Chapter 30
"What?" Lucas was in awe— mind-numbing awe. "But that's just impossible. You're the alpha's Luna and that's just impossible. Alpha Charles would kill us both."
Their conversation continued in a whisper, as their negotiations kept going back and forth.
"I can make arrangements for that. Alpha Charles wouldn't have to find out, unless you have plans of telling him about it," Queen Charlotte said, as she stood up straight. "You're now the one with your life in your hands, Lucas. So what's it going to be?"
"I don't know…" Lucas was perplexed as he hadn't seen that coming at all. He was still on his knees, under the pressure of making a decision that could change his life forever.
But then, if he didn't make that decision, he probably wouldn't have a life to be changed. He would die a cold death at the hands of his alpha if a word of his dealings with Alpha Ryder's beta was breathed to him.
"You better make up your mind quickly," Queen Charlotte said, trying to put even more pressure to hasten his decision-making. "I don't have all day, and I'm already running late for my morning walk with the other queens. And there's no guarantee that I would keep my mouth shut if I'm out there with them."
"Please… don't do that," Lucas said, looking up at her with his eyes, which were about tearing up.
"Then make up your mind quickly." Charlotte was desperate to have him, but she couldn't let him know that, as she feared that it would make her to relinquish her upper hand in the situation. "I'll be leaving in ten. Ten…"
Lucas grew even more tensed by the moment, as she began making her count. He would have to do it, not just for himself, but for Zach as well.
"Nine…" Charlotte put on the most heartless look on her face as she began the countdown.
On the farther side of the door inside the building, Elizabeth was still on the lookout for Charlotte. She was beginning to wonder why she was even getting herself worked up for the lousy young queen.
But she reminded herself that it was all for the greater good. She was on the mission of making formidable allies out of the queens. That was all that kept her driven at that point.
"Where on earth could she be?" Elizabeth questioned under her breath until she was able to perceive Charlotte's scent. She quickly followed it, still feeling salty about her encounter with the concubines. Now she had to find Charlotte, and that made her even more salty.
She wondered what exactly it was about the younger ladies who never failed to leave her irked. Most times, it felt like they just had an innate ability to annoy people older than they were.
"Over here…" Elizabeth said, as she walked towards the door where she had traced Charlotte's scent to. What exactly was she doing behind that door? Elizabeth wondered as she walked there hurriedly.
She could hear Charlotte's voice as she was doing what seemed a bit like a countdown. How weird could the young queen be? At that point, she was already down to four in the countdown.
Elizabeth could sense that she wasn't alone, but then she didn't pay much mind to that, as she was solely focused on the young queen.
"Three…" she heard Charlotte count as she put her hand on the knob. "Two…"
"Charlotte?" Elizabeth called out her name, looking this way and that, only to see that she was all alone out there. "What are you doing here all alone and counting down?"
"Oh… sorry, I was just enjoying the cool morning breeze. I was totally clueless that I lost track of time," Charlotte sighed and smiled. "Shall we get going?"
"Alright…" Elizabeth looked around and was a bit suspicious of Charlotte. She was wondering when the young wild queen began enjoying nature. That was totally strange to her. All she could do was to keep her mouth shut and her eyes open for any more odd behavior from Charlotte.

"You wanted it, you went for it, and now you have it," Queen Charlotte said to herself as she stared in the mirror. She was awaiting Lucas as she was dressed in her most seductive clothing ever.
It didn't matter to her if she had made it happen by questionable means. All that mattered to her was that she was about to have Lucas to herself that moment.
She'd had a witch do a spell to make the marking to Alpha Charles unable to show him what she was up to. With that, she was sure that she couldn't go wrong.
She was going to use him at will, until she had her fill of him, regardless of how he felt towards her. It all seemed like a perfect setup.
On the other side of the door, Lucas stood, with his palms sweating from fright and nervousness. He didn't know what to expect from the time he was going to spend with the Queen, but he knew what was at stake. Either way, Alpha Charles would have him punished.
Just when he was about to knock, the door came open if its own accord, for him to see an overly excited Queen Charlotte who yanked him into the room and locked the door behind her.
"You kept me waiting," she said, as she pushed him to the bed and quickly tossed herself on top of him.
Lucas could do nothing but take the kisses as it came. She incessantly rubbed the warm wetness between her thighs on his hardness. He was almost in shock that he was hard for a woman again.
Charlotte was almost ecstatic, as his hands were soon moving through her body, arousing her wildly with each touch. He was soon so into the act to the point that he was about ripping her clothes in shreds.
Suddenly, she pulled herself away from him, and gave an urgent order.
"Strip..." she said, authoritatively, forcing him to get up and begin undoing his clothes. "Faster..."
Just when he was stark naked, the door flew open with a loud bang.
"You had quite the nerve...!"
