RWBY: The Time Bender

Many believe World War 3 is around the corner, but to Braxely he was the cause of it. Living in a world that seems to have nothing for him but pain, he goes through life, and after the final straw is broken he snaps. Once he tirades through a majority of the planet, becoming the ruler of said majority, he is ousted by betrayal to only kill himself in a fit of finality to not spread his hidden technology to the world. Unknown to him, he would be torn from his plane of existence, and his very universe, in favor of being given another chance in a faraway universe that holds the tale of RWBY. Now, with his memories fuzzy about his previous life and his desire to both remember himself and find his way in this world as penance for what he has done in his previous one, Argento Chrono sets out on a journey that would change the course of this world. If it is for the better or not of the world, it is up to fate, because she doesn't like to be messed with. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I do not own any part of RWBY but my own characters and any likeness to other forms of entertainment are either your imagination or simply inspiration.

Battle's Aftermath

*3rd POV*

"Save her…" As her son slipped from consciousness, Amelia felt anger she hasn't felt in a long time, but this time it was laced with guilt. She had been caught up in the cheerful joking that her son strangely seemed to understand, but when she felt a small tug on the hem of her dress and saw Ivy without her son, she could feel a small pit form in her stomach. As soon as Ivy pointed out the alley, Amelia booked it with Maxwell almost immediately doing the same. With the Cassinovas reacting a little later, the Chronos seemed to almost immediately appear at the alley with impossibly fast speed.

Upon arriving, Amelia saw a sword about to drive into the chest of her son, and without even looking at who was wielding the sword she threw her throwing knife straight into the chest of the bastard who dared to harm her baby. Maxwell had only seen the attack fly from his wife, and the bloodied form of his son, barely not dead. Suddenly appearing in front of the degenerate, he shattered his weak blade in his hand before angrily grabbing its face and pushing it away from his son. He may have forgotten to fully contain his strength as it flew into the wall across the alley, but he couldn't care less.

As Laela rounded the corner, she blanched at seeing such a young child in such terrible condition, now immensely grateful for the foresight she had in leaving her daughter behind with her husband. Kneeling to Amelia's side, she finds the mother gently handing over her son to the doctor as she slowly stood.

"Take care of him."

"I will!" With Laela resolutely replying to the now seemingly emotionless mother, Amelia proceeded to flip out enough hidden throwing knives to fill both hands and sprinted towards the remaining deviants. Staying behind with Laela and his injured son to protect them, Maxwell is barely able to hold himself back, knowing if he did go forward there would be less scum left in this world.

Red. That was almost the only thing Amelia could see and feel at this point. There was such immense anger that the targets of her rage were visibly shaking.

"Wait! We didn't - Ugh!"

"We couldn't - Ack!"

"We wanted - Ahh!"

Watching his wife jump effortlessly between the scared men across the alley, Maxwell couldn't help but be reminded of darker times, full of screams from creatures and humans alike, fighting alongside others with similar eyes to him, and being led by a man with a vision and perspective of hidden things, the past, and the present.

At the sound of a blade against flesh, Maxwell is brought out of his flashbacks to see barely breathing bodies of 6 men, and the dead one still stuck in the wall from him. Remembering the words her son had said to them Amelia glances over to find the mother passed out, and the little girl hiding behind her. Making sure she didn't get their filthy blood on herself, once she's certain she's clean, she walks over to the girl.

"It's okay now, there's no need to be scared." Warily poking her head out from behind her unconscious mother, the girl's dull brown eyes meet the hazel-green eyes of Amelia. "Are you okay?" With a small nod of confirmation, Amelia moves to wake the mother up but stops as she hears a group of rushing footsteps coming towards the alley. Arriving at the entrance to the alley, a small platoon of police can be seen with their weapons at the ready. When they see the numerous bodies on the ground and a bloody child they collectively falter, and a man dressed in slightly flashier gear steps forward, keeping his gun at the ready.

"What happened here?"

Having similar experiences from before, Maxwell pulls out his scroll [the equivalent of phones in RWBY], and as the screen popped up he said, "Just some criminals that went too far. Now I would appreciate you lowering your weapons." With some more hesitant than others, they all complied, as the screen was something they weren't prepared for:

Name: Chrono, Maxwell

LN: 54716-86453-20395

Place of Issue: Vytal

Authority: United Powers

Restrictions: None

— — — — — — — — — — — — — —

Despite the suspicious {Place of Issue} and {Authority}, the {None} and the injured child on the ground were enough for even the most cautious to believe the integrity of it (of course they would request the information from their higher-ups once they were back to the precinct, but that was classified)

"When you are all done being slow at your job, I have a very hurt child to care for and I must get to the hospital!" With a few police recognizing the gorgeous doctor, there was finally a scramble to get the injured to the nearest hospital. Holding back a sneer, Amelia pays attention to the woman on the ground again and attempts to wake her up. After failing for half a minute, she quickly calls over one of the police to not have to deal with this, and while she walks away the little girl begins to follow her from a short distance.

Noticing her small shadow, she merely raises her eyebrow as she continues in the direction of her son and husband, who is being escorted to one of the bigger police vehicles. Though she was very slightly hesitant to bring the child with her, she would have been escorted to the hospital with her mother either way, so she saw little problem with the little girl going with her.

Having assumed the little girl was with Amelia, the police bring the both of them swiftly with the others. With only a small questioning glance towards his wife, Maxwell doesn't bother asking as he is much more preoccupied with his son's injuries. As he is brought in and through the hospital by Laela and Amelia, he becomes lost in thought, constantly seeing flashes of a dimly lit room where a shadow stood over a smaller, bruised, and slightly broken form of a very young Maxwell.

With Maxwell and Amelia's constant, unfocused gaze at the red light indicating the operation was still in process, they had shared no words; instead, they opted for silence and each other's presence. What seemed to weigh heavy on both of their minds now, knowing their son was safe, was the 'how' Argento had come to bear his injuries. Instead of getting one of them, or running away, he had gone with only giving Ivy any knowledge of his to-be actions, and instead of running he fought a fully grown man, and actually managed to seriously wound one and down another.

'Could he have-' before Maxwell is able to finish his thought process, the light turns green, and the Chronos' unfocused gazes come into sharp focus as Laela is seen coming out with a small smile.

"I am happy to report that Argento is going to be perfectly fine. He seemed to heal at a faster pace than normal, so there should be no lasting effects, but he will need to rest here for the night; he'll be free to go in the morning."

Running up and giving Laela a bear hug, Amelia says, "Thank you so much Laela!", while Maxwell gives a more tamed hug after they are done. They were immensely grateful to Laela for helping their son stay stable until they got to the hospital, but just as much, if not more, they were grateful to Ivy; having dreadfully thought of the scenario earlier, the married couple realized that if it were not for her, they very likely could have lost their son, and for that, they owed more than the Cassinova's would ever know.

"I know you two definitely don't want to leave him here, so here is a card for a room that is just down the hall. Having seen how fast the two of you are, I know a simple hallway is nothing to get through." With the Chronos giving weak chuckles at Laela's words, they gratefully take the card from her and give their farewells. Though they were not going to get much sleep, they could now relax a little knowing their room was mere meters from their son.
