Pathetic

"Uhm..... You are back." She tried to fake a smile but her heart was pounding so fast.

He walked to her and surprised her by wiping the small tears in her eye. "Who made you cry?"

She touched her face and raised her head to look at him. "You don't need to know what happened."

"Did someone touch you?" His warm stare slowly turned deadly, making Nina stiffen in fear.

"Even if you don't tell me, I will find out and kill whoever made you cry." He said.

Turning around to leave, he grabbed her by the elbow. He had a displeased expression as he forces her to look at him. Her head was pressing against the wall with his warm breath on her ears.

"What exactly do you want from me?" She asked.

His eyes were brewing with flame. She could see hell burning through his eyes as he stared at her. The air around them was suffocating her. She did not like the way he was treating her.

She knew it was not just about the tears in her eyes that was making him angry. There was something else.

"What do you get from mingling with the egg seller?" He seethed.

"How does that concern you?" She was angry that he was too protective of her. Just because he marked her to be his forever does not mean she can't talk to other men freely.

"I marked you as my mate not to play with other men!" He snarled. "Seems like you want me to take you back to the underworld. Nina there is a limit to my patience and if you push me too much I will take you to the underworld where other men would not dare to come around you."

Nina pressed her lips. "Are you so eager to torment my life, Lucifer?"

She wanted to hit his chest and curse him for entering her life. Her blood was boiling underneath her skin as she stared at him with anger.

"Your people think of you as a pathetic mad king who only wants to secure his position with women. Now I understand why Zara killed herself." She roughly pushed him away from her and was about to walk away when he pulled her and slammed her back against the wall forcefully.

"Don't you ever speak of me in that manner again!" He snarled.

Nina fell onto her knees when he let go of her.

"Ahh!" The force he had used on her back caused pains in her. She yelped in pains, watching his back as he walked out of the house.

"Pathetic." She cursed under her breath. Standing up, she headed towards the door and was surprised to see Arthur standing there.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, looking around.

"I was told by my Master to bring some eggs for you today." He smiled.

Upon noticing the frown on her face, he asked. "Are you alright?"

"I am. Why do you ask?" She smiled at him.

Suddenly, he went to stand behind her observing her back. "There's a bruise on your back."

Nina immediately swirled round to avoid him from asking too much questions. "Just ignore it."

"Who did this to you?" He asked.

"I am fine." She firmly stared at him.

There was hesitation from Arthur before he slowly nodded with a deep breath. "O... Okay."

She took the eggs from him and smiled at him. "Sooooo?"

There was an awkward silence as he stared at her, unable to break gaze from her.

"You should leave now." Nina dropped her eyes. She didn't want what happened just now to repeat itself.

"You are not happy with him." He blurted out.

"That has nothing to do with you, Arthur. You are just my egg vendor. You should leave now." She said.

"I used to know him before.... So many years ago. And when I looked at him, hatred and anger wash through my eyes." Without waiting to hear her response, he turned around to leave.

Nina opened her mouth to stop him from leaving but it was already too late as he had exited the compound. She was confused. Did he know Lucifer somewhere? And how did they knew each other.

She locked the door and went into the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

Meanwhile Arthur who had arrived in heaven, looked at his damaged wings which Lucifer had ruined for him. The both of them had gotten into a fight and he promised Lucifer that he could never make the girl feel better or fall in love with him.

"How is she?" He heard a voice and turned around to see Jasmine.

"He is hurting her and she does not want me to intervene." He replied.

Jasmine gritted her teeth in anger. "I do not want more damage for my precious daughter. We are waking Lilith very soon. She will take over as his wife and I will finally reconcile with Nina."

"We should be a little more careful, considering the fact that she is a demon and you are an Angel. Waking Lilith is not the right answer now."

"You want me to continue watching as he destroys my daughter or what? I feel bad for not telling her everything before we died." Wiping the small tear in her eyes, her expression turned firm. "We are waking Lilith in a week time and I want you to prepare. My daughter can not continue to suffer in his hands."

After the awkward dinner between them, Hannah stood up and left.

Lucifer stood up to leave when Nina held him firmly.

"What do you want?" He asked.

"I need answers." She replied. "Wjat is your relationship with Arthur?"

He looked at her for a moment before he pulled his hands from her and walked away.
