Mesa’s Thoughts

The next day, no one so Mesa after yesterday incident. Currently, his team and team RWBY moving towards the arena.

" What do you mean he didn't come back yesterday? " Ruby asked

" It exactly what it means, he didn't show himself yesterday. It is not like the first time he does it. I couldn't break his legs yesterday, but today I will definitely do it " Nora said as she bumped her fists together

" Nora, he is our team leader. You can't break his legs " Pyrrha said with indifferent voice

" How can you act like this? He has to learn a lesson " Nora said with anger

" Forget it, it is not worth the trouble " Pyrrha replied

" You … " Nora wanted to say something but Pyrrha interrupted her " Enough!! I don't to talk about this !!!"

Nora stopped talking but she still promised to give mesa some beating later.

Ren tried to change the topic " So, how is your preparations? Who is going to fight today ?"

" It will be me and Weiss. What about your team ? " Yang said

" We …. Haven't decided that yet" Ren replied

Yang didn't talk. They walked silently toward the arena. When they arrived, they heard Port calling for the RWBY team and their opponents to prepare themselves and head to the arena.

" It is our call!! We will see you after the matches. Good luck on your match " Ruby said Before leaving. The rest of her team wished team MNPR good luck as they left.

" Can someone contact Mesa? " Pyrrha asked

" I will do it " Ren said then called Mesa's scroll. It took moments before Mesa picked up

" Did you forget about our match today? " Ren asked

<< Nop, I was just a little busy with an old friend. I'm not interested in the matches. You can choose any two among you three. I will see this evening bye >> Mesa replied then finished the call without waiting Ren reply.

" That bastard, he is probably with Weiss's sister!!! I will break his legs and hands " Nora was filled with rage.

Ren didn't speak, while Pyrrha was clenching her hands.

In a different location, Mesa put his scroll back into his pocket. He then looked up and said with a warm smile " So, where have we been again? "

In front of him, a group of middle age men and women shaking in fear. Around him the ground was filled with corpses. The blood washed the floor making it look like a red mirror.

The matches continued till the evening, Teams RWBY along side team MNPR, Cinder's team and Penny's team moved to the next stage.

After the matches, Team RWBY met with NPR portion.

" Great match guys " Yang said while smiling

" Yeah, especially you Nora …. You really broke their legs " Blake said

" You too guys!! Yang and Weiss were brilliant today " Pyrrha said with smile

" Let's go and celebrate !!! " Yang suggested

The others all agreed, they started moving toward one of Vale's restaurants when a voice call them " Greetings all "

When they turned around, Weiss was the first to respond " Winter!! What are you doing here? "

Winter smiled and answered " I'm here to congratulate you for your victory "

Winter then looked around and introduced herself " Greetings, My name is Winter. I'm Weiss older sister, nice to meet you all and thank you for being Weiss's friends "

The group greeted her back as the studied her. That was especially truly for Pyrrha, she studied winter carefully. Her initial opinion of her was a strong and extremely beatiful woman, she also seemed intelligent and well educated. Pyrrha believed she understood why Mesa agreed to marry her in the first place. Pyrrha didn't believe someone as powerful as Mesa can be forced so easily.

While the group was talking to each other, Mesa was heading toward them. He thought to himself [ Now only the relic left in Vale. I will leave after obtaining it ]

When Mesa neared them, he noticed Winter presence. He laughed disdainfully [ That useless general probably sent her here, with her pride, she will never get close to me on her own ]

Mesa approached them, they didn't notice him getting closer. Once he was few meters away from them, he called " Yo!! " as he waved his hand

Everyone looked at him, Mesa saw their eyes have different emotions, disappointment and anger being the dominant one. He was slightly confused.

Nora didn't reply, she directly dashed at him sending a punch, which he caught easily. He titled his head " You seem quite angry, what is going on? "

Nora screamed in anger " You have the face to ask after what you have done? "

Mesa replied " What did i do? Oh, you mean the match today. Sorry I was busy so I couldn't come. The opponents were weak anyway. You should have won easily "

Nora tried to punch him with her other hand which was caught again. She said " It's not that. You lied to us, you lied and tricked Pyrrha. We now know you are married "

Mesa hearing her words understood the situation. He thought [ So that's it. I didn't take the possibility of this misunderstanding the situation in consideration. Well it doesn't matter at this point, a day earlier won't change anything ]

Mesa smiled at Nora and said " I still don't get it? When did I lie or trick Pyrrha "

When the group heard his words, they felt more anger and disgust. They didn't expect Mesa to be this kind of scum. Winter frowned, earlier she heard about his relation with ms nikkos. She could tell, he didn't tell her about himself. And now he act like this. Winter was reevaluating the general judgement now.

Nora freed herself from Mesa and looked at him with anger. Yang's eyes turned red, she screamed at Mesa " How can you act like this? Do you know how much pain you caused for Pyrrha? You played with her feeling then abandoned her like she was nothing, and now you are acting as if you did nothing "

The others didn't speak, but their eyes showed their anger and displeasure.

Mesa tilted his head and stared at everyone, his red eyes swapped them one by one. Mesa's stare caused them to feel uncomfortable. It was like his eyes were staring directly at their souls, they felt Mesa could see every thought they have in their minds. This feeling caused everyone to have step back and avert their eyes from Mesa's.

" I take it all of you share the same opinion " Mesa asked them with calm voice. They looked at him again but didn't answer.

Mesa nodded lightly, he smiled and said " I see, You interpreted my actions completely wrong, and to be honest I have never had hopes for you to understand anything considering the lack of intelligence you showed so far "

Team RWBY, NPR and even Winter were all surprised by the way Mesa talked to them. He directly insulted them all at once. The surprised faces were replaced with angry faces moments later.

Mesa didn't bother with the angry stares he was receiving, he continued " Actually, I wasn't tricking her or anything like you all thought. I was completely serious about my relationship with Pyrrha "

His words confused them especially Pyrrha, They doubted he was lying at this point. Mesa could tell their thoughts, he continued with a voice filled with disdain " You actually seriously think some papers can decide my actions?? I burnt the stupid papers the same day we signed them hehehe. As if I will accept a marriage when I was drunk "

The words he said confused them, if he truly burnt them, then why did he act like a fool yesterday? The one was confused most was Winter. Mesa actions didn't make any sense. Winter doubted his sanity.

Mesa laughed " you all thought the friend I spoke of was Winter, right? Well, I wasn't talking about her. I meant Qrow, Yang's uncle. It happened that he was near Winter when I arrived that's all "

" Uncle Qrow was really there yesterday " Ruby said confirming Mesa's words

Hearing to this point, Winter felt rage building inside her. He burned the marriage forms the same day? He didn't care about that night in the least !! She gritted her teeth and asked " Why did you perform the clown show yesterday? "

Mesa gave winter a look of disgust " You insulted me and attacked because you ended acting like prostitute when you were drunk. You wanted to hide your mistakes and continue to act like a perfect lady, you even went as far as aiming for my life. That was your punishment, I wanted to make a scene so everyone know what happened and see what kind of slut you are "

Winter widened her eyes hearing his answer, so he did all of that to humiliate her? He even called her prostitute and slut. Winter couldn't contain her rage. She unsheathed her sword and attacked Mesa.

The others were shocked with Mesa's reason. They were still staring at Mesa when Winter attacked Mesa. They were about to shout and tell her to stop when she stopped midway then flew back toward them.

Winter's body fell in front of them like a rag doll. She was out cold, her clothes were covered with blood, they could see white bones coming from her arms. This site disturbed them to no end.

Weiss ran toward her fallen sister, she screamed " WINTER !!!!"

The rest stood in their places staring in terror. Mesa snorted as he said " This is the second time you dare to attack me. You should be glad I still didn't kill you, slut "

Weiss eyes were tearing, she looked at Mesa with anger and hate " You are a monster!! "

Mesa gave Weiss a cold look, Weiss felt her heart nearly stopped, Mesa's eyes terrified her, she had never seen him like this before.

Mesa looked at the rest of them, his eyes were focused on Pyrrha " You want to know why I didn't hesitate to break up with you, right? The answer actually quite simple, I prioritize my freedom over anything else, If rules will shackle my freedom then I will break them, if laws will restrain me then I will destroy them. You wanted to change my behaviour and restrain me, you even threatened me with our relationship. If it was someone else who threatened me, I would have killed them on the spot. I was lenient enough and decided to ignore you "

When Mesa was talking, some of his killing intent seeped from his body and pressured everyone. They heard his words, but they didn't have the courage nor the strength to even speak back.

The killing intent was retracted as Mesa continued " I was born free and I will live freely. Those who dare to take my freedom will be slaughtered, if the whole world attempt to cage me then what harm is there in destroying it "

At this moment, Mesa body wasn't given the slightest amount of killing intent, yet no one could move a muscle. They could only stare and listen to Mesa speaking.

To the first time since he walked in this world, Mesa lost control over his aura. His aura was now acting upon his feelings on its own. Mesa didn't care and continued to speak, his words came from his heart " I will never allow anything to take away my freedom. If it is the bonds I made then I will severe them, if it is my family then I will abandon them, If the morals and principles then I shall erase them. Even if it is the will of heaven then my will will sunder it. If being a hero or a good person will hinder me, then I shall have the heart that of a demon, I shall be the devil incarnate, the ultimate evil that will never submit or be defeated "

When Mesa finished his words, a tower of aura was raging out of his body shooting toward the sky. To Ruby and the others, Mesa felt like a god giving an absolute edict and all the creations have to obey it.

Mesa calmed down and retracted his aura, he could feel the aura in his body became many times stronger for some reason. His mind was formulating all kind of reasons to explain this change.

While Mesa stood there silently thinking about the changed in his body. The others were scared by Mesa's actions. Ruby gathered her carriage and called " M-Mesa …."

Ruby's voice woke up Mesa from his thoughts, he looked at the scared Ruby, his eyes showed no emotion. He said with indifferent sound " You all want condemn me for something you didn't understand. You didn't bother to ask me, but made your judgment. You wanted me to listen to you regardless of my own thoughts. I made a mistake by staying close to you and treating you as equals of myself. After today, we are not friends or family…. We are strangers to each other. And if you dare to stand in my way or annoy me in the future. I will show no mercy "

Once he finished speaking, he teleported using kamui. Mesa's actions and words were something they didn't expect in their wildest imagination.
