The loud beeping of the alarm broke the harmony. Every single corner was consumed with the harsh beep-beep of the alarms. Within seconds, the whole corridor was flooded with people. Shock written all over their faces.
"WHOOSSHHH"
A tear gas came flying in. The moment it hit the floor, the whole area was covered in smoke. The shock turned into chaos and everyone started fleeing the scene.
I tried to look around me, but it was nearly impossible. It felt like someone wrapped a milky white opaque blindfold around my eyes. Strong fingers grabbed my arm and pulled me with them. We were just running at this point. I looked at the person leading me. He was wearing a black mask that covered his face except for his eyes and mouth. He looked like Aiden, but a bit bigger.
We were about to take a turn when gunshots started blazing in our direction. It was getting very chaotic moment after moment. For a split second, I thought I was going to make out of this mess fast. There were approximately 5 people shooting at us. Only one of us was armed. His eyebrows furrowed, he looked hesitant to shoot at him. His eyes were looking at around desperately trying to spot something.
Another tear gas was thrown in our direction. My stupidity kicked in and I instantly threw it towards them. Without stopping, I started sprinting in the opposite direction. The guy quickly caught up with me. We both were running in synching. Our bodies were traveling at the same velocity.
I saw the stairs leading downstairs, I motioned them to follow me. We went down the stairs and in no time we were in one of the underground rooms. A bit surprising, but no one was there. It was completely empty. It was just the two of us there.
Without thinking, I looked at the person and said, " So am I going to see your face or not?"
