Chapter Ten

"Hmm, so what will you be doing then? Staying at home?" He asked again. Knowing that she had had a difference with her only friends, the only option she had if not going to work was staying at home. But that will be too boring and he didn't want that, if he could draw her to his company he could have long time ago but he wasn't sure if that was something that she wanted.

"Nothing really, I was thinking of taking a break tomorrow and stay at home before going back to work. I know those despicable people would come looking for me if I go to work tomorrow and I need to be strong and hard hearted to face them," Jin Chen definitely knew who those two people were and he could also feel the anger radiating from her while talking about them. He rubbed her back gently while continuously kissing her hair to help her calm down.

"You don't want to deal with them. If you want to, I could just get rid of them right away," he told her but still wanted to know if her opinion since they were once her friends.

"No, I want to deal with them on my own. Can you let me do it alone and don't interfere?" She asked while raising her head and looking at his dark grey eyes.

"Feifei, I can't really promise you that," he said while having a serious look in his eyes like he wasn't going to back down about this.

"Please Chen, just let me do this. I promise if I encounter any mishap I'll ask for your help?!" She looked at him with watery eyes that made him drop all the seriousness he had before.

"Alright then, since you promised you'll ask for my help. But if I see something or hear anything dangerous about it, I'll interfere," that was the least he could compromise. Those watery eyes and pouty mouth was enough to make him forget his resolve. How could he sent her anything if she looked that adorable? Knowing that he and compromised a lot, she agreed with him.

"Tomorrow I'll just stay back and rest," she told him remembering that he had asked her what she was going to do the following day. She had to put her emotions at bay if she had to face Xue Li and Li Xuan and she also didn't want to make him worried about her since that's the only thing she's been doing ever since her rebirth.

"No that would be too boring for you. Why not go with me to the office tomorrow? I promise I wouldn't let you be bored," it would be better if she was around him for him not to be worried. If she went to work, her brother would be there but if she stayed back at home alone and there were no servants, he would be worried the whole day.

"Ah, wouldn't that be bothersome for you?" She was thrilled about the idea of going to his office with him. The excitement was clear from her shining eyes although her seemed a little sad for some reason.

"No, not at all. You'll never be a bother to me Feifei," seeing that she was actually excited about going to his office with him also made him happy. Soon the world will know she's his. If he could then he could have brought her to his office everyday so that he could see her while working. That would be a great motivation to him.

"Okay then, I'll go with you. I have nothing to do anyway and it'll be boring being all alone here," she mumbled softly but he was still able to hear what she said making him chuckle and she could feel it from the vibrations on his chest since she was leaning her head there.

She knew it was boring being alone but she still wanted to stay back at home, didn't she even think about going for shopping?

"Okay, after we've registered our marriage tommorow morning we'll go to the office together," she had almost forgotten their agreement about registering their marriage. She only bobbed her head up and down knowing she was almost going off when she suddenly raised her head, "What's the matter?" Jin Chen asked worriedly wondering what made her have such a huge reaction.

"Those cleaning clothes that I wore, where did you take them and also the wig?" She had promised that woman that she'll return them to her and she didn't want to break the first promise she had made after her rebirth.

"Seriously? I thought something huge had happened," he teased and seeing her looking at him with her blurry eyes that would close anytime, he sighed helplessly, "I didn't throw them away, you'll find them tomorrow." It was so hard keeping a serious facade when looking at her eyes.

"Okay, goodnight Chen," she gave a quick peck to lips leaving him in surprise and went back to lean her head on his chest before falling asleep. Jin Chen raised his hand to touch his still warm lips like he could still feel the lingering taste of her kiss before his lips curved into a gentle smile.

"Goodnight my love," he kissed her forehead and drifted off to sleep with a smile on his face with his love snuggling in his arms.
