Chapter 26: Sins of a father

Scarlet snickered at what Azula said, she shook her head as she glared at her for a small moment before a grin appeared on her face, her fangs bared as she started to laugh. Azula looked at her with confusion, what was so funny? Did she miss something funny? She gritted her teeth as she blew some hair out of her face.

"What's so funny?" Azula asked with a little bit of a growl in her voice. "What's so funny?!"

"The sins of a father will fall upon the child? Please, I have no father..." Scarlet continues to laugh as she eventually stops and looks over at Azula. "You on the other hand do have a father, so I should say you just spoke the words for yourself." She cackled and rushed towards Azula and gut punched her hard knocking the wind out of her lungs.

Azula gasped as she clinched her stomach and fell to her knees, she looked up at Scarlet gritting her teeth. "Y-You think you can just walk up to me and do that?!" Blue flames erupted from her mouth and body as they engulfed Scarlet. "I am princess Azula, the rightful heir to the fire nation!" She snarled as she looked at the flames that engulfed Scarlet. "I will not let some weak punk take that pride away from me."

Scarlet reached her hand out from the fire and grabbed Azula by the neck. "Your flames don't harm me, you should know this by now...." She grinned wide as she tossed Azula aside, she began walking towards her as the flames on her body were slowly going out. "You're nothing but a spoiled brat who wants things to fall into place." She raised her foot up and stomped on Azula's stomach. "Why don't you wake up? The world you live in is meant to be your downfall. You're the one who's weak, not me...." She then kicked Azula in the side as she smirked. "Get up, come on... show me what you're capable of doing Azula!"

Azula slowly got up as she glared at Scarlet, she landed an uppercut to her jaw sending her backwards. "Don't you dare talk down to me like I'm a servant!" She growled as she shot lightning bolts from her finger tips at Scarlet. "I'll be the one who wins the tournament, I will be the one who gets the wish."

Scarlet started to laugh. "Is that what you think? You think you're the one who will win this?" She cracked her neck as she grinned widely. "You may be strong to those weaker than you, but you're forgetting something...." Her shoulder blades wiggled and squirmed as her Nevermore wings ripped through her flesh and sprouted out from her shoulder blades, drenched in her blood as they flapped to dry off. "I'm not any mere human...." She flapped her wings as a gust of wind was sent flying towards the fire behind Azula creating an open path. "Now then.... Let's finish this like civilized people...."

"Oooh, look at that. Yeah look, she grew wings... so cool! Yeah so cool!" Both Zeno's said at the same time as they smiled with excitement. "She can fly now! Flying is allowed for those who have wings, so she has a pass."

The Grand Priest smiled as he watched. "Indeed, those who have wings are allowed to fly in this tournament. I am curious about how she plans to use this to her advantage though..." He put one of her hands on his chin. "It seems like only time will tell from here. But I must say... she does have the attention of the Omni kings."

More and more people were getting knocked out of the tournament ring, the Akatsuki were blown out easily by Vegeta. Aang and his friends along with Zuko stayed in as long as they could but were knocked out by Wendy, but Wendy was soon knocked out by Shredder.

"It appears that we are hanging on a thin thread now..." Iroh said as he looked towards Aang and the others. "Azula and the other two are what is keeping us in this tournament. But her ego is getting to the better of her."

Zuko scoffed as he crossed his arms. "I can't believe we're relying on her of all people to make sure we don't get erased.."

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to push you all out with my Dragon Slayer magic..." Wendy said as the young dragon slayer looked down at her feet. "I just got caught up in the moment."

Iroh smiled as he looked over to Wendy. "It is fine, this tournament is heating up... those who don't fight often, are now getting the chance to show their skills off. It isn't your fault..."

Wendy looked up as she looked towards Iroh, hearing his words of wisdom made her feel happy. But what got her smiling and laughing was seeing him prepare some tea, there was no telling how he was able to get past with it. But he handed Wendy a cup of tea, it seemed like he had plenty of tea to share, so many cups were passed around as even Beerus and Whis had a cup as well.

"Sharing tea with fascinating strangers is one of life's true delights." Iroh said with a small hearty laugh, he looked towards the tournament ring as he stopped laughing. His gaze was on Azula and Scarlet for the most part as he took a sip of his tea. "Sometimes life is like a dark tunnel, and the light at the end of the tunnel strays further and further away from you the more you get swallowed by darkness... Azula is the one who is getting swallowed by the darkness. Now I have no idea how Scarlet was or is like. But from what I've heard she has been the worst person to fight."

Wendy nodded her head a little bit at what Iroh had said. "She was a tough one to beat yeah.... but... we helped her in the end so she could save her wife. And I think she's that small hope of light to bring Azula from the darkness.."

Iroh chuckled. "You might be right on that." He took another sip of his tea as he closed his eyes for a moment. "Isn't that right....." He opened his eyes as he looked back down at the fight. "....Azula?"

Beerus was enjoying the tea Iroh had shared with everyone, he couldn't get enough of it. The taste of it was something he never tasted in his entire life, it was amazing. The taste and flavor of it was dancing around on his tongue. "Whoa! This tea is amazing!"

"I couldn't agree more my lord." Whis said as he took a sip from his own cup of tea. "The way the flavors intertwine with each other is an amazing result."

Scarlet snickered as she flew into the air avoiding Azula's lighting and fire attacks, she swooped down and kneed her in the chin knocking her back a little. Scarlet then swung Black Rose at Azula cutting her hair, making it a bit shorter.

Azula winched in pain from being kneed in the chin as she watched as pieces of her hair fell off from her head. "How dare you?!" She grabbed Scarlet's leg and slammed her down hard. "Let's see how you like it when I throw you out of th--" She went quiet as Erza came ramming her elbow into her face.

"Jeez, you talk too much." Erza said as she scoffed, she helped Scarlet up to her feet as she looked at her. "I dealt with Ty Lee and Mai."

Scarlet raised an eyebrow up as she turned towards Erza puzzled, she looked over to where they were supposed to be, as she noticed they were already gone. Both Ty-Lee and Mai were now in the stands with the rest of the Avatar gang, all that was left was Azula.

"Well we tried." Mai said seeming to have a small smile on her face, it was obvious she was glad she didn't have to fight anymore. That's just the way she was, emotionless and didn't care about what happened.

Azula gathered herself as she glared at Erza, she gritted her teeth with anger. "I'll take you both on by myself then!"

Scarlet smirked as she watched Azula get all pissy and mad, she looked towards Erza as if she had read her mind on what she was thinking. Both Scarlet and Erza charged towards Azula, Scarlet sweep kicked her off her feet as Erza slashed her sword at her cutting her outfit. Then before Azula could even react to what was happening, Scarlet grinned widely as she kicked her in the side hard enough to send her flying out of the tournament ring.

"Damn she was annoying." Scarlet said as she turned to look at Erza, she watched as she turned towards her as well. The two stood there for a moment about to fight but something seemed off.

"Wait, where is Azula? She's not up here with us." Ty-Lee said looking around not seeing Azula anywhere.

Scarlet scoffed as she turned her head back towards the side of the ring as Azula was hanging on with both hands, she boosted herself up by shooting fire from her feet and got back into the ring. She smirked widely and fired a bolt of lightning from her finger tips over towards Erza.

Erza dodged out of the way as she glared at her. "How did you manage to even get back in? You were injured, there's no way you could've had time to hold on." Erza clinched the handles of her swords. She blocked the lightning bolt with one of them as she didn't have time to react to Azula throwing a blue ball of fire at her.

Azula cut off Scarlet and Erza with a wall of fire blocking any chances of Scarlet helping Erza, Azula's ego was getting the best of her as she forgot Scarlet had her Nevermore wings. The fire-bender rushed towards Erza and punched her in the gut hard causing Erza to gasp. She was then about to grab and throw Erza out of the ring but time came to a stand still again.

"How many times am I going to have to save your sorry ass?" Scarlet asked as she walked through the fire as her Nevermore wings were folded. "This is what... the second or third time?" She approached Erza and turned her attention towards Azula, she then looked back at Erza and did the next best thing. She kicked Erza out of the way and got in the way of Azula's grab, with a small blink time resumed.

Erza yelled in pain as she skidded across the tournament floor and held her side, Azula's eyes widened seeing Scarlet in the place Erza was supposed to be at. Scarlet only grinned as she grabbed Azula's arm and flung her over her shoulder and onto the floor in front of her, she squatted down and looked at Azula for a small moment.

"This is the part where you, my dear princess.... fall." The Grimm girl stood up as she slammed her fist into Azula's stomach, she walked over her and then cocked her leg back before kicking her hard once more. This time it was hard enough to send Azula flying further away from the edge of the tournament ring. "Ta-ta."

Scarlet watched as Azula vanished from the void and into the stands, she could see the raging fire in her eyes. Scarlet cackled as she stuck her middle finger up at Azula, it wasn't long before both Zeno's raised their hands up as Aang and the rest of team Avatar glowed.

Iroh looked over towards Wendy and then over at the tournament ring down at Scarlet. "Destiny is a funny thing. You never know how things are going to work out." He turned his attention over to Markarov. "Goodbye, everyone. Today, destiny is our friend. I know it." And with that being the last words he spoke. He and the others soon vanished, resulting in their universe being erased.
