Chapter 16: Dream of The Banished

Weiss had been infected with the Nightmare Grimm which resulted in her never waking up by morning, It was up to her team to take her to Shion's location within Beacon all while Ozpin and Glynda were also there with them, Scarlet on the other hand was in the other room listening and waiting.

"Good, she's here." Scarlet mumbled to herself as she grinned a bit.

Shion used their semblance as Weiss was placed down into the yarn-like web, and was soon wrapped up in the yarn. Like Jaune, she wasn't able to do much aside from sleep and be pulled into a dream or a nightmare, RBY had to decide which one of them would be suited enough to enter Weiss' dream to try and save her.

"It should be you Ruby." Ozpin said while he looked at the young huntress. "I don't think there's anyone else Weiss would trust more than you?"

Yang crossed her arms and nodded, agreeing with what Ozpin said, Blake did as well. Seeing as if it were the other way around and if it was Ruby laying there instead, Weiss would be the first one to go in.

"Remember, don't take too long." Shion said. "If you fail and cannot save Weiss in time. She will forever be stuck in the Grimm's grasp with no way of waking."

Hearing this from Shion, Scarlet smirked as this gave her so many ideas. "Stuck forever? Interesting." She mumbled again as she took a peek from the room she was in.

"Me? But I..." Ruby said as she thinks about it for a moment. "Shion... you said that the Nightmare Grimm latches onto its host if they feel negative thoughts right?"

Shion nodded their head and looked at Ruby puzzled for a bit. "Yes, they feed off of that and use those negative emotions to turn your dreams into nightmares, why did something happen?"

Ruby wasn't too sure if she should say what had happened the other day, she knew Blake was there with her but she was still traumatized seeing what happened at the shipping docks. She glanced at Blake who looked back at her. "Well, yes..."

Scarlet knew what Ruby was going to tell them, of course she also knew that she had Shion wrapped around her finger and if they were to mention her to Ozpin or the others, she'd take matters into her own hands and kill them all.

Ozpin cocked an eyebrow up as he looked over to her. "What happened?"

Ruby could feel eyes gazing at her from somewhere but she took a deep breath and exhaled, she explained everything that happened the other day to her and Blake. Yang was furious about this news, Ozpin and Glynda looked at each other as Glynda had left the room to proceed with an investigation on what had happened. Shion on the other hand knew what Ruby was talking about, but they didn't want to come out and tell Ruby or the others that Scarlet had came to pay them a visit.

"Don't worry, I'm sure Professor Goodwitch will have a search party look for her. Right now we have to focus on saving Weiss." Shion said as they watched Ruby proceed over to the yarn we. "When you're in the dream world, you will have coins to use."

"Coins, so I can use them to call you and other stuff?" Ruby asked.

Shion nodded. "But do not run out, use them wisely or you will be stuck inside."

"Wait wait, so if she runs out of coins she'll be stuck in Weiss' dream with no way out?" Yang asked puzzled at all of this, she was unsure if she should let this happen or not.

Shion only nodded as they saw Ruby lay down on the yarn before being wrapped up. "She has to do it wisely."

Shion walked off while Ozpin, Yang and Blake stood in the room and waited for any news from Ruby. Shion had walked into the other room where Scarlet was at, the Grimm girl grabbed Shion by the arm and placed her hand over their mouth.

"You're going to send me into Weiss' dream next, got it? If anyone is going to get their hands on this Grimm it's me." Scarlet hissed.

Shion nodded as they knew if they were to bring Scarlet out into the room where the others were at, Blake would attack. Instead Shion made it to where the yarn web Weiss and Ruby were on would be linked to the one in the room Scarlet was in. "Fine, but I can't keep this up for long, there's a time limit on my semblance."

Scarlet scoffed as she climbed onto the newly formed yarn web as she felt the yarn wrap around her, Shion watched as they saw the yarn completely wrap around Scarlet. They knew Scarlet had overheard everything they had told Ruby on what not to do, but was this the right choice? Sending a Grimm hybrid into Weiss' dream to take the Nightmare Grimm.

Once inside Weiss' supposedly nightmare, Scarlet stood up and glanced around. She noticed everything was a winter wonderland, she glanced down at her clothes to see they were more suited for the winter cold. "So is this what she thinks I look like? Hmph." She heard a train whistle further ahead as she rushed over to the cliff side. "What's this?"

Down below there was a SDC train making its way down the tracks, along the tracks were White Fang. Scarlet noticed that these dream versions of the Fang looked more like mutant animals. Over on the other side was another snowy cliff, Scarlet had noticed Ruby was standing there watching what was happening, but she was also on a pay phone as well.

"So that's how she can contact Shion.." Scarlet mumbled, she went to grab Black Rose and noticed it looked like a guitar. "The hell?" She was puzzled by this, she didn't see any triggers on her weapon or anything else for that matter. "Does she think I'm a punk who rocks out to metal?"

Ruby noticed as the train crashed after a while as she started to run along the edge of the cliff, she used her semblance to dash on through to make it quicker. Scarlet followed her as she kept up with the fearless leader of team RWBY, eventually she noticed Ruby come to a small stop as she threw a coin as a door appeared. Curious by this, Scarlet continues to watch Ruby and followed her again.

"I could learn a thing or two from this." Scarlet said, she stopped as she noticed Ruby was trying to find a way into the town. She grabbed one of her own coins and flicked it as a door appeared in front of her. "I could use this one for myself." She glanced back over to where Ruby was at, she noticed she was still trying to find a way inside. "Loser." She sprouted her Nevermore wings as she noticed she still had that ability, but not think much else of what Weiss thought of her she flew over Ruby and into twon.

Ruby hadn't noticed as she was too busy trying to find a way inside. "Come on, where is the entrance?" The young huntress kept looking until she found a way inside. "Nice, now to find out where Weiss is at..."

Scarlet landed not too far from where Ruby was at, she noticed that the town was empty. Minus shadow people walking around and what looked like Klein but a robot, then she saw Klein again as a door. "Hmm... someone's fond of their butler." She sniffed the air as she was trying to pick up Weiss' scent before Ruby could find her. But there were so many layers within this dream world, it almost reminded her of Ryuko's home town. Honnō City, which got her thinking.

"I wonder... if this is anything like Honnō City... then that must mean." Scarlet mumbled as she glanced upwards, there towering above everything was the Schnee Manor and what looked like a giant robot. "Bingo.... the Honnōji Academy of Weiss' version of Honnō City.... The Schnee Manor."

Ruby was clueless as to where Weiss would be at, she noticed a shop nearby as she walked over to it to see if anyone was inside. But she was oddly unable to see anyone, she saw shadow figures moving around and laughing, she seemed bummed out and sighed until she was startled.

"Ms Rose... what are you doing out here at a time like this?" Sleepy Klein asked from behind Ruby.

Ruby turned around as she looked at the talking door. "Huh?" She got closer to the door as she noticed something in the cage, the curtain opened up as she noticed team JNPR, but no Jaune. "Pyrrha, Nora... Ren.." She put her hands on the bars of the cell as she was confused. "What are you three doing here?"

Sleepy Klein glanced at Ruby puzzled. "Do you know these sillies? You should know by now that Weiss has them locked up for reasons." He had thought Ruby bumped her head. "You should return to your room before you get into any trouble."

Ruby couldn't believe her ears, Weiss did this to her friends. She was speechless, she didn't know what to say. And what did Klein mean by what he said. What trouble was she going to cause?

Hanging from a lamp post was a bat, but it was Whitley. It seemed Weiss had thought of her brother as an annoying pest hence why he was a bat. Whitley unfolded his wings as he saw Ruby and smirked. He flew off and went back to the manor to report to Weiss, when he was going back he had noticed Scarlet a few blocks away from Ruby's location. This terrified him, he quickly flew as far and as fast as his tiny bat body would take him.

Inside the Manor Weiss entered the dining room as there was a shadow figure of her mother on the wall laughing and drinking. There seemed to have been more Klein's around as well, the candle flames were Klein as ghost hands took Weiss' jacket and hat off, followed by brushing her hair.

"Report... Big Nicholas." Weiss said as she sat down, a holographic head of what seemed to be her father or her grandfather appeared before her displaying a holographic screen. "Where is the train at and it's route?"

"Stopped... the Fang had attacked our supply train." Flame Klein spoke as he flickered like any old flame. "Our dust supplies are being brought down to a minimum rate..."

Weiss sighed as she snapped her fingers. "Sister." A book floated over to Weiss as it opened up, inside the book was a silhouette of Winter Schnee. "Tell me, do you think we can be successful the next day in getting the train here?"

"I have doubts, but we can try." Winter spoke, she was about to say something else until Whitley came flying in and landed on Weiss' chair.

Weiss glanced over as she noticed him, she seemed annoyed but interested as to why he had came back so quickly. "What is it this time Whitley? You better make it quick. I have an important meeting."

Whitley didn't know what to do first, but instead he decided to get the worst part out of the way before getting to Ruby. "I'm sorry, but you have to hear this... The Red Queen is here.."

A gasp could be heard from Willow, Winter and Klein. Weiss glared at Whitley with a angry glare. "Red Queen Scarlet is here?! How did she get in?!"

Whitley tried to answer but he couldn't find the proper answer. "I-I don't know... but there's something else you need to know. Ruby is out of her prison, she doesn't seem to recall anything that has happened here."

Weiss seemed a bit suspicious of all this, she closed her eyes to think for a moment. "Then that must mean Yang escaped too... we can't let our guard down for a second, especially with the Black Lady on the loose. She could be the one who helped Ruby and Yang escape..." She opened her eyes as she looked at Whitley. "Keep an eye on those two." She then glanced at the hologram head of her grandfather. "Big Nicholas, have the Klein bots put up wanted posters of the two... and prepare them for captivity... This will result in a war if they're not taken care of."

"Big Nicholas." The holographic head spoke as his eyes glowed.

Weiss stood up as she left the room while Whitley had flown off, Weiss closed the door behind her as she bit her nail and scoffed. "....Ruby.... how many times do I have to tell you...? She slammed her fist against the wall and scowled. "First the train wreck thanks to the Fang. Now you disobey my orders, and to top it off I have to worry about the Red Queen as well.."
