleaner's clothes on her engagement day?" He couldn't help but ask, any normal person would do, right? Who in their right mind wears cleaner's clothes on their engagement?

And what's with that ugly make up on her face and the freckles and the blonde wig?!

"There's nothing you could do about it?" Jin Chen asked again. He didn't believe that there was nothing to he done to help his woman.

"Well, this drug is very strong and I don't have the antidote for it. This is not the hospital and you know that, maybe we could've found something in the hospital to counter the drug but you brought her home directly..."

"Then let's go," Jin Chen made to stand and scoop the woman from the bed but was stunned by the next words from Ye Mufan.

"I'm afraid it's too late. If she's not helped within ten minutes, her nervous system will be damaged by the drug. If you could keep her in ice water for 24 hours, that'll help. If not, help save her. She's your fiance already," Ye Mufan knew that this was taking advantage of the woman but what could they do? If they were to take her to the hospital, they will not be in time to save her. Right now, Jin Chen had to do everything to save his future wife.

Ice water? 24 hours? That was like he was freezing her to death? How could he?

Her life was in danger and knowing Jin Chen, he wouldn't want to keep his woman in ice cold water that long, right?

"Jin...Chen..." They heard a weak voice while they were still talking and bother turned to look at the woman whose face was now flushed red from the heat emitted by the effects of the drug.

"Get out," he spat at his friend who helplessly walked out of his bedroom and out of his penthouse. Ye Mufan was kind of excited. His friend was finally going to get laid, he had to thank that person who drugged Yang Lifei and also lit up some candles for them because they were doomed when the devil gets up tomorrow.

Who told them to drug Jin Chen's woman on their engagement day? Why they courting death? He could already foresee those people's ending already.

Ye Mufan could feel goosebumps thinking of what his friend would do and Yang Lifei's family as well. Those people chose the wrong person.
