Chapter 12

Two days had pass by and some rumors spread around that Phineas men had be attacking villagers in the mountains, and in the desert sands. The word came back to the village where Mana and Amore were. They had been training with one another as well for those pass days just the same. Mana was armored up, along with Amore whom had on her assassin type of gear. Mana still wore her magic mage type of attire, as she saw Amore inside a tent. She was over there attending to children whom were wounded from a fall, as she bandaged them up. Eventually, after helping them she slowly gotten up and walked towards Amore whom gotten word from a scout.

After reading what was reading from the scroll she was reviewing her eyes narrow and somewhat widen as well. "Is something wrong?" Mana asked as she came inside. Amore slowly rotated her eyes towards Mana shaking her head. "It's Phineas." She told her. When Mana heard that name, she balled her fist every single time. Disappointed that he hadn't been killed by now, and also felt she was wasting time being here as well. "Where is he." Mana asked harshly. "I'm sure he is back at his palace, or I mean Atem's palace by now. His men are taken over villagers and killing everyone inside them." Amore said softly as she turned around to the table. "Well we Have to stop them." She stated as she slowly started to leave. "Mana! Wait." She spoke. Mana turned around as she was surprised that Amore was stopping her.

"Why?! Phineas men are killing people! We cannot just sit by while thousand of women, men and children are killed." She spoke angrily. "I am aware of the situation! But what good would you do if you are dead in the end! Or if Phineas isn't at the palace and out with the villagers. You'd be walking right into his hands." Amore explained. Mana sighed, slightly with a little irritation because, of what was happening. She was highly annoyed about this entire ordeal, and dislike the fact that she was failing people. She felt weak once again, all that training she was doing she felt it was basically for nothing. In the end, she was still sitting around while people got slaughtered like animals.

Her eyes twitched as she was looking down I'm disappointed. She closed her eyes tightly, feeling herself wanting to cry, her heart was pounding through emotions. Feeling the gently hand of Amore's as she placed it down on her shoulder. Mana looked over at her, as she nodded in respect for her anger. "I'm sorry, the best we can do for my people, and everyone else is defend this village." She stated.

Mana in a way disliked that idea, she hated it in fact, but overall she knew she was right about it. She slowly started to walk off not giving any emotion towards Amore. Leaving the tent, as she walked through the village and headed back to the forest area. Amore watched her, as she sighed in relief, that Mana was taking her seriously and not acting rash. Amore also hated the news, more than anything if they were really taking over villages. Then, that only meant that their village would soon be hit just like the others. Amore wasn't prepared for such an assault and they must've been doing it at night when people were asleep. Amore closed her eyes, as they were twitching when she did so. She slowly left the tent as well, looking up at the sunny desert skies.

The wind slowly started to pick up, blowing her hair side to side. She could see the beautiful sky for what it really was, as she could remember Atem's face. It calmed her when she thought about what he looked like, and what they discussed together. She felt bad that she hadn't kissed him before he left, because she doesn't think she'll see him ever again. Her face gotten angry, overall but soon she found it to be pointless when doing so. Turning to the sand tops from the hills she could see in the distance. She parted her gently lips, looking over in that direction. "Atem... please, be careful out there." She said towards herself, as she slowly walked away.

Crow and Atem had been riding they're horses for the most of the journey. Crow was asleep, as he was riding his, slowly and softly snoring while his eyes was closed. Atem was awake, as he was looking in the distance, trying to see anything. It was somewhat dusty where they were, and wasn't very visible. 'A sandstorm?' Atem said towards himself. They had already been through one already, and it was rough as it was, it was also kept them from staying on track. Atem however was determined to get to his forbidden realm. He couldn't allow any more of his people to die, as every life that was lost was his own fault. He blamed himself for being so careless with his decisions, and didn't see through Phineas plans. In the end, it caused him, and he was going to make sure he payed dearly for them.

Suddenly, the bracelet on his wrist started to shimmer, as Atem's eyes widened seeing it. He didn't realize it was being so brightly, but that must've meant they were getting close. Soon it shined even brighter, as his eyes looked at it seeing it starting to blind him. "A-Ah! Crow!" Atem exclaimed. Crow slowly started to open his eyes, and then jolted them open as he took out his bow and arrow. "What! What is it!?" He shouted. Seeing Atem wrist raised in the air, as the air around them started to blow wildly. "Ah! What's—what's happening?!" Crow asked trying to see. It was hard for him to be able too, as the wind continued to blow around them. Eventually, the ground became to rumble underneath them, as both they're horses started to freak out.

"Ah! What's going on?" Atem shouted as he saw the sands move towards an area. It felt like quick sand, only it wasn't around them, but getting sunken into another location. "Let's go!" Atem said riding towards it, crow eyes widened as he followed behind Atem, as they gotten closer to the area. Soon, the ground quaking ended up blasting an gigantic whole that was in the center. It was arising an temple from the ground. Atem and Crow both moved back, as rocks started to fall from it, so they wouldn't get hit by them. An entire temple, along with statutes came from the ground, almost looking like guardians of the temple. "Is? Is this it?" Crow asked, as they both could see it was very tall. The temple was out in the middle of no where, as so were they. They weren't around anything for miles, at least days on end.

They didn't expect to get here in two days, but since they was riding nonstop it wasn't hard. Atem eyes slowly narrowed down, as he had to focus on the task at hand. "We Must teach the entrance, and find out what lies inside." Atem stated towards him. Crow nodded firmly, as his eyes went down as well. Atem and Crow slowly started to ride faster towards the temple, and try to reach the top of it. Atem and Crow both rode side by side another, as the bracelet on his wrist continued to beam with light. Crow slowly looked over at it, as he thought inside his mind about what kind of power it was wielding. He wondered if it'll be enough power to stop Phineas and if so, then he'd be the one to make sure he died by such power. The way the temple was, was swirling around it, the ramp for which needed to be climbed.

Atem and Crow continued to ride they're horses around the outer area. Crow could feel something was off by this, as he was behind Atem. He felt as if something was watching them, or even so about to attack them. "Hey! You feel that?" Crow exclaimed. Atem turned his head back quickly, as he didn't know what Crow as speaking of. "Feel what?" Atem shouted. "Look out!" Crow exclaimed as he saw a fist come towards them. Atem eyes widened, as Crow rode faster, and jumped from his horse as he tackled Atem off of his. They both fell down into the dirt, as Atem coughed as Crow took out his bow and arrows. His eyes widened looking up towards the heavens, as Atem wondered what he was looking at. Atem looked up as well, as his eyes widened, then squinted down with anger.

One of the guardian statues had came to life. An Egyptian like type of warrior whom was looking down at them. When he moved the entire temple tumbled along with the ground beneath their feet. "Looks like we finally got a fight!" Crow exclaimed with pride. Atem eyes twitched seeing the guardian, as it started to take out its gigantic staff it was holding. 'Dammit! Looks like it won't let us pass without a fight.' Atem thought deeply. This fight would be very challenging, as it didn't see like the odds was in either of Crow's nor Atem's favor. However, Atem had no choice in the matter, if he backed down now, every one would die by Phineas. That only angered Atem overall, as he took out his blades and took his stance.
