Trust

As they were walking towards Nari's bungalow, Yasuo felt both nervous and excited at the same time to reveal his awakener class to someone for the very first time.

Having arrived at Nari's bungalow, they enter. Walking in, Yasuo notices that her bungalow is the exact same as his bungalow, the only difference being that it looked more decorated with personal belongings.

"Are you coming." Nari asked, while standing in the elevator.

Yasuo having fallen behind a little while looking around, quickly replied: "Sorry, I'm coming." And quickly went into the elevator with Nari.

Having arrived in the training room, it was now time to show Nari his awakeners class.

For some reason Yasuo was still a little hesitant to show Nari, and asked: "If I show you my class and everything, will you really form a portal clearing group with me?"

As Nari could see that Yasuo was hesitant, she gave an answer to try and reassure him. "I swear on my mother's name that I will form a portal clearing group with you." She said in a playful way, loosening up the mood.

Yasuo already knew that he wouldn't be able to hide anything if they really formed a portal clearing group, so he decided it would be best just to show Nari. "Because I trust you, I will show you everything." Yasuo said, as he knew that trust was the most important thing in a portal clearing group.

After taking a deep breath in, Yasuo summoned his evolution dagger, even though this was the one thing he wanted to hide the most.

Seeing a dagger appear out of nowhere surprised Nari. "What? How did you do that?" She asked, full of curiosity.

Yasuo replied by referring back to the story he told her earlier. "I told you that I awakened at a portal outbreak right? Well, I kind of awakened because a goblin stabbed a dagger through my hand. That dagger he used is this one. I also don't exactly know why I got this dagger, but the system said that it was a special reward for my class and the awakening situation."

Nari was still surprised after Yasuo's explanation and almost couldn't believe it, coming in for a closer look. "Can you just make it appear and vanish whenever you want? How does that work?" Nari asked, logically thinking about how something like that would be possible.

With Nari close to Yasuo, he made the dagger vanish into thin air. "I also don't really know exactly how it works, but when I got the dagger, this appeared." Yasuo said as she showed Nari the palm of his hand. "If you look closely, you can see a small black dot on the palm of my hand and on the tips of my fingers."

Having seen the dots on Yasuo's hand, still didn't explain anything for Nari, but she decided to accept the fact that it was the truth. "I can understand why you would be hesitant to show and tell me something so unique." Nari said.

After having calmed herself down, she continued the conversation: "You said that you could also use magic right? Then, is your class like a magic swordsman but with a dagger?" Nari asked, logically theorising about what Yasuo's class would be.

"Well… my class doesn't really have anything to do with daggers…" Said Yasuo hesitantly.

Once again, Nari looked confused. With Yasuo having shown his dagger, she thought that she finally figured out Yasuo and that there wouldn't be surprises anymore.

"I think it would be better for me to show it rather than explaining it." Said Yasuo, being determined to reveal the secrets to his class for the first time.

With Nari still beside him, Yasuo showed her the palm of his left hand, making his rune appear.

Nari didn't look shocked anymore, not even giving any reaction in the slightest. Not because it wasn't surprising, but because she was overloaded with thoughts, thinking about what she was even looking at. "A tattoo?" She whispered to herself.

Yasuo took a deep breath, before calmly saying: "My class is [Rune Possessor]."

Revealing his class, and saying it out loud for the first time, Yasuo strangely felt relieved.

As Yasuo didn't hear Nari say anything, he began explaining his class to her. "With my [Rune Possessor] class I can draw runes on my own body instead of on equipment. So it is kind of a combat class instead of the normal non-combative crafter type class, which it usually is."

For the first time in a few minutes, Nari said something, trying to make sense of everything in her mind. "So you can use magic through your runes, and you can also use a dagger…?" Nari asked, thinking that such a class is unprecedented.

"Yes." Yasuo responded, as Nari looked like she understood what type of class it was.

"What type of magic is this 'rune' on your hand." Nari Lee asked, who was trying to get a better understanding of Yasuo's unique class.

Yasuo excitedly responded: "[Ice spear]!"

Having said this out loud, the rune accidentally activated and an ice spear started to form. Not having expected this, Yasuo and Nari both panicked.

Yasuo quickly directed his hand, which was pointed at Nari, towards a training dummy at the back of the room.

He had reacted just in time, as the ice spear shot out immediately when he turned away, shooting towards the training dummy and piercing its chest.

'Oh, that could have been bad…' Yasuo and Nari both thought.

A few seconds of silence fell by the unexpected situation that just happened. When Yasuo looked back at Nari with a weirdly worried expression on his face, like a child who did something wrong, it made Nari burst out into laughter.

At this point Nari had just accepted the fact that Yasuo had a weirdly amazing class, and was not surprised at it anymore, just being impressed by it.

As Nari had become more curious about Yasuo, she suggested: "Do you want to go into augmented reality together now?"

Yasuo's weird expression immediately changed when Nari asked this. "Does that mean that you will form a group with me?" Yasuo asked with much anticipation.

"Yes" Nari said with a warm smile on her face.

Hearing this made Yasuo excited beyond measure. Not being able to wait anymore, Yasuo told Nari: "My awakener ID is 11555, when you register an account, you can add me with this ID." And immediately went to his own bungalow, without even saying goodbye.

Having quickly arrived at his own bungalow, Yasuo took the elevator down, put his suit on, and was immediately greeted by a notification from the augmented reality system.

~You have a team invitation from: Nari Lee, ID 16808, [Accept] or [Deny]~

Of course, Yasuo quickly pressed [Accept] and the whole environment began to change. This time the environment didn't change to a landscape like in the evaluation test, but instead to a fully whit room much like the third level of the library.

Looking around there was not a single thing to see, but then Nari suddenly spawned in.

Even though they had seen each other just a few minutes ago, Yasuo was excited to see Nari again.

As Nari looked around, she looked surprised at the fully white room, and finally notices Yasuo. "Hello Yasuo. Do you know what this room is? Have you been in here before?" Nari asked excitedly.

"I also haven't been in here before, but it looks similar to the room on the third floor of the library. I think this is just a waiting room. I think the program said that we could interact with it if we say 'System'." As soon as Yasuo said that, a hologram popped up.

~Press [Yes] to start~

Yasuo was excited to start hunting monsters together with Nari. "Let's press [Yes] and begin." Yasuo said with a joyful expression on his face.

"Wait! Wait, wait." Nari said, just before Yasuo could click on the [Yes] option.

Nari let out a sigh, and began lecturing Yasuo as if he was her little brother. "When you are in a team, you don't just dive right into things, not here and not in portals. Before entering, you have to make clear what roles each person will fulfil in the portal. With us teaming up for the first time, it is even more important that we do a thorough briefing about our combat styles, how we will fight, and what skills we can use so that we can come up with a strategy."

Yasuo looked kind of downhearted, thinking that he got scolded after being too excited.

Seeing this made Nari think that she might have been a little too hard on Yasuo, and tried to change the mood. "Didn't you say that you wanted to learn about team fighting? Let's think of a strategy together!" Nari said positively with a smile on his face.

Nari's attempt to cheer Yasuo up clearly worked, as Yasuo's expression brightened immediately upon hearing: 'thinking of a strategy', as that was what he was best at when he was inside portals.

In turns, Nari and Yasuo began telling each other everything about their own fighting styles, the [skills] they could use and even their preferred tempo while fighting.

The more they talked about their fighting styles and [skills] they had, the more apparent it became that they would be a perfect fit, making up for each other's weaknesses and strengthening each other in combat.

As they began talking about a strategy to fight the goblins in the first stage of the augmented reality, a dynamic came pretty naturally to them.

And in a short amount of time, they had been able to complete their briefing.

"Now we are ready to start." Said Nari, with a smile on her face, exuding confidence.
