Sea and Rum | Part 2

Who would've thought that the guy who wore glasses with shaggy hair, who looked as if he could be dead in two hits would be the infamous Pirate Lord's son? All of them were stunned, but later processed it in their heads quickly as they boarded the ship in no time.

"Oh god.. I forgot about this" Callista took a deep breathe when she felt like she was going to vomit "Seriously, how can you forget that you get sea sick?" Anastasia said while shaking her head

"Because I rarely set foot in a ship, Ana" she sarcastically replied "Here, try this" Marin said and handed the tired Callista a blue pill "What's this?" she asked "I get sea sick the first time I came here and Caspian gave me this. It helps with the nausea" she smiled so she glanced at the blue pill in her hand

"Here" Anastasia handed over a water bottle from her bag "Thanks" she said and didn't think twice in swallowing the medicine "Do you live here, Marin?" Anastasia asked and looked at the girl.

"Yes, I recently moved here from the South last year and attended the Academy the same year" she explained "I remember. Didn't you a participate on the singing competition last year?" she asked so Marin happily nodded. Callista was so tired that she stumbled her way into the cabin of the ship to rest.

Ivan turned to Caspian with a smile "You're part of the Abnormal Class, right? How did you get there?" he asked curiously "Oh, about that.." he chuckled with an awkward smile.

"Its because I accidentally summoned a tsunami on the Hunting Grounds on the first day while touring the Academy, I almost drowned five students in the area" he explained with his head lay low "Seriously!? That's so cool!" Ivan exclaimed that Denovan nodded in agreement.

"Is it really?" Caspian shyly asked "Of course it is! Elementalists are rare between magic users. I'm the only one who can control lightning in the Academy" Ivan said with a happy grin "You often see mages using basic arcane magic to cast elemental spells, but not elementalists" Denovan added.

"That's nice to hear" he smiled "Although you really don't fit in that class" Ivan commented so Caspian shook his head "That's not true! All of the rumors about the Abnormal Class isn't true!" he denied and the two men looked at each other when they saw Caspian's earnest expression in protecting the Abnormal Class.

"We really didn't mean it like that, Caspian" Denovan shook his head in an attempt to explain as Caspian looked like a small puppy that was wronged. How can the Pirate Lord that was known for his ruthless and wild personality has a son like this!?

"As you know, the students in Abnormal Class looked like born troublemakers and as for you.. Uhm.." Ivan tried looking for the right words as he glanced at Denovan for help who avoided it in return making him squint his eyes

"...You look different from when you were in school but looking at your appearance right now you look more piratey?" Ivan scratched his head with the weird words coming out of his mouth "Is that so?" Caspian's face instantly brightened "Yes, that's right" the both of them nodded as if simply agreeing to avoid making the situation worse.

"That's nice to hear" Caspian smiled "Anyways, have you seen Ignis?" Denovan asked while looking around when he realized the man missing "Oh, the Young Duke?" Caspian asked and glanced at the door Callista walked in "He went inside. It seemed he was going to get some rest" he explained "I see" Denovan only nodded his head.

Callista was comfortably sleeping on the room she and Anastasia shared on the ship when Ignis suddenly entered not long after. He froze when he saw Callista on the bed and looked around the room before realizing that he entered the wrong cabin.

He sighed and was about to leave the room when Callista woke up when she sensed another presence in the room.

"Ignis?" she called out as her vision adjusted to the light and saw his familiar silhouette so the man cleared his throat

"You're awake?" he asked so Callista brushed her hair up "Why are you here?" she asked back and stood properly in the bed "I entered the wrong room" he said "Is that so?" her voice was low and delicate and her brown locks fell on her face as she was still in a daze.

It was a beautiful sight to be honest, especially how her pretty grey eyes looked down on the floor, highlighting her fluttering eyelashes.

Ignis cleared his throat again when he realized he was staring too much "You continue resting. I'll be leaving now" he turned around once again to leave when he heard her voice "Wait a minute" he glanced back to see her standing up as she straightened her dress.

"What is it?" he asked as she came forward "Don't you think this place feels weird?" she asked and crossed her arms "Weird?" he asked so she nodded "I know you've noticed since we arrived at the Village earlier. How there are less ships on the deck or how the village people kept glancing at us" she explained.

"Isn't it normal to glance when the royal family suddenly appeared?" he asked and studied her face as she pouted "You know that's not true" she said "Then what are you saying?" he asked with furrowed brows.

"I heard from the waitress on the ice cream shop that people who visited the village and stayed in a nearby inn would mysteriously die in the morning. Even the pirate crew on the ships also have the same problem" she explained.

"I didn't know you cared so much of the people" Ignis tilted his head as Callista glared at him "Nonsense! Why would I do that? I'm only saying the things I've observed that would possibly harm you while on this trip" she huffed

"Fine" he sighed in defeat as if he didn't have the energy to argue with her "But don't cause trouble" he stated "As if I would!" she answered and Ignis stared at her for a few seconds before his mouth opened "I have something I'm curious about" he started so Callista curiously looked up at him

"What is it?" she asked with her big doe eyes and felt even more curious when she saw Ignis's hesitation "What are you hesitating for? Just tell me" she said "Why did your grandmother die?" he asked as Callista stiffened.

"Why are you curious about that?"

"The Valley of Illusions"

Ignis only said four words but Callista completely understood as she sighed "Grandmother died from the monster attack. Because we live far from the Capital nor part of a village, no one was really able to help her except if adventurers discovered her body. I only saw her half alive when I came out to find her" she explained.

"That's why you came to the Academy?" he asked so she nodded "That's right. That was her last request on her deathbed although I don't know the reason why" she said before looking back at him when he didn't answer

"Did I give you a satisfying answer? Why suddenly come up with that question? " she asked so Ignis nodded "It's nothing. I only wanted an answer" he said "I'll leave now" he announced "Alright" she nodded with a smile "Have a good rest, Ignis" she said as Ignis left the room leaving her staring at his retreating form.
