Save me...

Dreams are the souls of humans, for if one does not dream one does not live. Many people claim that dreams without plans are simply wish lists, however it is a universal fact though highly unpopular, that one does not require a plan to live. Unfortunately, this realization dawned upon me at a later stage. It is an underrated yet vital lesson that I wished we all learnt in our childhood. Dreams may shatter, but picking up the pieces and rebuilding it is not a mere illusion or an impossibility.

A deep husky and an extremely enunciated voice resonated throughout the building of the Seoul Olympic Stadium, capturing the attention of the gathered crowd who ran wild upon hearing the announcement, whilst startling a few timid groups, and unintentionally setting off a chorus of petrified wails from the oblivious innocent babies, who were dragged against their will, to satisfy the fanatic passions of their parents. The atmosphere transformed into one bursting with static waves of joy, excitement and anticipation. Different people from all over the world were gathered at this one spot all brought together for one purpose and one person only. The very person who managed to be the center and the cause of this extraordinary union.

The dressing room was buzzing with an aura of hustle coupled with frustration, as numerous people dashed back and for at different intervals. They were the only people who seemed to be further perturbed by the announcement, which only seemed to increase the present felt surge of emotions. A young dresser decked in a black long sleeved top and jet black denims, with a name tag dangling around her neck like a dog, bounded into a separate dressing room, where a tall young lady in a black dressing robe, with red nails and hair twisted into an extremely high bun was reclined. She proceeded to address the lady.

Madam you have only ten minutes left burst out the young lady.

Should I.

Her words trailed off as the tall lady slowly gestured with her right hand, indicating her dismissal. Head bent, like a disgraced child the dresser slowly backed out of the room, leaving the tall lady, having done the needful.

Arya glanced at her reflection and the corners of her mouth curled up into a smile. The long awaited and much anticipated moment had finally arrived. A moment which she had been mentally replaying since the day of its discovery. She tilted her head back and closed her eyes as a couple of attendants began to douse her face with a variety of cosmetics. Her mind slowly drifted off like a wandering cloud into the past as she recalled the day. The precise moment and place, where it had all begun.

One night, she was wandering about for two hours on the road. It was raining heavily and she was drenched from head to toe. She was sick and extremely tired of her life and dark thoughts about finally ending it crept into her mind like an unwanted visitor. She wandered about aimlessly, as if burdened by the curse of Cain, with tears streaming down her face like two rivulets. It must have been late midnight as the roads was very calm and there were no any vehicles at this time. She stopped at a tall tree and sat on a rock which had been placed under the tree as a seat. She glanced at the puddles of water as drops of water splashed from above, creating ripples which at that point seemed to have a meditative aura. She felt abandoned, lost and hopeless. The rain offered great means of camouflaging her tears, and she felt silently grateful as she hated crying in public. She remembered her parents who loved her unconditionally till death did them part. She began to cry even harder. Tears flooded her face in torrents and she let out a low moan. The pain, the emptiness, the aching pit in her stomach was indescribable. Her chest throbbed heavily as if her heart was trying to leap out of the cage that it was imprisoned in. Even the rain was highly reminiscent of her parents memories. Her dad was a manager at a famous company of Seoul and he never failed to make her and her mom happy at any given moment. She heard of how daughters love their fathers very much, and she was fortunate enough to have witnessed the verity behind that concept. Being a daughter, her father happened to be the hero of her story whilst the one behind his heroic work was none other than her mother. They were a happy family however none of them expected to find out that their happiness was short lived. One day, her dad was convicted as a felon for fraud. He had edited fake accounts and upon substantial evidence he was convicted. Unable to bear the brunt of the disgrace and shame that he had wrecked upon his family he committed suicide. Her mother death followed due to the shock and Arya was all alone without anyone. She had no place to go and no one to look after her. To make matters worse, her house was seized by the bank because of the loan they owed due to the fraud. Arya had just attended her parents funeral and was now seated on the side walk, as she was now homeless. Her conflicting thoughts were engaged in an ongoing battle in which the only way peace could be attained lay at the prospect of death. She couldnt go to school because other kids are trying to bully her being the daughter of a convict and Nobody was willing to associate her. The disease of convicts, they called it. The last time she went to school, some boys had locked her in the store room until the very next morning, when she was discovered by the Gatekeeper. Arya first decided to quit the school and now here she was in the same position, contemplating the prospect of quitting her life as well. Arya was ready to give up her dreams. Her dream to be a singer.

The rain continued its downpour as she was walking toward a tall building. She started climbing the stairs and finally reached the rooftop. She walked toward the wall and climbed on to it. There were lots of tiny lights and the whole town appeared like a little galaxy. She was lost in her thoughts again and heard a voice murmur to her. Save me. She ignored the voice and got ready to jump from the wall. She couldnt find the end down there and thought to herself Its for a minute and then its done. She tried to reassure herself. Again she heard the voice Save me . Suddenly she was startled when a big screen lit up in front of her from the building in front. A video was playing where the seven boys danced to a song.

Listen to my heartbeat; it calls you whenever it wants to,

Because within this pitch black darkness, you are shining so brightly.

Give me your hand, save me! Save me! I need your love before I fall.fall..

The song bore into her ears repeating itself consistently. She stared through the screen and watched the song until the end. It reminded her of her parents and the time they spent together happily and she realized step by step what caused her to stand on this wall. She heard her own voice singing the song. It was broken and hoarse and sore voice and not in her usual voice when she sang happily. She realized her dream and she remembered, Her mom and dad staring at her face lovingly with smiles plastered on their faces. She decided to live. The song she heard gave her hopes to live. Arya wanted to find these seven voices who gave courage her to live this life. She wanted to thank them in a perfect way at the perfect time. They unknowingly saved her life and gave her hopes to live. She finally came to terms with reality and began to accept it.

That day she climbed down the wall. It was the turning point in her life and she did the right thing in her life. One day she did find those seven voices that saved her and those kind people who helped her to follow her dreams and who taught her to love herself.

Time had lapsed and now Arya was at the big stadium of South Korea. She was finally going to stand on the stage and sing in front of big crowd. Sudenly, she stood up from the stool after her name was called startling the make-up artists and ran towards the back door. But instead of going on to the stage she turned and started running through the hallways of backstage. The lady who was with the name tag, my manager cried out.

Madam you have to go on the stage in two minutes, where are you going? Madam.Madam.

She turned and stopped in front of a large brown door. A notice hang on the door. It read, BTS Waiting room. Arya tentatively knocked on the door and didnt wait to open the door. She opened the door by herself impatiently to see none other than the seven souls who carried their ultimate dream to the highest point of the world. The very seven voices that saved her were now standing here in front of her with smiles filled with kindness on their faces. She had spoken to them a lot and trained with them to sing for umpteenth times as well as enjoyed the moments they spent together, but now Arya was at a loss of her words. Manager came running and panting and said, Madam, you should go on the stage now. she nodded at her manager and turned to the seven people she mostly care about from the whole world and mouthed the only words that came out from her mouth -THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME! and left. She knew after the show she owed them lots of explanations and seven boys won't her spare until she gives the reasons. Now Arya is happy. She had found her dream and here she is, skipping on stage singing with her heart and soul. She can hear the cheers erupting from the crowds once she finished her performance. She was saved by her important seven persons who gave her a better life the good seven souls. And she survived. This was her story.
