Might Duy. The father of Konohas Eight Gates style.
I call it a style but it's just a series of moves that can only be performed effectively under the enhanced state of the Eight Gates. Effectively being an overstatement as the overall damage to ones self wasn't exactly harmless but the Eight Gates did allow one to unleash the body's potential on a level reserved for supreme beings. Even in a world of slightly psychopathic killing machines this technique was a bit much.
Naturally as a new resident killing machine, I wanted to master such a useful technique. So I looked to Duy as a resource.
Quite frankly he was an odd situation.
At this point in time he had already mastered the use of all eight gates. Someone of such caliber though had ruined his chances of becoming a chuunin or jonin to simply master one technique to its extreme. Duy was 1 year younger than all the Sanin and with the Eight Gates he was no less than any of them, the difference is he only shined once before death.
The main reason he didn't shine as much as he should was the Eight Gates themselves. They caused extreme physical and mental strain and couldn't be used foolishly. This is the point I was trying to research into non existence.
While Duy could open all Eight gates I could only open three and I was not even close to 4 even if I forced it. Opening the gates simply required one to nearly break eight key tenketsu in the body by over saturating them with chakra thereby opening these limiters.
The key point here being the amount of chakra required was unique to the individual. Even with the required chakra amount and control to open the gates, your body also had to be able to handle the strain of any gate opening. Primarily due to the fact if you weren't careful you'd end up just physically crippling yourself and/ or destroying your tenketsu.
My answer to these problems was creating two currently nonexistent techniques:
The seven heavens breathing method and the body revival jutsu.
The seven heavens breathing method sounds like something out of a wuxia novel, and it was. By breathing in and filling the body with excess oxygen you could replicate feats similar to the Eight Gates. Obviously the creator of the technique (Shira) wasn't fond of the Eight Gates' eighth step being death. Hence seven and not eight breaths.
Now a man of science would say the technique still sounds like a sure way to die of Hyperoxia. It was.
Chakra was a miraculous thing though. The method actually worked by internally converting that excess oxygen intake directly into an excess amount of chakra. Then expelling that excess chakra all across the body. Essentially recreating the eight gates key function and not having to risk the additional detriments.
Then you have the body revival jutsu. This one was a bit of a cheat. The medical-nin Shinno took the concept of bio feedback to the extreme and actually managed to pull something miraculous off. At its base the technique allowed one to reach a state of extreme body control and grant a minor healing factor. Specifically it manipulated a muscles' ability to grow stronger after healing itself.
Being short and sweet it was just making yourself a saiyan. By using the extreme body control you could heal the damage received to the body in a way meant to fortify rather then just heal like creation rebirth did. This would end up giving the user an effect similar to a saiyan Zenkai and improving the users natural physique. Essentially what an electric belt work out does for lazy people, except actually effective.
The jutsu had limits though and wasn't going to make you a walking tank all on its own. Combining this initial jutsu with dark chakra was what brought the technique to insane levels. Using the dark chakra to empower the fortification process you reached superhuman healing, strength, speed, and endurance. Supposedly to the point one could survive the Eight Gates without any damage. As the Eight Gates damage should perpetually fortify the user when combining the techniques.
This in turn leads me to what my technique would be based on: Saiyans.
By using the body revival technique in conjunction with the seven heavens breathing method? You would be a saiyan who was gathering energy. Combining this with the eight gates? Hello super saiyan!…..In theory.
I lacked the physical training to test out my theories. The main reason I never used the Eight Gates even though I knew how to open them was simply that it freaking hurt. Sure I could heal myself to not have any side effects via a Restoration load but it didn't mean I should strain my body and mind simply because I could. Especially when I had other methods available.
Running the initial tests on my self. I used the body revival technique and linked it to my strength of a hundred seal to bring my muscles to my current peak physical state and boost my natural healing passively. I also used the body revival technique to quickly double my lung capacity. This process lasted for a few months. I pretty much turned myself into a peak athlete.
The final result allowed me to activate the first breath of seven heavens breathing. Using the excess chakra provided I made it a replacement for dark chakra. I triggered a super soldier state more or less. When I had pulled it off I seemed like a super saiyan, my eyes went white and I released a yellow aura around me.
Then I decided to progressively released the first 3 Gates. I was rocking that Broly look by the end, well if you look past the blood red skin. I couldn't hold the state long though so I reverted back to just my body revival state.
Unfortunately I had to workout the kinks in my self created version of the body revival technique it wasn't enough to mitigate the Eight Gates yet. It wasn't providing enough healing for the fortification to be beneficial. Only my seven breaths technique went well and I genuinely didn't know what would happen if I went past improving my lung capacity fourfold. To be honest while the technique made sense the possibility of it becoming detrimental was still real.
Anyways since I couldn't handle it I decided to test it out on my current taijutsu teacher. A test that never should have been run.
While Duy couldn't use the body revival technique, he didn't really need to. His physical body was far superior to my own without the revival technique. Should he be able to master the body revival technique, he could likely mitigate most of the Eight Gates damage to his physique. I still taught him the technique just to see if he can learn it. That was wishful thinking as the medical technique didn't really gel with his skill set.
Regardless the breath technique focused on increasing lung capacity multiple folds allowing one to endure combat longer without tiring and converting that additional oxygen into chakra. Instead of using Eight Gates Duy could use the third breath as a replacement. As a result I had accidentally made Duys front lotus technique a multi use technique. With this Duy could use it without tiring while using the third breath.
Still the combination of seven heavens breathing technique and the Eight Gates made him a monster. When Duy used both techniques the sevens breath excess chakra created would then be amplified, controlled, and regulated by the Eight Gates.
Duy clearly saw the benefit of the seven heavens breathing method and took to extreme training on his lung capacity. This would be something I came to regret teaching him, as he ended up dragging me with him. My sweet free time was once again ruined.
After several months you could see a green streak and a blue streak clash with one another in the forest of death. Felling trees and killing weaker beasts by mere shock waves alone. The green streak always won the clashes so far.
So it was, that Konohas Demon Green Beast was born. A title that would bring absolute terror during the second Great War.
As a medical-nin Ren can pull the research to create the techniques off.
To be honest Tsunade is a little underwhelming in canon as she has the ability to pull it off as well . Her unique transformation technique and creation rebirth seem to work on similar principles as body revival already. With her chakra control creating seven breaths and gaining the Eight Gates should also be possible, add creation rebirth then she’d be extremely OP but….plot.
