Wen Qinxi had his head lowered as he sat in the heart of his pristine lab, bathed in the sterile glow of fluorescent lights. The walls were a clinical white and spacious.

His fingers danced across the keyboard, lines of code flowing from his mind to the screen. A motherboard lay on the white workbench. It was a delicate lattice of circuits and silicon, the neural nexus for the AI body that had been delivered. 

The room was silent except for the soft whir of cooling fans and the occasional tap of keys. His eyes were fixed on the motherboard and his iced coffee sat untouched, forgotten, as lines of code scrolled across the monitor like ancient runes.

The screen behind him suddenly lit up and the image of a cat lazily lying on a scratching post appeared.
