概要

They met by chance, standing on the edge of a cliff, but it felt as though fate had brought them together from the start. "I have no regrets about saving you, even though we were strangers. If given the chance, I would do it all over again without hesitation. I can see that you are going through a lot of pain and struggles, and I understand your fear of the unknown. I want to be there for you, to offer my help and support. Please allow me to be that person for you. Whenever you need someone to lean on, I'll be there. If you need to talk about how you're feeling, my ears are always open. If you feel lonely or neglected, know that I will be here for you, a constant presence in your life. Although we were strangers at first, I can't deny the strong connection I feel for you. Whenever you need someone to share your day with, know that I'm just a phone call away. And one more thing - you don't need to impress me, because my love for you is already deeply rooted. You don't have to reciprocate my feelings, because my love for you is enough for both of us. That's how much I care about you." "Loving a broken man is okay, but loving a man who had once rejected you without even meeting you? That's another thing altogether. Zilvshun, a surgeon doctor who has everything any man would ever want in a woman, accepted the offer of her family to marry someone she had never seen before, but she was brutally rejected without answers. That was perfectly fine with her but after that one rejection came multiple ones, and it was still okay until fate decided to bring her back to the man that had rejected her, and that was still okay, but him taking her virginity and still choosing another over her, now that was something she would never accept. Not in this life or the next."

Chapter 1Starring Night sky.

Most individuals highly prized destiny, however, fate introduces ambiguity into the paths we take in life. It is possible that we should have been more wise, not constantly pursuing perfection but rather appreciating the blessings life has given us, such as family, friends, and loved ones.

At times, we may have unintentionally disappointed our loved ones by thinking our actions were correct, but what if we had been mistaken all along?

We may have failed to properly value the positive aspects of our lives. Nevertheless, if fate grants us a chance to make amends, we should seize it and ensure it is worthwhile.

*********

The night was beautiful, with neon lights illuminating the city and making it look like thousands of stars scattered across the dark sky. When observed from above, the tall skyscrapers added to the city's beauty. However, that wasn't the only thing that made the night beautiful and peaceful for the city's residents.

In reality, the thousands of stars could only be seen clearly from the outskirts of the lighted city. That's exactly where someone was looking at that very moment.

She loved the twinkling of the stars and was amazed by the beauty of the galaxy. The quiet night was her solace, so she sat at the edge of a cliff with the ocean beneath her. A bottle of red wine sat beside her, accompanied by two wine glasses. This was her nightly routine.

The night breeze was cold, but she didn't care as she was enjoying herself. Looking up at the sky, she imagined how it would feel to be a star. No work or stress, just you and the sky.

The city on the left side of the ocean looked enchanting, with its various types and shades of neon lights glowing. The wind blew, causing her long dark hair to flutter behind her. If someone else witnessed this scene, they might have thought that the lady sitting at the edge of the cliff, with her hair dancing in the wind, was a goddess guarding her people from harm.

Suddenly, footsteps interrupted her peaceful moment, causing her to furrow her brows in displeasure. She turned to see who had disturbed her, ready to scold and kick the person out of her comfort zone. However, her words got stuck in her throat.

She quickly got to her feet and approached the person standing a few feet away.

"Hey, what are you trying..." she started, but before she could finish her sentence, the stranger jumped off the cliff without hesitation.

Her eyes widened, but she quickly composed herself, taking off her jacket and heels before jumping off the cliff after him.

She held her breath underwater, searching for the person with intense focus. She saw the person sinking just below where she was. Thankful for the bright moon, she dived down and grabbed him by the waist, swimming quickly towards the surface.

Their heads emerged from the water, and she released the breath she had been holding. She gently laid him at the edge of the ocean, placing her hands on the left side of his chest and performing CPR. After a few seconds, he coughed up water.

After coughing, he sat up and patted his chest as if soothing the discomfort.

The young woman watched him, giggling in amusement. Her giggles caused him to frown.

"Why did you save me?" he asked, finally calming his breath. He couldn't just understand why someone would waste time to save his life, he didn't deserve it. You might not understand but it was the truth.

"I couldn't watch you die. You shouldn't waste your beauty," she replied with a chuckle. She was actually fascinated by the man's beauty, she wondered how could a man be so full of beauty.

"No matter what happens in life, you should always try your best to be yourself. Not everyone will stay in our lives forever, even if they promise to," she added, her gaze fixed on the calm ocean as it glowed with the help of the of the moon.

"You don't have to fight alone. If you have a family, give them the chance to love you because there's nothing more powerful than the love and support of a family," she advised the stranger who was looking at her. " She doesn't know what she's talking about" he missed silently.

"Even though their love and support can't heal all your internal wounds or mend your broken heart, it will instill hope in your soul; a hope for a better tomorrow," she told him, studying his side profile as he was now facing the ocean.

"I don't know how to do it. Going back will just bring back the memories from tonight. It's too hard to face them," he said, looking out at the ocean.

"My family warned me, but I didn't listen. I told them I didn't care if I lost everything I worked hard for her. If having her makes me lose everything, then I'm glad to lose every dime I've got for her. But I never knew she was just pretending to be by my side," he continued, a scoff leaving his thin lips.

"I denied them as my family. I even denied my friends. I didn't listen to anyone. I thought having the woman I desired was enough. I'm simply the most horrible man ever to walk the surface of the earth," he said, mocking himself.

"They'll take you back because you're their own. They might have hated your past decisions, but they won't abandon you. Instead, they'll be happy that you came back to them in the end, with a lesson learnt" she replied honestly.

Her words gave him some hope but also made him nervous.

"Let's get you home; otherwise, you might catch a cold," the stranger said, getting to her feet. She was wearing a white dress shirt and a pair of bluish skinny jeans that brought out her every curve.

The young man mimicked her actions, doing the same. They both walked in silence up the cliff. The young woman gave him a jacket and a spare helmet. She placed the wine, glasses and heels into a shopping bag before mounting the motorcycle with the man in tow.

It took them twenty minutes to reach his home. The two security men were surprised to see him on the motorcycle with a lady, but they didn't show it. Instead, they immediately opened the gate and let them in.

The motorcycle stopped in front of an elegant four-story ancient building. Flowers adorned the sides of the fenced yard, while the house floor was perfectly paved. The young man got off the motorcycle and removed the helmet, hesitating as he looked at the entrance of the house.

Suddenly, a memory flashed into his mind.

***Flashback***

"Hold it right there, young man, and listen carefully. Don't ever bring that woman to my home because I don't want her as my daughter-in-law. She doesn't deserve it," a middle-aged man with silver-blond hair said in a cold tone, stopping the young man in his tracks.

He turned to face the older man and replied with an equally cold tone, "She's going to be your daughter-in-law, and that's final."

"We will see about that," the older man replied calmly but with a deadly tone before walking away.

***End of Flashback***

"I can't do this; take me back," he said to the lady standing beside him, his hands were shaking with the tips of his fingers turning cold.

Upon hearing his words, she quickly got off the motorcycle and stood beside him.

"I won't take you back because if you don't walk through that door today, you'll never be able to do it in the future," she replied, taking his hand into hers.

"I know we're strangers, but I want to help you go back to your family because I don't want to regret not helping when I could," the young lady told him with pleading eyes as they stared each other in the eyes. For a moment he was lost while looking into her eyes.

"Let's go," she added, leaving no room for argument, as she broke eye contact with him. The young man wanted to argue with her but he just didn't know how to form the words. What she didn't know was that, he has already bitten the hands that fed him for years.

Both of them entered the manor, one with nervousness and the other with determination in her eyes. The young man was unsure if what he was doing was right, while the young lady felt it was the right thing for him to do and believed that she shouldn't leave him to face it alone.
