Chapter 14

"GRRRAAAAHHHHH!!!"

*Thud*

[Ding! You have defeated Floor Keeper of the 57th floor - You may climb to the next floor]

[You have leveled up!]

[You have leveled up!]

[You have leveled up!]

[You have leveled up!]

Ruby let out a breath of relief as exhaustion hit her hard, it has been two years since she had left the crystal village. She had barely beaten the Floor keeper after fighting for a week, her body was in pain as her eyes were very blurry. Even after two years she looks the same, the only things that had changed are the scars on her body aswell as the change of clothing.

Her knight inspired outfit was updated having more steel than cloth, the metal parts of her armour was changed into a ore that absorbs magical attacks and physical attacks by fifty percent, it letting her tank attacks without worrying too much about getting hurt. She falls to the ground as a groan escaped her mouth, "[Summon Familiar]" She whispered as a magic circle appeared beside her, it glowed brightly as a large creature appeared in it's place.

The creature hissed happily as it curled itself unto Ruby, Ruby smiled and laughed at it's action, "Hello to you too Fang" She flinched at the sudden pain at her hip as she looked at Fang apologetically, "Sorry Fang but can you guard me until I'm able to move?" Fang understood as ut began to circle around her in a protective manner as Fang observed the surroundings for enemies.

She muttered a silent thank you as she took out a red crystal from her inventory as broke it in half, a green light surrounded her. It felt soothing and gentle it made her body relax, as the green light continued healing her she began to think about her family back in the fiftieth floor. She wonders how they are doing and do they miss her.

A loud crack and whimper snapped her out of her thoughts as she looked at the sound's direction, she saw Fang biting the neck of a lesser troll. It's eyes were foggy from the poison Fang administered to it's body via bite, it wasn't dead she was sure of that because she remembers trolls had insane regeneration speed. She moves her arm and found that the pain lessened, she was sure she can move now.

She groans as she sits herself up, grabbing her sword [Stinger] she plunged it down onto the dirt and used it as a support to stand up. She then walks over towards Fang and got into her stance, her sword on her side already drawn. she then pivoted to the side while also swinging her sword towards the Troll's neck beheading the monster.

[You have leveled up!]

[Familiar <Fang> has leveled up!]

Fang then drops the body and went back to it's Master's side. It hissed proudly as Ruby chuckled, "Yes yes, good job Fang" She then looked at her stats and saw she was level eighty three, a few levels from level ninety. She sighed at the sight and wondered when she could catch up to Annie's level, Oh yeah never.

Elf life was long so they more time to level up but with their long lifespan their fertility dropped. Maybe that was why Annie was still single, She crushed that thought in an instant she could already imagine Annie grill her for that thought. She shook her head and looked at the gate leading towards the fifty eighth floor, the gate was a huge circular object that hovered a few feet off the ground.

These gates only appear after beating a Floor Keeper, they disappear a day after to limit the amount of people able to climb the dungeon. She remembers hearing that once a floor keeper is killed the dungeon increases the aggression of the floor's monsters to replace the killed one, during this time the dungeon links to the minds of the floors inhabitants warning them about it.

She doesn't know if it was really the dungeon who warns them or a program Lucifer made to lessen his workload, damn that lazy fallen.

Speaking of Lucifer, he contacted her last year just checking if she was alive or not. They talked for a while after that they bid each other goodbye, after the talk a screen appeared infront of her saying she recieved the title [Lucifer's Apprentice]. She was pretty confused at that but shrugged, it gave a good amount of INT and STR so she wasn't complaining.

She touched the ball as mana was sucked from her body, the gate then expanded and thinned before it turned into a ring with mana cycling inside of it. She then stepped forward and passed through the gate.

When she opened her eyes she saw that the whole floor was made out of sand with an artificial sun hanging up on the fake sky, she wasn't surprised by this as Annie already told her about this. She took of her armour and replaced it with a large red cloak, it had a enchantment that makes the wearer cool and prevent a heatstroke from happening. She let out a breath and continued her journey

[Lucifer's Apprentice] - Lucifer was looking for someone to pass on his skills to but saw no one qualified, that is until he met you. Increase STR and INT by 30, easier to gain the trust of other Good, Evil, and Neutral alignment Administrators
