Hua Yan entered the palace for a visit and was a bit tired. She fell asleep in the carriage.
Yun Chi embraced Hua Yan and wrapped her with his cloak, afraid that she would catch a chill. He also took a thin blanket to cover her and thought to himself that she was still frail; otherwise, she wouldn't be so easily fatigued.
Upon returning to the Eastern Palace, Yun Chi carried Hua Yan down from the carriage, still wrapped in the blanket.
Halfway there, Hua Yan woke up and said with a mumble to Yun Chi, "When did I fall asleep?"
Yun Chi looked down at her and, since she was bundled up so tightly that only her eyes were visible, he said softly, "You fell asleep while talking to me."
Hua Yan nodded and closed her eyes again, thinking to herself that her body really seemed too weak, so tired and exhausted all the time, and feared that she would become a burden to Yun Chi. She yawned and said, "Have Tian Bujue check my pulse again!"
