Chapter Twenty-Nine [ The Tourists]
“The climate in San Diego is completely different and in contrast to the weather in the Philippines. The mother and children require more wrappings like onions on that first night.” Aunt Chel suggested. Rudolf has peace with his family even though there are upcoming problems that have yet to be resolved about the mountain people who rarely attack the villagers.
Rhoda has to prepare their supper, and Aunt Chels is unable to manage the house properly due to her old age and the trauma she received from the disasters. But now, she has gained strength with the arrival of her nephew, and she can sleep peacefully on her bed tonight. She just took her piece of bread and butter with hot tea, and she quickly left the family at the table after kissing the two lovely children.
Rhoda appears to be amazingly surprised by a Philippine hangover as a result of Rudolf's same affectionate and romantic love for her that night.
