Yun Chi laughed at her words, looking at Hua Yan with tender affection mingled in his heart.
He spoke to her gently, slowly saying, "Just applying an ice pack, what's so good about that? Besides, how could I not treat you well? You are the Crown Princess Consort whom I have sought with great effort. My only fear is not treating you well enough."
Hua Yan chuckled, "You've treated me well enough, very well. I'm just afraid that you'll spoil me, make me lazy, and turn me into someone who doesn't work and can't even distinguish grains."
Yun Chi smiled, "That might be for the best, so that you don't exhaust your mind and harm your body."
Hua Yan pursed her lips and smiled.
An hour later, the swelling in Hua Yan's eyes had gone down. Yun Chi put down the ice pack and held her in his arms, "You played chess with your eldest maternal uncle in the study all night without rest, you must be tired now, go to sleep."
Hua Yan nodded and nestled into Yun Chi's arms, closing her eyes.
